    I was waiting for this! My favourite scotch. Sometimes difficult to get but I enjoy it when I can. Agree price seems to creep up continuously.
    The profile is unique & you guys forgot the story of why this flavour profile was created! "The term A’bunadh is Scotch Gaelic, and means “of the origins.” In 1975, during the installation of two new stills, workmen discovered a time capsule that contained a bottle of Aberlour with a newspaper from 1898 wrapped around it. A’bunadh is an attempt to re-create the style of Aberlour whisky from that period."

    This is one of my favorites. I find it for 85$ and it’s so unique. When compared to other scotches I think it’s an easy value.

    Spot on guys. This is the first scotch I enjoyed as a bourbon drinker. Opened the door to many other scotches as I learned to appreciate the sherry and malt notes. Great review

    A'bunadh is very nice. For me it's different than Aberlour 12 but not necessarily better... especially for the price difference.

    I’ve heard a rumour that in the UK they’ve resized it to a 500mL & it’s more expensive than the current 700/750mL.

    Highly recommend trying a drop of water in this one. Opens up the flavours and fixes the ethanol issues. One of my all time favourite scotches. I have several unopened bottles from different batches for a future A'Bunadh tasting night

    Have you guys had any of the older batches? Supposedly the 40s and earlier are far better but I've yet to try one. The earliest I've had was in the 50s and it smelled and tasted like green onion...in a bad way; normally I really enjoy A'nunadh. BTW, if you can get the 10yr sherry matured Town Branch malt you need to, it's A'bunadh on steroids.

      @@roscoepcoltrane23 Oof, couldn't disagree more. I have Ardbeg 10 and Ardbeg Corryvrecken. Both are great but I wouldn't call them approachable. Talisker 10 is delightful. I literally love it. Maybe you'll love the Ardbeg straight away and the 10 is definitely cheaper than Talisker. Here's the difference to me: Ardbeg is a little like scotch that someone put a cigarette out in. It's ashy in its peatiness. Talisker is like scotch that someone dipped brisket into. It's smoky but not ashy, more campfire. I'd go Talisker first. If you love it, move to Ardbeg. Lagavulin is similarly ashy (the 16, haven't tried the 11). Just FYI, Talisker isn't an Islay, it's an Island. Nerdy but almost the opposite side of Scotland. Enjoy!

    • @roscoepcoltrane23
      @roscoepcoltrane23 3 роки тому +1

      @@joeybravo6413 Thanks. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Talisker. I like in Kentucky and if you ask someone about scotch they look at you like your an idiot. Why would you drink that is what I hear a lot. I like a lot of the blended scotch I’ve tried so I figured I’d try something different.

    You guys get ridiculous with your bottle aesthetics. Just because it's different doesn't mean it's good. I could put some whiskey in an asshole decanter. It's different, but it doesn't mean it's a good presentation. Just because a bottle is wide doesn't mean it's good looking. Plenty of other scotches have wide bottles, ie Port Charlotte, Highland Park, etc. Nothing about the Aberlour bottle has ever caught my eye. It's average.

    • @jawshu
      @jawshu 3 роки тому +3

      Disagree, Aberlour has the best bottles in scotch, maybe all of whiskey IMO. Not sure why exactly though, something about the simplicity of the design and the fat lip

    • @Vortex1988
      @Vortex1988 3 роки тому

      @@jawshu A clear bottle in a beige tin... How exciting... The scotches that have always stood out on a shelf to me are Ardbeg and Talisker. Their packaging is actually colorful and eye catching. Talisker with its shades of blue and crashing waves over Rocky shores on the box, and Ardbeg with it's dark green aesthetic with gold contrasting highlights. Both make much more of an impression than anything from Aberlour imo. I think I could say the same for Glendronach as well. Each Glendronach bottle is a different color, representing the age of the particular bottle, while still exuding pure class and simplicity. Way more impressive than Aberlour's aesthetics.
