Great walk through Mark. Love your patience and the depth you bring to reviews. I have not had this release. Honestly I've been listing to too many voices saying don't get the newer releases. I think it's time I brought this home! Cheers!

Kudos on another comprehensive review Mark.
I fell in love with the A'Bunadh Alba a short while back. For $85 US and at 57% ABV, it's worth every last penny..!!!

Excellent review, Mark. My personal favourite is batch 59 as well. It hands down was the winner of my blind tasting of cask strength sherry bombs. In the new batches, I detect a bit of youthfulness as compared to 59. Still a really delightful dram though, and definitely worth $105 CAD. Cheers from Windsor, the best Canadian city that starts with W 🤭🇨🇦🥃

Wow Mark glad to see this review, of a real pioneer of cask strength releases for all scotches . The deal is I think they do taste younger as time and the releases get into the 70’s. I still have some 36 open and the 55, the 62 and the 70 also. They are all distinctly different but all sherry blasters of their own right. Always enjoy these releases and shows how great a Speyside ‘blend filler’ distillery can make a beautiful product for the enthusiast!! Cheers and thanks!!🥃🥃🥃🥃

Thanks Graeme always a super substantial comment my friend! Wow what’s 36 like??
It seems price is the main consideration people are talking about. What’s it priced like in NB? 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃

@@WhiskyWhistle the current A’bunadh is $110 here. I need to get one soon. The 36 has been open several years I would say, maybe 10! It is velvety, darkest raisin, a wine tannic note, and still young youthful red ripe fruits. Excellent stuff!

Have a bottle of batch 71 that I just cracked. Love it and love the room you have to experiment with water. One of the best bang for you buck in Manitoba

Hi Adam thanks for the comment! Glad you got one. Absolutely right - factored for abv it’s like a 40% whisky for 66 dollars but tastes like a $120 dollar whisky…and you get a bottle and a half. Cheers🥃🥃🥃🥃

My favorite whisky! This was my first cask strength, and I fell in love right away. I have batches 58, 60 and 63 - all are fantastic! I got them for around CAD105 each. Sadly, prices have crept up here in the Philippines. Newer batches are CAD145 to CAD160. I have yet to open my bottle of Casg Annamh batch 4. I'm hoping it's a suitable and cheaper replacement for the A'bunadh.

    • @WhiskyWhistle
      @WhiskyWhistle  2 роки тому +1

Hi Jaime, sorry to hear about the price there! There was a moment here they wanted $130 plus tax for it…maybe one or two years ago. Now it’s $112 all in in MB and $105 or so in Ontario. I’m curious of the Casg Annamh…
      Cheers🥃🥃🥃🥃

My experience with A'bunadh was that it is incredibly complex, like a butterfly still in its cocoon but ever so close to emerging. It does take some coaxing and is really the only Scotch I add quality water to enhance the experience.

I watched the FULL festival 2 vid you put out! Great stuff! Looked like so much fun! I have 2 questions for you that I took away from it, and so not to wax lyrical .. I'll get right to it..
    1) Re: The Bowmore 21 Astin Martin .. are they releasing it at the Manitoba Liquor marts anytime soon? I'm curious as to why it was at the festival but not in store.
    2) What was that weird face you gave Brandon when he told that woman that 44 her is her number? LOL It left me confused!

Lang Toun you may be right in other countries where prices are $100 USD and over. In that case Glenallachie 10 is a better value!! Here at $65-70 USD I am very pleased. Cheers🥃🥃🥃🥃

Exactly, nothing officially given. Any allusions to that effect were purely based on sensory information. Cheers🥃🥃🥃
