One thing that wasn't mentioned about the reason for Glomgold's change from being South African to Scottish in the 80s cartoon was because South Africa was going through its apartheid era when the cartoon was being made, and Disney didn't want to risk being seen as advocating for such a controversial movement. By the time the reboot came out, apartheid was no longer being practiced in South Africa, so it was easier for the crew of the reboot to bring back Glomgold's South African origins.

Another point on Flinty: his original name being Duke Baloney is a reference to a one-off character who was the prototype for him as “second richest duck”, known as the Duke of Baloney. Clearly Barks reimagined the character later into the similar Flintheart Glomgold who replaced him, but making that his original name was a fun deep cut into the comics’ lore.

Fellows from the USA can't imagine how popular Carl Barks and Don Rosa are in Europe. Don Rosa is treated like a celebrity or rock star when he visits places like Italy, Greece, Germany and Scandinavian countries. As for Carl Barks, the guy was so important for the comic industry that even the grandfather of all Japanese anime Osamu Tezuka said that he was inspired by him to create Astroboy the first anime ever.

  • @ccggenius

You mentioned that you just couldn't picture the reboot Glomgold as the second richest duck in the world, but then much later mention him saving the world with something just crazy enough to work. That's it, right there.
To paraphrase Eichiro Oda, a miracle is just something with a low probability of working that someone was willing to see through to the end, and Glomgold has self-described as being too stubborn to know when to give up. You're absolutely correct that it'd take a miracle for someone like him to best McDuck, but he routinely wills miracles into existence. Whereas McDuck overcomes the odds through skill, cunning, and family, Glomgold routinely does the impossible by rejecting the possibility that he could fail.

This video makes me realise how many of the villains in the reboot, had bad parental figures or where bad parental figures (or both).
I guess it makes sense for the themes of the show, Scrooge has many flaws that could be considered villainous, but the love he has for his family, especially the younger generation, keeps him on the right track. It makes sense that his eviler nemesis lack that.

I don’t know if anyone has brought it up, but I do remember the show runner of the 2017 show say that they wrote Mark Beaks to be "a little bit racist". When he learns Gizmoduck is really Fenton (who is Latino in the reboot), he sarcastically calls him "Amigo".

It's funny, for a character who basically debuted as a one-off set up for Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie to hang out in a cabin and deal with a bear and its cub, Scrooge McDuck wound up getting quite a lot of mileage, not just by Carl Barks, but from Disney as a whole. I also appreciate both Carl Barks and Don Rosa fleshing Scrooge out over the years, in order to make his characterization both before and after his debut in Christmas on Bear Mountain make sense and be consistent. Indeed, if he stayed the way he did in that comic, it'd be possible he could be seen as a villain or at least an antagonist of Donald Duck. That said, it's a good thing they fleshed Scrooge out more, because we got a lot of fantastic stories out of it, to say nothing of the impressive Rogue's Gallery Scrooge got out of the years of adventures he and his nephews had.
The Beagle Boys, in particular, I like because of how versatile they can be. Because they're so numerous and look mostly identical, you can use them for virtually any kind of crime-related plot, though there are still a number of noteworthy Beagle Boy members for writers to use for more series plots. I find it interesting that the leader of the Beagle Boys changes depending on the medium; in the comics, there's their Patriarchal leader Blackheart Beagle (or Grandpa Beagle, I think he was called in one story), whereas in animation it's their Matriarchal leader Ma Beagle. Regardless, both are treated as leaders of a crime family (because they basically are), and when either of them organize and direct the other Beagle Boys, they can be a legitimately serious threat... Not so much otherwise. It's also interesting to see that they're willing to work for other villains, like Flintheart Glomgold, on occasion. I guess they're open for opportunity when it comes to committing crimes.
Speaking of Glomgold, though, I think he might be my favorite Scrooge villain because he's basically a direct foil for Scrooge, showing what Scrooge would be like if he didn't have morals. He's also mostly motivated out of envy of Scrooge, like yeah he's greedy, but he mostly wants to spite Scrooge with his wealth, which makes him constantly being the SECOND richest duck in the world all the more painful for him. As an aside, though, I REALLY love what they did with Glomgold in the 2017 reboot, not only is he an amalgamation of his previous incarnations (he's from South African, and he dresses like a Scot like in the 1987 DuckTales show), he's distinctly his own character; that is, he's still primarily motivated by envy and spite for Scrooge, but he's a lot more cartoonishly unhinged, he comes up with wild, nonsensical evil schemes, and is perfectly happy to simply kill Scrooge as opposed to being richer than him. He is thoroughly entertaining to watch any time he's on-screen, and honestly, learning his backstory when he had amnesia is honestly kind of sad. We see that he COULD be a friendly guy if it weren't for his petty grudge he developed towards Scrooge as a kid (all over Scrooge failing to impart the same wisdom he got when he was a shoeshine), and if he didn't stubbornly stick to that grudge, he'd probably be a lot better off for it. Thankfully, the tragedy of his backstory doesn't make him any less of a fun villain to watch, at least for me.
Magica de Spell is a fascinating character, if only because I recall there being a disconnect between how Carl Barks used her and how Don Rosa used her. With Barks, she's a powerful sorceress, whereas Rosa has her more reliant on magical artifacts to get things done. In fact, I recall reading there was even a Don Rosa comic that showed she was a bit of a fraud when it came to magic, but don't quote me on that. Her obsession with Scrooge's Number 1 Dime is interesting in that, growing up, I was never quite sure why she wanted his dime in the first place, and why that dime specifically was so valuable. I guess she wanted to make a powerful talisman out of it, and that it wasn't so much the dime itself but rather it was the most valuable possession of the world's richest duck that made it valuable to her, but I never got a clear answer (as a kid, at least). I like how both her and the dime were handled in the DuckTales reboot, she is, in fact, trapped within the dime (which Scrooge now keeps on his person at all times), hence why she tries to get her "niece", Lena, to get at it for the first season. It's also an interesting mix of Carl Barks and Don Rosa's interpretation of the character, in that she's initially quite powerful when she's freed, but when she's defeated at the end of the season, she lost most of her powers and can do little more than cheap parlor trick after that point. Great performance by Catherine Tate, though.

I mean he's just such an amazing and versatile character.
I'm Danish, so I grew up with having Donald Duck comic books available EVERYWHERE, all the time! To this DAY we have weekly releases of Donald Duck comic books in every single supermarket! It's really a mainstay here and has been since the fifties!
And well the thing about Scrooge is that he works both as a protagonist AND an antagonist! He so easily jumps from one to the other between stories.
He can be the one pulling Donald out on an adventure to any country at all, to search out treasure. Or he can be an antagonist for today setting up a money scheme in Ducburg that backfires on people and Donald has to pull him off his high horse.
He can be the one believing that self-driving cars are the future so he has to set up a factory, only for all the cars to crash because of faulty A.I. and Scrooge tries to hide it so he won't lose any money because he was too cheap to purchase insurance.
Or he can be the hero who sets up a defense of the town against an army of beagle boys. OR he hear of a vanished treasure in the Baltic and just goes there now encountering a Yeti.
I will say this makes him a WAY better character than the usual evil businessman such as Sterns from Simpsons, because... Scrooge can be either and is either. And it works! This is not an inconsistency of his character, he just is that versatile. And Donald is his perfect other half as the everyday man who can pull him back down on earth. Donald SHINES when he is with Scrooge, far more than when he's with Mickey or Goofy.
Scrooge is so great as a character and that's how we've been able to keep it up with these comic books for 75 years!

She tried to seduce Scrooge by posing as a bank manager, but her attempt was thwarted by a recurring character we have here in Italy, Bridget McBridge, an eccentric businesswoman who's also in love with Scrooge.
Another was a muscular weightlifter known as Olympic-167 who faced Donald Duck's superhero alter ego the Duck Avenger. She posed as a trainer and worked him so hard he was too tired to fight. But he did outwit them in the end.

The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck also gave Glomgold a pretty cool backstory. After securing his family home in Scotland, the young Scrooge traveled to South Africa in search of riches. He ran into Glomgold in the bush, and they became friends. Funny enough, Glomgold never told Scrooge his name. Instead, being the asshole he is, stole Scrooge's wagon, along with his stuff, leaving him to die in wilderness. But Scrooge, being the badass he is, wrangled a lion, rode the lion to Johannesburg, and kicked Glomgold's ass, humiliating him in front of the whole town. According to Scrooge, the Beagle Boys made him more careful and vigilant, while Glomgold only made him angry. So it's pretty evident the feud between Scrooge McDuck and Flintheart Glomgold runs deep.

@@Quirderph That's interesting. Thinking back, Scrooge only told Glomgold his first name, while Glomgold only said he was a "Boer". This is what the first white settlers in South Africa were called at the time, though they currently prefer the term "Afrikaaner". Regardless, this identity was for a long time associated with the Apartheid, which is why Glomgold's nationality was changed from South African to Scottish in the original cartoon.

@@Quirderph That's also interesting. I guess you could have made that connection in the original comics, with Glomgold mining diamonds in South Africa, and being a very white- ish duck.
But then again, Scrooge didn't shy away from colonialism either. There's even this one scene in Life and Times where he hires white thugs to burn down a village in Africa, and tricks the chief into selling his lands. It's the one time he goes against the morals instilled on him by his parents- the very ideals of Clan McDuck- out of greed, and he regrets that choice to this day. That's why Scrooge holds on to the philosophy of getting rich through your own hard work and determination, not at the cost of others.
Either way, guess any connection to South Africa reminded people in the 80's too much of the Apartheid.

    • @e-mananimates2274
      @e-mananimates2274 6 місяців тому +31

Bradford Buzzard is a good one! His own characteristic is that he doesn't see himself as a villain and is actually achieving a goal that makes a lot of sense. Sadly, his subordinates do not share the same opinion as they typically wear their villainy on their sleeves. Still, Bradford is not an angel in the slightest as he achieves his goals through underhanded methods and even places Scrooge's family in danger. Plus, he had no qualms deliberately breaking Scrooge emotionally. On top of that, his vision of an idea word has its own drawbacks.
What heightens his character further is how he conducts his evil plans. He keeps to himself pulling the strings from the shadows, and he composes himself as a very serious person. More often than not, he is keeping his flunkies in line to ensure they do not expose his entire operation. Also, he picks the more sensible routes to obtain his desires. Instead of wishing for supreme power for instance, he actually uses the reality-bending papyrus to make himself disappear from Scrooge's adventure just to give himself another chance to take over the world successfully. Later on, he constructs his next wish carefully into an ironclad contract to ensure Scrooge would never go on an adventure ever again. Even though he had chances to end Scrooge's life, he was more fixated on neutralizing him as he is aware Scrooge has a habit of cheating death. The only blemish is the moment he threw Donald into a void out of "petty villainy". It's just a bit out of character for him. I will say his final defeat is satisfying, though, and provides a sick burn from Scrooge's iconic enemies!

But here in the reboot, he is far better. And well, this sort of innocent outright naive personality works best when paired up with a cynic so they can play off each other, and even give something to each other. Fenton can give Gyre the optimism he lacks, and Gyre can provide Fenton with the cynicism he requires.
Good character writing also mean you need a variety of character personalities so they can play of each other, and if everyone is just nice and pure, it can feel pretty flat which well.. Could happen in original Ducktales, especially in later seasons where having both Fenton AND Launchpad as the Donald standings was kind of overkill.
I am so glad they just had Donald in this show, they NAILED him. He is the honest every day man who's honestly just trying to do his best, and is the heart, and becomes the heart Scrooge lacks quite often. He SHINES when standing next to Scrooge.
I also loved how Scrooge seemed to have honest and legit respect for Donald in this show, he really viewed Donald as an honest hard worker you can trust, one of the few people he seem to truly trust. That seemed as it was taking straight out of the Don Rosa comics and it made me so happy.

Regarding the other noteworthy Duck villains mentioned in this video:
-John D. Rockerduck is interesting in that he's like Glomgold, a business rival for Scrooge, but unlike Glomgold or even Scrooge for that matter, he's not nearly as stingy and is pretty liberal with his spending, to the point where when Rockerduck and Glomgold worked together once, Glomgold was disgusted by how extravagant Rockerduck's home was. It reminds me of how Scrooge always tends to live in a relatively modest home in most incarnations, except for the reboot, where I'm guessing he lives in a mansion in order to house the treasures from his adventures that otherwise couldn't be put into his Money Bin.
-I'm actually kind of surprised the reboot never made use of Argus McSwine, given how deep they got with their references to the comic books. Maybe if they had a fourth season, they could have introduced him properly. At least he got one episode in the original DuckTales. Let's see if he'll ever get more appearances after that.
-El Capitan and Merlock are good villains for their respective stories, but I otherwise don't have much to say about them, other than it's impressive that El Capitan lived as long as he did without any magical assistance, and Merlock is a highly competent villain saddled with some less than competent help.
-Speaking of Dijon, I actually think he's a funny character, and surprised he got more use outside the DuckTales movie. I do really like how he was re-characterized in the reboot, though, and his name is now Farus D'jinn so it sounds authentically Middle Eastern and not just a pun on Dijon Mustard.
-Mark Beaks, I initially saw as basically the reboot equivalent of Rockerduck, a younger business rival to Scrooge and Glomgold. That said, he barely seems all that interested in competing with the two in terms of who is the richest, and is more focused on publicity and fulfilling his own odd desires and obsessions. His episodes where he tries to steal the Gizmoduck technology shows he actually IS smart enough to do things competently, he's just lazy and would rather take the easy way out most of the time. Fun villain, even if he's obnoxious a lot of the time.
-I remember seeing a little pushback on making Doofus Drake a villain, to which I recall Francisco Angones, co-showrunner of the DuckTales reboot, saying before he made the decision, he looked online to see if there was secretly a huge fan following for Doofus, and all he could find was fanart of Doofus falling in love with a hot dog. Speaking for myself, yeah, it's a drastically different character, but it's not like I cared all that much about Doofus in the original show.
-Zeus's characterization in the reboot is interesting, in that it gets that the original Zeus was petty and easily angered, but then it proceeds to go a step further but having him having him unleash a Titan, the enemies of the Gods, just to make himself look badass. It's like the went in the exact opposite direction of Disney's Hercules and, like many stuff in the reboot, exaggerated it for comic effect.
-I... honestly don't have much to say about General Lunaris. I think all the stuff with the Moon and Moonlanders is neat, and I think it all makes for a good, climactic ending to season 2, and a good way to have the villains of the third series be more motivated to become more active, but as for Lunaris himself? Well, I like that he's smart enough to out-think Scrooge, but is so smart that he thinks Glomgold plan must me hiding something else because it's so stupid and flawed they can't possibly be relying only on that. Other that that, though, not the most memorable villain, at least to me.
-I love the twist that Scrooge's boring Board of Directors we saw in the very first episode were, in fact, the leaders of F.O.W.L. in this universe, they even kind of looked like the shadowy F.O.W.L. leaders in Darkwing Duck. It's interesting, too, since you could easily just see them as simply profit-motivated members of Scrooge's board, but in retrospect, it's interesting that they rarely offer any ideas to increase profits other than downsizing and cutting costs. This is because they were using Scrooge's riches to fund their own schemes and weren't all that interested in making Scrooge richer. Seriously, as a final villain for the reboot to go out on, Bradford Buzzard is a good one, being deeply connected to Scrooge for years and being in charge of a large criminal organization that has given Scrooge and the world grief even before season 3. I also like how he keeps insisting he's not a villain and is just a well-intentioned extremist, though the years of working with Black Heron have clearly made him more inclined to do villainous things, even if he's still in denial about it until the end.
Seriously, the DuckTales Reboot was so good at honoring the Scrooge McDuck history while creating something new, I really wish it went on longer. Apparently, Francisco Angones wanted to make sure the episodes didn't air out of order again like Disney did with the previous seasons, and the only way he could do that was to have it air on Disney XD. When he did this, and he didn't see the serious got automatically renewed for another season like the previous ones, he learned his lesson from Wander Over Yonder and decided to get everything he wanted out of this reboot out in this final season. This is, incidentally, part of why Negaduck didn't show up in season 3, since Negaduck needed at LEAST a full episode to himself, and there was just not enough room in season 3 to fit him in. Still, I'm very much impressed by what they managed to accomplish with these three seasons, really good stuff all around.

43:37 Yeah, I got that same impression, too. They acted more like husband and wife. There were plenty of parts in the flashback where they shot each other long looks from across the room and held each other's hands for no reason other than physical affection like a couple. When my friend and I were talking about it last night, she got some major Cersei and Jaime Lannister vibes from those two, if you know what I mean. While I'm not Italian per se, I'm half Mexican. I know I don't act like that around my brothers, so I doubt Italians do either, since there is some cultural crossover. So it REALLY makes me wonder if the creators of the reboot were implying that sort of relationship, but couldn't outright say it, because it's a Disney cartoon targeted at children. The signs are there.

Something else to note about the Beagle Boys in the comics is that they seem to have a knack for using wild animals for schemes. In Only a Poor Old Man, they trained cormorants to steal coins, loaded fish with dynamite to blow up Scrooge's dam, and even bred their own voracious termites for the same goal. Then there's a comic where they've trained gophers to undermine Scrooge's money bin, and another where they've been sending trained birds to fly through a broken window to steal Scrooge's loose change (it's never much, but it's money that Scrooge doesn't get back).

It involves the Duck family being teleported to Disneyland Paris (and yes, the real Donald now co-exists with human cast members in Donald suits; and no, it's not a parallel universe, it's implied to be still in the Duck universe since Magica can travel there from Duckburg just by flying).

I think maybe the reason that Rockerduck has gotten more appearances in the comics than Glomgold is sort of related to your issue with Glomgold's reboot character - and how it's difficult to believe that he's Scrooge's #1 rival for richest duck in the world. Rockerduck is incredibly rich, but he's not as close to the top as Scrooge and Glomgold, so his childish antics don't break suspension of disbelief as much. As a result, while Glomgold is limited to especially epic confrontations with Scrooge, Rockerduck is an easy option for rivalry antics that aren't to be taken as seriously.

    • @wikiuser92
      @wikiuser92 6 місяців тому +1

Rockerduck was created by Carl Barks as a one-off character, but Italian Donald Duck artists turned him into a rival for Scrooge. They'd often get into a petty rivalry over some industry, which would escalate until something really bad happened, usually resulting in both of them failing and a potential third party to succeed instead.
Stories where both he and Flintheart appear are really rare, and I can understand why, since both of them want to be richer than Scrooge.

Foola Zoola is a Stereotypical Blackface Witch Doctor who, After Scrooge McDuck destroyed his Native Village, Stealing his Tribe Land, and being a Dick to him in general, sends out an indestructible (And even more Blackface) Zombie named Bombie to go after Scrooge and Kill him. Donald is just unlucky enough to Meet him first and Bombie mistakes Donald as Scrooge. The Bombie notably appeared in the Ducktale Reboot as a One-Shot Villain. This Bombie is created specifically to hunt down people who claimed the "World Richest" title and will leave anyone alone if you give him humility.
The Country of Brutopia is basically The Duck Comics Version of Soviet Russia just like Thembria from Talespin with a Slight hint of Pottsylvania. Being composed of Spies, Dictators, and Anti-Capitalism across the board, Brutopia prides themselves at being Ruthless, World-conquering, Communists. A Brutopian Representative in "Cold Bargain" even states that "Brutopia don't eat Ice Cream" and is willing to destroy a Valuable element called Bombastium because it's really an Ice Cream Recipe. Among Brutopia's Many agents includes Mystic Max McMalefactor, A former Stage Magician turned Brutopian Spy who uses his Skills to Smuggle a Microfilm from inside the epoch Express, and Count Von Turpentine, a Big Game Hunter living in Danger Island.
Arpin Lusène AKA The Black Knight is Duck Comics take on Lupin. A Polite Gentleman-Like thief who is more interested in making everyone believe he was a Master Thief rather than personal gain. He became the Black Knight after he stole one of Scrooge McDuck's Suit of Armor and coated it with Diamonds dust and Omnisolve, A substance that Gyro created in an earlier story which can destroy anything it touches. I mean... The Darkwing episodes WERE supposed to be a backdoor pilot, and there was a Darkwing Duck show in the works with Seth Rogen as a producer that was meant to be a continuation of the reboot.
But... Then DisneyChannel got axed, and all the shows it was currently producing, which included the reboot.
And the Darkwing reboot seems to be completely up in the air as well to this day.
I think there are still some talks, with the incredible success "Invincible." had, also being a Seth Rogen produced show. There's still a chance but.... The behind the scenes of Disney is just an utter MESS these days
Everything is DEI, legacy creators are being fired for being the wrong gender, skin color or just being... Old. So they are being replaced for younger "Fresher." talent.
Incidentally young people who wouldn't put up as much of a fight when it comes to the creative aspect and are more willing to just follow orders.
While executives are making stupid decisions though they never wrote or created a thing. So... I don't even know if the Reboot people are even THERE anymore. I wouldn't be shocked if the answer is no. And well... They are aiming at only producing shows that fulfill the DEI quota meaning the main character needs to be female or none-white or both and Darkwing is a white male... So... yeah... I dunno.

The 2010s version of DuckTales solved cleverly and easily on who might be the main villain for Scrooge McDuck specially on the climax of Season 2 where actually happens an ensemble of all the relevant DuckTales villains in a way that kinda makes similar ensembles from DC comics into both a good hommage-inspiration way or even a SHAME on their current way of working it now.

You know, I got an Italian Donald Duck chocolate prize egg years back that had a Rockerduck figure in it. While you didn't get into details about Paperinik or the spinoffs for the sake of brevity, let me be the one to mention his deal as a supervillain. His alter ego has the groan inducing turn of phrase pun of "Rollerdollar." And a short run of those comics were published in the US, they are well out of print (BOOM! published them). So they'd be hard for anyone to track down. That said, I'm a big Beagle Boys fan. I always love that lower level bad guy trope of the robbing thugs as much as I love major threats. While I appreciate the comics version, I greatly prefer both cartoons' take on giving them personalities. I especially love how the Reboot basically made a huge reference to The Warriors with their gangs. I think that show ended satisfyingly enough, but I really wish there was a short run 4th season that was just about Scrooge's rivalry with the Beagle family.

This was definitely worth the wait. Ducktales has such a history that I'm glad you were able to cover a good chunk of it here. Although would Goldie count as a villain? She did swindle Scrooge a few times in the comics and steal the one thing he can't get back but that was a blindsiding the censors moment. I'm just glad the reboot wasn't a dumpster fire like so many others. Am I mad at some changes? Yes but it is minor! The people who worked on the show did their homework and made it its own thing.

I remember one story in the comics where the writer actually remembered that originally Magica DeSpell wasn't specifically after Scrooge's first dime, but was collecting coins from rich people in general to make a magic talisman (Scrooge's dime, being the first coin earned by the richest duck in the world, had the most magical potential but she had before that already collected a bunch of other coins), and had Magica decide to give up on trying to get Scrooge's dime and use the coins she already had to make an amulet that didn't give her the Midas touch but still made her extremely rich. However, at that point she had gotten so used to trying to steal the dime that she couldn't enjoy her newfound riches and by the end of the story went back to antagonizing Scrooge.
It's also interesting how in the European (mostly Italian) comics Rockerduck is the primary rival for Scrooge and Glomgold is pretty much never seen, while Barks only used him once and Don Rosa only had him appear as a child in "the Live and Times of Scrooge mcDuck" (Rosa instead used Glomgold as a rival to Scroge in multiple stories). Might have just been that since Glomgold was established to live in South Africa the Italian writers felt it made more sense to use Rockerduck since they could have him live in Duckburg and interact with Scrooge in person more easily (in a lot of stories they're both members of the billionaires' club and get into some argument at the club which then kicks off the story). Despite both characters filling the same narrative role they are actually portrayed quite differently. Glomgold is usually either competing with Scrooge to prove who is richer or chasing after the same treasure, and is much more of an actual villain, frequently trying to kill off Scrooge. Rockerduck's and Scrooge's rivalry does occasionally consist of them challenging each other to prove their wealth by doing something but frequently consists of them having competing businesses and trying to drive the other out of business. He's willing to resort to dirty tricks but doesn't seem like he'd actually want to kill anybody, and he's very rarely shown to be interested in treasure-hunting.

I don't see Glomgold as being so much dumb, more as danger to himself and others levels of mentally unstable. Like have you ever lost your temper and did something without thinking? That's him 24/7. Way I see it, I think something happened in his early life as Duke Baloney was traumatic and he tried to turn it around to make money to leave South Africa or needing money to survive. Something that would absolutely break him when Scrooge gave him the dime. Which makes the Ballad episode so tragic. He's so blindly hateful of Scrooge for that one misunderstood moment back all the way when he was a child that wanting revenge ruined his life and drove him to insanity. Just not a Joker level of higher clarity and becoming a deviously brilliant monster. Just a crazy little goofball that just wants to see Scrooge die painfully. Him dancing to "All I do is Win" was him getting that closure.
