What a SUPER performance! I did this in high school as a percussionist, and I MUST give kudos to Mr. Blackman for maintaining tempo! (As I'm sure he well knows, this can turn into a runaway train!) GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!!!
That was excellent. My symphonic band played this in high school as well (30 years ago =-O) and I had the dubious honor of the infamous drum solo in this song. Trust me, It is a lot harder than it sounds. I do like the subtle nuance reflected in this band's presentation. The drummer is excellent. Great job.
Wow what great memories . I played the drums on this number in my senior year in high school ( many many years ago ) @ North Dorchester High School in Hurlock Md in 1982 . Out of all the versions of this great song this is just how we played it, including the extended drum solo which my band teacher just let me play as long as I wanted ( well it was my idea...LOL ) Thanks for uploading this.
@danodanodano357 Hey - so glad you enjoyed it! It really is a fun tune, and the kids did a nice job. Hope you had a good musical experience growing up in Dorchester County (from a fellow Marylander!).
wowowow, our sheet music doesn't include a pause for this mad lengthy drum solo LOL then again, I've never seen any parts outside the saxophone section for this...
wow soooooo goood! ....🥰👏👏👏👏💐💐💐💐

My goodness - thank you!!!! It's a terrific group of kids.

You need a kick ass drummer and a powerful lead Trumpet for this song. Great memories from highschool, thanks for posting

PERFECT *-*
@Andreyqbb Wow, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
you don't need to :p ask your conductor to slam a drum solo into it :D i'll post a reply of us playing it on concerttrip once it's done :D
Controlled, but felt less fever.
The percussion solo was super, but a little bit long. It would be better, if we could see the orchestra and the drum player too.
2025 be like
funny
Its very nice ! But i think the drum solo is much too long ;s
one trumpet fails at the beginning
Really great, but i think the drum solo wasn't so great. A little bit...boring;) but your kids did a nice Job :D
指揮も演奏もイケてないな。
