  • In this video, we'll provide a thorough breakdown of the Didache. We'll talk about what it is and how it was used in ancient times.
    Excerpt:
One of the earliest Christian texts from the era immediately following the Apostles is the Didache (did-uh-KAY), a Greek term which means """"teaching"""" The translation of its longer and earlier title is """"The Teaching of the Lord Through the Apostles to the Nations.""""

One intriguing aspect of the Didache is a detail the book's authors left out. The NT gospels all discuss the "this is my body, this is my blood" oratory at the last supper. The Didache doesn't cite that ritual. This led to centuries of discussion, and conflict between various Christian sects regarding transubstantiation. The earliest Christians apparently took the gospel writings as analogous rather than something to be taken literally.

The Didache (Teaching) shows the earliest and most genuine form of Christianity though referred to just a “manual” or what seems to be very likely the case. How did this very simple form of worship, living “evolve” into a very complex philosophical and philological system filled with excessive analysis, conflicts, struggles … killings.. amongst so called “Christians” in the name of their “faith?” No offense here, also I appreciate your channel and videos! Most educational, keep it going (and always GOD Bless!)🙏❤️☀️How did LOVE one another become a chemistry laboratory of sorts, toxic nonetheless? 🙏❤️☀️

It was always like that. Paul's epistles are have a lot of him scolding people. Also, humans are violent. If countries become Christians they would still be violent. It doesn't mean it's Christianity itself it's just people who happen to be Christians at least officially.
It's like saying Christians invaded Iraq because George Bush is officially Christian.

Imo, it's because people were led away from the Church, the Orthodox Church.
Pride is the root of all sin. The Oriental Orthodox of the time would rather hold to their Christology than be united with the Church. The bishop of Rome in 1054 decided that his personal theology and pride was more important than keeping the Church unified.
Martin Lituer created 1,000 little popes, and since then, every man that thinks he's a theological genius starts his own little-c church.
And the Vatican has continued to badtardize their church.
Meanwhile, the Orthodox Church preserves the traditions, teachings, and sacrements of the Church Christ founded.
If the elaborate clothing and decorations seem like an invention, look up an Orthodox Jewish Sabbat service. The resemblance is uncanny.

      It describes the following:
-Baptism of adults only (those who can fast), preferably by immersion and only by sprinkling if there isn’t enough water to immerse someone
-A simple church structure with only bishops and deacons (no priests and no inter-church hierarchy; no pope)
-No reference to transubstantiation, despite extensive discussion of the Eucharist
-Confession is described as ordinary confession among members, not liturgical confession to a priest
-No reference to reverence of or praying to dead saints; no reference to Mary
That doesn’t sound very Catholic/Orthodox to me. Sounds like a very low-church Protestant church, darn near Puritan/Baptist/CoC/Congregationalist.

@@Tennishangman It amazes me that the Catholics want to claim every church father and every Christian writing as their own and proof of their form of Christianity. They do revere the Didaches, but to claim it's Catholic is quite false. This very early document disproves the claim that the Catholic church sprang right out of Peter, immediately in the time of the apostles. There really is no trace of it in the Didache. The long title that mentioned the foundation of the 12 apostles, not just one, that's just huge and really goes to show how that whole, Peter/rock/keys/pope forever doctrine got in there much later.

This is the source of the false teaching that contradicts both the apostle Peter in Acts 2 and Paul in Acts 19
to baptize ONLY in Jesus Name. Almost ALL THE CHURCHES have falsely baptized according to the Didache.
No wonder there is no power in the body of HIS believers. Are they even saved? The Reformers even teach that baptism is
NOT NECCESSARY, even though Jesus SPECIFICALLY SAYS that NO ONE can enter the Kingdom of God without having been baptized,
per John 3.5. Doesn't ANYBODY read the scriptures, or are you ALL just followers of men? The Lord's prayer says that things should
be done "on earth as it is in Heaven." Jesus never authorized trinitarian teaching. He also said to NOT USE vain repetition,
as the heathen do. Jesus CLEARLY says, "If you LOVE ME, you will KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS! He also clearly stated, "Let your light
so shine before men, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS and glorify your Father in heaven! How many serious contradictions
    do we need in order to be disapproved by Heaven? Jesus said this in Mt.13;
"Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive
For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them."
    Also read John 12.44-50.

The Didache is pretty much straight from the bible. There was not an organized bible canon back in the 1st Century. There were letters and epistles of the apostles and early disciples, like we see in our bible now. They were read in early churches, as the OT sections of scripture were read in synogogues of Jesus' day. Christian writings like the Didache were distrubuted among churches too. These kinds of writing were very important, because it is an instruction manual of how an early church would operate. I'd suggest looking it up. It puts the notion of the Catholic church being there in all its practices to the side. The Didache had no Catholic language, and though it speaks of Communion, but calls it the Thanksgiving, it doesn't mention Eucharist, unless that is inserted by translators.

    • @williamcordasco945

Of course we do, but the Bible was not canonized until the 7th century. If you are saying today’s Christians are more prayerful and faithful to the Lord, I think you are wrong. Also, do you think the discourse between the Roman and St Paul to whom he was chained are recounted in the NT? Of course not, but that’s because the ancient world, and the ancient church, trusted tradition handed down orally, since most were illiterate.
