Thank you Gina and congratulation’s on your wedding. My husband and I love to watch you try out all the flutes. we love to hear you play!!! I play flute too but I’m not even close to your level. My husband heard you play your new bass flute just now and he said that sounds so beautiful!!! I loved it too!!!!!
First, I would like to say congratulations on your wedding!! I wish you both a long, loving life together!!! Next, this flute sounds amazing. I know the feeling with you find something that is just perfect. It just throws off your normal method. But, with your experience with flutes, when it happens, it happens. The sounds are so sweat. I’m finally getting ready to buy my first bass flute. Your videos on piccolos led me to an awesome piccolo. Yes, my first after playing my flute for over 3 decades. But I don’t perform as much as you do. But I have had good responses on my tone. So, with my symphony flute, alto flute, and piccolo, it is time for adding a bass flute. It is your fault, for I love your renditions of songs I just love. But you know that! Keep up your beautiful reviews!
Congrats on your wedding and your new bass flute! Something similar happened when I upgraded from my Gemeinhardt to my Altus. My Altus was the second flute that I tried and it ended up being the one that I got.
Hi Gina! Never actually said hello before but I have enjoyed your content for quite a while now. Congratulations on getting married and on the bass! They ARE awesome. I had a bass and a custom alto (low B, Au plated) made by Sankyo for me a couple of years back and they are amazing. I hope eventually to be able to do them justice the way you already are! Thank you again.
A lot of people keep their social life off of UA-cam so I’m glad that you mention that because when you said my husband I was like when did she get married I remember he was your boyfriend I remember you had that video but now he’s husband so congratulations
Hello, and congrats on your Sankyo Bass Flute - which, Headjoint does this have? I am led to believe that, this ia 100% Nickel baed instrument, is that correct? may I ascertain information about the Embouchure Hole please: is the embouchure hole similar to the Yamaha B441 MkII, was the Yamaha embouchure hole more rectangular? compared with the Sankyo B101 Bass Flute? I am interested in materials which are used in instruments, for example, as a Bb Trumpet/ Cornet / Flugelhorn, and, Mellophone in F player, I do not want to alter the embouchure, but, need an instrument which, plays at the lower frequencies, and, the B2 Register included; thus, began my journey of exploration of Bass Flutes, and, recognised that the lower intermediate type Bass Flutes of various manufacturers either have many a characteristic missing, or, they are not responsive, or, the cases are poor, or, do not possess the B Foot, and, some do not have Trill Keys and the Split E mech. May I ascertain all of the Trill Keys, and, as to whether or not, it has the E Mech? this will be useful; and, if at all possible the sound with each of the Trill Keys and the Split E? I look forward to hearing from you and learning more. Thanking you in advance. Regards.
Hello Gina, I’m a flute player and have been for four years and I’ve been considering switching to bass flute. It’s look and sounds like a wonderful instrument and it fascinates me. I’ve seen several videos explaining the bass flute including yours and I was wondering if you have ever played bass flute in a concert band. I understand it’s not very common but do you think it could be done? Thank you so much!
Congrats Gina!! I just wonder if you'd do a comparison between the Trevor James and the Sankyo bass flutes, and possibly their altos as well? I know you quite like the low flute for both brands so I'm curious. -Josh from Patreon
I am definitely going to get one but unfortunately most of the time I’m playing bass, I’m switching between flutes in the middle of pieces or cues and don’t have time to move the stand on and off sadly
Genuine question, but how fast could a flutist/flautist, in theory, play a bass or lower flute? If you’re wondering why I’m asking, I’m a hobby-based composer with little experience in flute playing, I just started this year.
Ive wanted a bass flute for years. But unlike bass guitars, you can't walk into any pawnshop in the country and try one out, much less take one (or two) for $100.
I liked your video but it would’ve been really nice for you to play it. I know you didn’t play for about 30 seconds but it would’ve been nice to hear a lot more than that.
Seriously, quit the schooled intellectual music game, learn to meditate in a Himalayan cave (or your house) and play that awesome flute from a higher state of consciousness and see what happens! Respectfully Imo. ;-)
I love that low B foot joint, too.

I heard it comes with a support pole. Have you tried that out as is it useful to you? I would love to see a video of how the support pole works.
I want a bass flute one day
They are so fun to play!
@@GinaLuciani but so expensive

Do you have a bass lap stand? Helps me so much!
I am definitely going to get one but unfortunately most of the time I’m playing bass, I’m switching between flutes in the middle of pieces or cues and don’t have time to move the stand on and off sadly
they are so expensive :( I only have a $60 flute but some day I hope to afford a bass flute like this. Sounds so so beautiful
