My late dad was a cord jacket/suit wearer. He had brown, a goldie brown and a soft emerald green (best description i can come up with) pieces. He wore them with shirts with fairly large collars, often pink. They looked great, in retrospect. Yes, he was a teacher.
The generation before him, who I remember being taught by as dad was only 20 years older than I, were all about the herringbone Harris Tweed... and very dark grey wool trousers. I can 'see' them all now lolz@@LukeHodges
I loved corduroy as a kid. I had a pair of dark green corduroy trousers when I was maybe 7 or 9 years old and I remember it fondly. I love suits but never thought to get myself a corduroy one until now. Thanks! Maybe I'll get someone to cut me a dark green corduroy one so I can reminisce 🙂
Bad reputation? Hell no I freaking love it and most people here in California love it too. Maybe not for every situation but it can be worn in many situations.
Agree! I have that olive green corduroy suit from Drake’s in this video and LOVE it. It’s so comfy, and I find I get more compliments on it than for more conventional choices. Got lucky and found the jacket on eBay for 1/2 price then bought the matching trousers new at full price. I think the idea of a corduroy suit sounds a lot weirder and riskier than the actual look. My gf didn’t like the sound of it at all but loves the result.
Thanks Andreas! Personally I’d go for dark brown as I think it will lend to more looks and is a bit more of a timeless colour. Green/olive will still look great though!
How can the ladies not love a fabric made for kings? (Cord du roi, French for cloth of kings). 😂 I love corduroy because it’s warm, comfortable, and it looks dapper. But seriously, women (especially younger women) think it looks too “grandpa style”. 😂. These corduroy suits are “next level” but that Wes Anderson look is a “lady repeller”. 🤣

Perfect colours for cord! Teachers know!

Thanks for the video! I am debating between getting a dark green or a dark brown corduroy suit. Which color would you personally go for? Thanks.
