Cole’s best verse vs Kendrick’s would be a better match. Don’t think Cole took it as competition. Clearly on how hard Kendrick went on Cole’s track shows how much respect he got for Cole

Here are some. He has plenty verses better than Kendrick. I’m a huge Kendrick fan too but Cole hits different. If anything Kendrick got more flows however Cole showed he can do that if he wanted to too in JID - Off Deez ft Cole. Rhyme patterns, flows, cadence u name it everything there. I know we all like to compare rappers but these two are great in their own way and when ppl say Cole ain’t as great as that’s when it becomes silly cos clearly either u don’t have knowledge of rap or u haven’t listened to Cole properly
I think coles approach to the track was different than kendricks. Kendrick was going for straight bars and jcole was trying to make a song, I think kenndricks beat was better to showcase bars too

For me it’s almost a little bias towards Kendricks verse being better, BUT A lot of that comes from the fact he was on Coles beat, which is the better beat imo. That plays a part too right

I like your train of thought about that whole thing on how you basically forget coles song after hearing kendrick on it, but you can still hear Lamars song after cole layed his verse on it. BUT that opens up another question, is that because kendricks original song is better than coles original, or atleast more catchy ? this was dope, but I agree that Kendrick won, IF we're looking at this like a competition.
