    Hello again. Thank you for purchasing my mod and doing this video. I like watching these videos and getting input from the people playing.
    I didn't notice the description needed to be spaced better. The CK gives you a small box to type into and I was focused on the writing. I'll fix that. I had the park and lounge brighter but during QA Bethesda said they were too bright. Going to go over them again and make them a little brighter. The lighting in this CK is weird it looks darker in the CK than it does in the game for some reason. The glitchy light in the hallway is the way that piece looks, will try something else if possible. The glitchy ground in the park under the blocks I didn't even notice that and will fix. The blocks in the park are sized so if a player wants a ladder to come up through the floor only the ones where the ladder appears are removed. Same way with all of the floor tiles. I'll look at the one blocks by the fore and aft doors too.
    I did have an orientation in mind when these were built but wanted to give people the freedom to build the way they want so I didn't mark them. The way I had them planned was two hallways on top of each other with the lounge above the captain's quarters on the starboard side. The park is above the crew quarters on the Port side the lift can be in fore or aft position connected to hallways And then the cockpit. If you're using the Cabot bridge you wouldn't need the lift. The lift has a skylight in it which is why you can't connect there. I need to get rid of the bottom connection too. The ladder inside wasn't part of the plan.
    I do plan on adding more to this mod as time goes by (not because this is a paid mod but, because that's what I do with a lot of my mods.) More lifts can be in there too. Maybe not the 2x2 but I can do the 1x1x3 for sure. I'll add some kind of light to the light switches to make them easier to find. There are 8 in the captain's and 5 in the crew quarters. There are 2 switches in the Cabot, both in Captains office and 2 switches in the Ares one in armory and the other in the Captian's office. I will set the light to be on by default. That's kind of a problem with making your own switches. One of my fallout 4 mods had an underground bunker in a playerhome you opened with a book on a bookshelf and half of the people missed it completely.
    To answer your question on time in this. 500 hours.

      Hi I just purchased the mod and its great, but it is way way WAY too dark, compared to all the other rooms, I've had to place 25 lights in a single room and still too dark. I beg you please fix at as soon as you can. Thanks :)

      @@oliviaturnak7753 I'm working on that and other fixes too. Plus a remake of the elevators, a new 2x2x2 setup a 2x2x3 and a 2x2x4. I should be resubmiting to Bethesda in a few hours for review, hopefully Bethesda will get it up by tomorrow. I didn't plan on it being dark like this. I had my brightness turned up in game and that made things look brighter for me during testing.

    It's nice to see the mod author doing something other than just that REV 8 hangar. I love the new Aries Bridge module I can't really put any of the new modules on my current ship so I'll have to view them through this video, either way I'm happy. Your videos are a good way for me to figure out which mods are worth it and which ones aren't so keep up the good work!

      Thank you. I have the same problem too. Had to build a new ship for these pieces. I just couldn't bring myself to tear apart my old ship. Fortunately, it's easy to steal ships.

    Great review. Very objective and your reviews really help to decide whether or not to spend on a paid mod. To me, i feel this is worth 5bucks but probably wouldnt have bought it without your detailed review.... cheers

    Coffee time! Dead accurate conclusions. There are many more light switches, but for sure should be “on” by default. As a purchaser, I definitely have buyers remorse. It’s cool, it’s parts, but it needs some work. Great video.

    There’s an abundance of light switches many of which he dragged his mouse over and didn’t notice due to the frantic pace ahead moves at. There are light switches everywhere to give you more control of amount of lighting you want in my opinion.

      I dont use a mouse, and the lights should be on by default. I'd rather not go fumbling in the dark just to increase the brightness by a small amount

    many people want that dark ship look as in The Expanse! there is even a mod they use that darkens their ships. please continue to be as critical as you were with this mod as you are with future reviews esp for paid mods.

      I tried that mod that darkens ship interiors. I really liked the effect on my ships but was completely turned off by having to board ships to capture and they being dark also, so I removed the mod. If the author ever updated the mod so that ships that are Not yet captured are lit normally, then I will download it again!

      Yes I even get the weather effects of Neon in my game, don't remember them being so annoying maybe a mod I have or my graphics settings are effecting them.

    That captains quarters are exactly what I thought they should look like! Supposed to be spacious, relaxing and luxurious. I will go looking for this mod.

    I really like the look of the Trident habs, but I only have a couple of things that stand out, I think the lift habs are to narrow, (Bumping into crew mates or it being blocked by your companions) The habs look amazing, but I do agree they do appear to be to dark.
    Apart from those two issues, I think this Trident mod is amazing 😊

      Thank you. Going to redo the lighting. i didn't plan on it being so dark. I have my brightness turn up a bit so that may have affected it. The lift I can't change. Going to be adding more in the future so I'll keep this in mind.

    I really like the habs but, as you say, there is often only one "good" direction to enter some of them. I see that on lots of custom mods as well. It's one of the reasons I made my layouts. I hope the author adds more alts later. Of course, with top windows those habs need to be on your top deck so you really can't just add them to any ship as much as design your ship around them.
    It would be cool if you could purchase a ship where the habs are used like VoHaul did. I wouldn't be surprised if the author actually had such a ship designed around them already.
    And yeah, they are pretty freaking dark but with lit highlights. I have Rabbit's super dark night ini settings so that may make it worse if there isn't some way to insulate hab lighting from exterior conditions better with the light volume settings. The interior light options from decorating are usually really dim unless you add floodlights sitting on the floor which probably wouldn't be ideal. I may go into CK and add an omni light source to the center just to see how that works. I temporarily did that for my layout screenshots to see the details better.
    In the CK you could also raise or lower an object's z axis by very small increments which may get rid of the texture z-fighting. When decorating that can happen when putting rugs on certain floors but can only avoid it by fiddling with the position until it floats a tiny bit on top of something else to raise it.
    Also, Matilija's Aerospace has the lifts for levels 3-6 but not 2 levels and they are still a bit of a work in progress. I really like the small platform better like this mod has though since it's easy to walk around. I wonder if the crew uses this lift or if they need an alt route to get between levels.

      Thank you. I do plan on adding Alts and other things to this as time goes on, I do that with a lot of my mods. I tried to make these so it didn't matter where the door was but couldn't fit everything in the + space in the middle of the 2x2s. There are areas where a door would be better. That's kind of how the vanillas are too though. The Park is the only one built where it doesn't matter.
      The problem with the ext lighting is when you're on the pad the lights on the pad will also light up the int of the ship too because they don't disappear when you enter the ship. I'm going to redo the lighting in this, Bethesda's QA told me they were too bright and I redid them. I'm starting to think they have their brightness turned up too much on their end. I have mine turned up a little too which is probably why this is darker than planned. That's why I watch other's videos.
      The crew doesn't use the lift. Hab building is a lot different than player homes, stories, and quest which is what I'm good at. This was my first time building habs and is the first one with working light switches that I know of. I thought it would be the first elevator too. I have been working on this since July.

    I bought this mod yesterday, really nice habs. One of my ships now has the diners and the swimming pool upstairs. Gotta be careful on those grav jumps though, LOL. This looks more detailed than the Xbox version.

As far as this mod I will probably buy it based on your outstanding review but I will wait till the mod author updates the lighting issues and especially that chair clipping with desk in the cockpit when you sit down.     Thanks so much for reviewing this mod, I am keen on more mods that make the ship functional and the idea behind this mod definitely lands in that direction (love the park and bar habs and crew quarters in particular, I found it hard to see was there water in the park and was there anything in the fish tank like tank in the captain's area? Was the computer in the bridge interactable?), I played the free mod this modder has released and it is almost always in my ship design and I look forward to what they add in both, quite sure I've played one or more of the fallout 4 mods too. As far as custom ship habs go. I've also played the DP Aerospace mod and the Matilija's Aerospace mods by others. Both have some awesome habs and quite interactable too (love the glass roofed bars and lifts in the latter and the pool in the former though it is sometimes buggy, it has working showers and toilets too, captains quarters is cool as well! I think the aesthetic of it matches this paid mod a bit), I've challenged myself in trying to use these mods without any base game habs (except for ones utilising the free infirmary mod, Brigs mod and Paid mealtime mod) and incorporate Owl Tech work habs (which are brilliant) as well for a fully interactable and custom ship.
    Edit: Ended up getting this as there were some real interesting ideas I wanted to run with. For me in-game the lighting was better looking at the modules so perhaps all the proposed changes have happened now or I was just in good viewing conditions, I didn't notice issues in the park this time and got a great view of the Neon spaceport skyline through the roof. In the hallway still a tiny bit of "light humming??" (not sure how to describe that) but not when I am still (only when moving) and not like in this video. I liked the displays in that room the drinking horn for example. A request that can be totally ignored or perhaps an idea how to make that edit myself with the console if possible. I'd love that extra chair in the ares bridge in front of the navigation console to be usable by crew as it is pushed into the desk and not usable, I'd see it as a first officer's station given the placement and since the right hand side copilot seat is not accessible by design it would be good to have utility in the center rather than just the sides, which was always the issue I had with that range of bridges. Not sure if it was noticeable in this video either, I couldn't see it, but the room's roof is also see through in the bar/lounge. Being in Neon though it was much easier to see and that may have had positive impact on the lighting for me as well.

      There's also a luxury habs mod for free that gives a bar, pool, mess hall, armory and living area as well as, an admittedly smaller, captains quarters. The only draw this has is the cockpits and the garden and the captains quarters if you want a bigger space. That's two habs and two cockpits? Not worth $5.

    Thanks to @Grooves_Games for the mod and @Crimson for the commentary.
    Raves; The Bridges and the Lift. You used my two favorite bridges and made the dead/empty spaces more functional. The lift is great, see below!
    Not so Happy With; everything else. Yes, you did phenomenal work on the decorations but it was hidden by the dark ambiance. Yes the light switches were found later but you have to make that 'stunning' first impression. I'm not sure if you could add a 'glowing' effect to the switches to make it more self evident, but that is what I would suggest.
    Hopeful Improvements; The Lift. OK, the 1x1x2 lift is good, but additional 1x1x3 & 1x1x4 habs would be great. Crimson hit on a 2x2xX series of habs for lifts, but I believe that a 1x2xX series (or even 2x1xX (habs rotated horizontally)) of lifts would actually be better, side by side and either both are bi-directional or 1 goes up and the other goes down.
    Remember, these are my thoughts and given in the hope of improving the final results.

Going to add a light or something to the switches and going to make them on by default. I going to add more to this as time goes on. Some taller lifts for sure and trying to figure out an anti-gravity lift too. Don't know about the 2x2x and the 2x1x lifts. They wouldn't be possible without creating a new Ext hab in Blender and I'm not good with Bender yet. The ones in the game already can't be rotated due to doors being different for Aft/Fore and Port/STBD.

    I think one thing that Bethesda missed out on was the fact that trident cruise lines does exist, and the only interaction you ever get with it is through the crimson fleet quest line. I think somebody needs to make a mod where we get to have that experience, by purchasing a ticket so we can go and have our own Trident Cruise experience on the "Blackest Sea" without it being quest related. These habs do look good, but also we should be able to build a ship that big.

      Even after a dispatching spaces or whoever it is you'd be able to get a free trip afterwards anytime throughout the game as long as you don't go through the unity.

    I definitely like how the habs look, hate how it seems like everyone who makes luxury habs use the Deimos hab model and not the Stroud hab model simply because the Deimos habs, true to the lore look utilitarian and modular, where the Stroud habs seem to flow into each other much better. That's just a personal gripe though, but still keep me from purchasing it, along with the texture and light flickering in some places.
    Definitely think the lights should be tweaked to light up more, and be on by default.
    But that lift... i would definitely pay some credits to get a mod pack of that with the various sizes like you mentioned, and preferably with different exterior hab models as well.

      I personally like the Stroud habs and structure pieces, most of my ships are built with them. I started this with them but, had to redo this mod for the lore. A company like Trident would choose Deimos over the other companies since Deimos has govt. contracts and would be more cost-effective to use to increase Trident's profit margin. Hope Tech couldn't be used because they wouldn't be going out of business then and Stroud, Taiyo and Nova would cost too much and would hurt profit margin. Capitalism in space. I did have plans to do some Crimson Raiders habs using the Stroud habs But, Eli beat me to it

    Its a good mod, with lots of unique options. The esthetic is great and I have some new ideas for self decorating some habs. The bridges are especially awesome! The lighting is a killer though. I understand the bar area being a little dark, but it should be lighter than it is. The rest of the habs need to come up a bit.

      Thank you. I'm going to redo the lighting. I have my in-game brightness turned up a little and I think that affected it. I didn't plan on them being this dark. I may get rid of the connection point on the bottom too, maybe. I didn't plan on there being connections because it would add the ladders I was wanting to get rid of. After seeing the one on this video I don't know now. I may just add the top connection.

    The texture is called Z-fighting. Its when two, or more, textures are overlapped at the same exact z level. Each texture fights to be on top. If one texture is changed by a tiny amount you can often stop it without noticing that they are no longer technically level. Like if the object in question can be targeted in the console you could modpos z 0.0001 and it will stop the flickering. At least in the F4 CK (and xEdit) it was a pretty simple fix. No idea about Starfields versions of the CK. It can be hard to notice it in the CK itself though and even when playtesting it can slip through since sometimes it really depends on what angle you are looking at it.

    Good video. I’m just going to get to some hearts. I think you should make a video or live stream of decorating five or six blank habs like you personally are trying to make a buck or two to the quality of the mod here in question and then ask yourself if it’s worth five dollars. I think you should be very clear if you’re reviewing a mod that was given to you, or you actually spent your money. I think familiarity with a mod would be far better than making em, guesses. Because one persons trash will forever be another’s treasure and no one is anyone to tell, sway or even persuade another person how to spend their monies 💯😉

    Really nice work, a little too dark and maybe a little to expensive, if the lighting gets fixed and it was maybe 2 or 300 I'd get it. It no doubt was a lot of work to make and I i like to see modders make money, which encourages them to make more.

    I like the lift being a small hole in the middle of the room rather than taking up a huge amount of the habs space, also removing snap points sadly means you cant attach other parts to those sides, which makes it difficult to make use of the hab if to many sections have their snaps removed.

    I agree with that initial comment, that for established free modders, that paid mod is a great way to say thanks. I do have a real issue with the pricings. When you compare what some of these new modders are asking and comparing to the pricings of long established paid mods, the ask is simply not reasonable.
    It's even worse when you see mods that are essentially just a variation of something that is already out for free. Or the mod doesn't represent something that is unique intellectual property that anyone can put out. What we are seeing now is not good for the paid mod concept. It sours the market and hurts people like Elianora, Wulfy or TankGirl who give excellent value and quality.

    Matilija aerospace mod had a great set of lifts and tons more cool stuff, this mod creator made cool habs but that don't mean anything if you can't see them for a paid mod to need a torch to seem anything it's crazy isn't there any quality control

    The mod was finally updated today. Lighting and other improvements were made. The jukebox is still the same because setting it to shut off the previous selection isn't possible in the CK. I built it because I wanted the music from the Key and Astro lounge on my ship and figured others might like it too. If anyone sees anything else, leave a comment. My beta testers didn't see anything. I should have ran this by them the first time but, thought Bethesda would've done better. My bad.     By now, I would think you would learn to make your entry point through the floor when setting up these habs as opposed to choosing a side and then having to go back and switch the side so you can profile what you cut out by going through the wall

      It's clear these habs are meant to be entered a specific way. Going from below would remove a lot more items. Not to mention a lot of the habs we are getting recently, and all have unique sides they want you to enter

Giving the people watching the channel a clear picture of all the unique sides so we can choose which one we want to enter is better. I’ve seen habs where all the entry points had something pretty cool in them and it’s a matter of what side the user decided to loose. Great content. Thanks!

    i think what it means by Nova AND Deimos is that the first SET of HABS is from Deimos and the 2nd SET will be from Nova thats how i see it

    It's a good mod I tried it out the habs are very dark I had to use the lighting mod to correct this all in all 5$ is a little pricey but I dont mind supporting mod authors for their work I also have a hab mod that has a swimming pool I have a very classy ship now. Also to note I only noticed 1 bridge not 2 that could be on me.

    For 200 credits, it may be worth an investment, however the texture flicker is personally a deal breaker. These are some nice looking habs, but as people generally build from the outside of the ship working towards the decorating of the interior, this might as well just be a modded ship for sale with some shipbuilder content. You can't really design or decorate with a mod such as this. I see it as one time use content... For 500.

    The way games handle lights it is really important to establish a working level of base ambient light for an area. Otherwise you get that effect of "small cones of light in an abyss". It is really jarring. The textures flickering and whatnot could be addressed by doing playtesting of the mod, and adjusting the position of things until they settle in the engine; basically, if you can reach an area in the game and look in a direction then you should do it as part of a final pass through of testing.

    Hmmmm yeah I mean at 5 bucks is any of it novel? Idk tbh to me the biggest draws would be the 2x2 captains quarters since that's not a thing in vanilla I'm pretty sure and the garden as well as the cockpits. The free luxury habs mod gives a bar, pool and living area and while there are some bad placement points for doors it's got options for sure on all of them. The lift/elevator isn't really a new thing either as that's available through Matijilla (not sure I spelled that right) who does have multi-floor options and you can build on top, so with the small imperfections which I would otherwise ignore and the lighting issues I think I'll have to pass on the $5 price tag. Which is a bit of a shame as I do have a luxury liner type ship that these would be cool to have on, but again wouldn't be using the bar, probably not the lift as it's too restrictive and Idk that the hallway matters too me one way or another, like I would probably use it if I bought the mod but it's not really stand out to me.

    If the Lighting is this bad as shown in this vid then it doesn't matter "how cool" the setup of the habs are. Being this dark is a showstopper for me. Wouldn't matter if it was even free. Just doesn't make sense?? Maybe the author can fix it going forward. And to your last comment about changing the price....I did see recently a mod that had a discount banner on it. Don't remember which one. If I was wanting to add a new ship parts mod I would be looking at the Stroud Premium over this one.

    I guess inflation is a thing for video game stuff. So crazy that the base game is still 70 bucks on steam as of Oct of 2024.

      Unless you want to use the script extender, getting gamepass ans playing on xbox or pc is far more convenient and cheaper atleast short term

      I always wondered about that too. The Trident station seems like a lot of effort for just one small side quest. Maybe it's meant for an expansion some day like a complete "official" set of Trident ships and habs from Bethesda. I hope so!

    That flickering is called z-fighting. It's a common texture interaction error.
    - The lighting is very bad to me, switches should be on by default. Ever with the switches on, it's way too dark.
    - The buttons not stopping a previous select is poor design.
    - Where there are preferred door placement and no door placement, and small indication on the hab exterior is really needed. It can be subtle, but is really needed, and well as flip / rotated versions.
    - The lift is an interesting idea that I would find annoying almost immediately.
    - The pilot seat is too stripped down to me. It looks much cheaper that the rest of the design.
    This mod needs improvement for the price.
    Addittionally for Bethesda/Creations; no feedback / commons / bug reporting / up vote, down vote is really making creations a bad experience.

    i DONT MIND paid mods BUT there should be at LEAST two options download the mods like you normally do OR if you like it BUY it because you might buy the wrong mod and waste your credits

    Thanks for the review on it, going to pass for now, maybe the author will make some updates that'll make it worth it in the future for me, but it looks like too little for what you pay.

    Id rather have it too dark than too bright... you can add lights you cant take them away.... for instance they added lights to the pool in the luxurious habs mod an now its waayyyy too bright and even bleeds into other habs now and theres no way to get rid of it... when it was darker i liked being able to make it how bright i want ... this mod is a pass for me because i have many deco mods and can make far nicer habs myself.... not enough bang for the buck tbh

    For $5, I expect full faction questlines. The prices of paid mods getting at ridiculous amounts. This is worth $1 or $2 at most.
