  • Here's a video showing you some troubleshooting tiups and repair tachniques for repairing a stuck or malfunctioning window on a 1986 Mercedes Benz 560SEC (1986-91 will be very similar, 1981-85 will also be similar but may have differences). 380, 420, and 500 SEC will be similar depending on year.
Here's link to video on how to remove center flat panel that holds window switches: • Mercedes W126 Chassis ...

Any tips on how to get to the mechanism for the rear smaller windows. My glass had become detached from the mechanism and need to access it to glue it back on

Hi, great, very useful video. If the window doesn't go up fully, just slows near the top and stops with a gap left (5mm), is it just adjustment required somewhere on where it starts from that needs increasing? Thanks.

Paulo Bernini I would say you need to open up the door and look at the plastic guides, or maybe are the gear mechanism. It sounds like something is binding. You will be helped by a compact mirror and a flashlight to see everything. But I'm no expert, could be something else.

Thank you - this is very useful information. At the moment, my right rear power window motor (1982 280SE) is lying on my table, and the motor is stuck, not reacting to +/-12V. The mechanics are intact, so I have to revive the motor...
=> Now I have the following questions:
    - Which cleaner product did you use to flood the motor?
    - Do you still have this link to ifixit.com? I can´t find the relevant article there.
    Thanks in advance!

Use any electrical contact cleaner, I'm sorry I can't remember the exact brand of what I used, but any one will work, there are many out there. And check it this guide, which was for a w123 window motor but virtually the same and relevant for this issue: www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+Mercedes+W123+Window+Regulator+%22Drill+Open%22+Style+Window+Motor/20484
      Good luck!
