This becomes my favourite channel about Russia, I really like your style and appreciate that you take your time to learn about places you go and give your viewers interesting facts. Also, editing is very good. Thank you.
I'm from St. Petersburg, but was amazed of every minute of the video! I wonder how the author knows Russian language so good? Do you live and study here in Russia? Thank you for that what you do, man! Your job is priceless! And your point of view is very interesting!
I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed it. It’s awesome to receive such positive feedback from someone from the city. I really love Russian language and history, and I find it to be an incredibly fascinating subject. St. Petersburg is my favorite city in Europe and I’ve had the privilege of visiting almost all the major cities across Europe.
My favorite place in St. Petersburg is between the Gorkovskaya metro station and the Troitsky Bridge, another street on the way to the Tauride Garden (Furshtatskaya). And my favorite temple is Smolny
Hello, thank you for reviewing my city!=) As I understand it, you still have a lot to do: visit the parks and the Pushkin Palace, go to Peterhof, go on a water excursion, and for sure not only) I will be waiting for all this from you, there are many places to visit in St. Petersburg...
Unfortunately, I’ve returned to Moscow, but the good news is that I’ll be going back to Petersburg tonight. Thanks for letting me know that I missed such a place like Peterhof. I passed by it though, but didn’t realize it was worth visiting. Sure, expect a part 2 in the coming days.
All industrial buildings in the city were rebuilt and expanded out side of the cit center. That 1800a rubber factory is not abandoned, it has a historical significance and is teaming with small businesses renting rooms or whole floors. There are several music rehearsal hall loaded with amps, mixers drum kits and bands have places they can play as loud as they want. Some of the rehearsal rooms have 20 bands sharing different time slots per room. It is the only place where the neighbors do not mind when most people live in the city center in apartments. Famous bands of the 90s used those room before the interiors were renovated. A lot of small businesses rent space because it is cheap. Those buildings was the industrial zone throughout the1800s. Iam an American who moved to St Petersburg full time on thirst days 2000 but my first visit was 1976. I have spent time in 92 countries while having businesses in California including a very successful recording studio that produced 197 gold and platinum albumin the 70s to 1994. I visited St Petersburg many times in ther 80s and 90. I also had the larges repair shop for pro audio equipment before giving it to the employees when I moved to St Petersburg in 2000. I gave everything away in the US, the businesses to the employees, houses to relatives, cars in my car collection to girlfriends and money to a family trust. I flew to St Petersburg in early Jan 2000 and very happy in these city of culture friendships and beautiful girls. It is remarkably safe friendly happy and zero stress. I have only returned 5 times for 1 week each back in California that is declining badly. Russia is a much better place to live, start a business or start a family. Everyone is is so much more cultured and everyone gets a long and literally no crime and so easy to live without debt
16:30 It’s a very special place for local techno (and other styles of electronic music) raves and parties, by the way! 😊 Moreover, I have to say that’s a part of local aesthetic perception: many citizens of the last few generations love that industrial and post apocalyptic sceneries (including me)😅. I’m very fond of the atmosphere of old ruins, abandoned factories, hospitals, churches and other places like that, and such objects complement very well the vibe of electronic and experimental music. “Red triangle” is the right place to listen to Detroit techno! 😅
I remember the story of our (with my friend) trip in Sevastopol that was a case in point: we were walking along the seashore at night and found a little cafe where psychedelic trance was playing, and we decided to stay there for some time. We noticed an old concrete pier and an abandoned unfinished building of a hotel nearby, that made us very excited in the context of the whole atmosphere. But the locals just had been wondering about this kind of “view point” until one girl from Moscow shortly said them that: “These guys are from Saint-Petersburg! That explains everything: the specific perception”. 😂😂😂 She didn’t knew that we were from Saint-Petersburg! 😅

I visited St. Petersburg a year out of college in 1999 for 3 weeks. It is probably in my top 3 most favorite cities in the world that I have visited. I have traveled a lot. I was there during White Nights also - I really didnt care for. It was very hot that year, no AC and zero darkness kept it hot all night. The Hermitage was great - in my opinion much better than The Louvre or the MET. The metro was amazing. Walking out of the metro and seeing Nevsky Prospect was awesome. Catherine the Great's summer palace was well worth it. The air temps were cooler. The techno dance clubs were awesome. Beer was good - and you really could not leave the bars until morning because all the bridges were open. Took the overnight train to Moscow. I did not like most of Moscow. Red Square was cool. People were not nearly as friendly and the air was rather polluted with vehicle exhaust. I did not like the food in Russia - and I believe I got food poisoning - could even have been the water - although I drank from bottles not from the faucet. I did have a two American-themed t-shirts stolen out of my hotel room. I really didn't like the fact that the hotel holds onto your passport during your stay. Thanks for the video

Это памятник архитектуры построен в Российской Империй и его снос незаконен! Можно восстановить но это вопрос к властям, чиновникам, владельцам.
