@BLOODY FACE It's all good! 🙂God gave us freewill and I too respect you and your wishes. I hope I didn't come across pushy, it was just an invitation in case you had any interest, as these vids are more along the line of beautiful spiritual encounters with the Father rather than religion. My focus is on relationship and knowing the heart of God rather than empty religious stuff - that would not satisfy the longing in my heart. Jesus is all about reconnecting us to God's heart and setting us free. For me personally he often communicates with me through dreams, visions and songs (back in 2018 he saved my life through these methods of communication when I was seriously ill. I am only alive today because of Him). I appreciate how honest, open and kind you are. I'm sure many people would just tell me to piss off lol. Talking about Jesus gets that kind of reaction at times 🤣Thanks so much for sharing and I too liked the Passion movie, even though it was painful to watch at the same time. Sorry I tried to make this short, didn't succeed! Peace and take care 🕊
One of those bands from the 70s that can hold its legacy with those going forward just like steely Dan, I mean if you liked it 50 years ago and you’re still liking it they did something right that’s for damn sure
"IT KEEPS YOU RUNNING" "MINUTE BY MINUTE" "TAKING IT TO THE STREETS" "WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES" "BLACK WATER" "ANOTHER PARK ANOTHER SUNDAY" "CHEAT THE HANGMAN"
Another Park Another Sunday is a great, underrated Doobie Brothers song. It Keeps You Running is the beginning of the Michael MacDonald era and another great one.
None of my friends or me considered this a religious song. We just liked the Doobie Brothers. A lot of us viewed Jesus as the original hippie. Glad you enjoyed it.
@Barely Taupe I would not say I freaked out at all😂😂😂. Just made a joke with a laughing face. I’m not at all as dramatic as some may have wanted to imagine.
They are killing you not so softly with their song… One of the best of the 70s everything they did! I know you want to do all the decades but that had to be one of the best for all kinds of music that transcends the decade
Oh Jay... This was the perfect birthday present for me. I so enjoy watching you enjoy the music I enjoyed way back when... You are so right, you won't find a bad song by The Doobie Brothers...
Love the Doobie brothers ! Finally got to see them in concert at a casino in Ontario Canada 5 years ago, after wanting to see them since the 70's! Most definitely worth the wait!
Just wanted to say thanks for posting today! Really needed some positive energy after the last few days and you always deliver. So thanks! Oh and yes you have been sleeping on The Doobie Brothers. lol
The Doobie Brothers, a great band that's for sure, so many great songs, Black Water, China Grove, Listen to the Music, and how about Cheat the Hangman! Just Brilliant. PS I've been amazed that l haven't seen any mention of Daughters of the Sea, one of my favourite songs from this great band.
Daughters of the Sea is so good! In fact that whole album (What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits) is great. Flying Cloud is nice (pretty). Also like Tell Me What You Want and Eyes of Silver.
@@talltulip Yes, that's a great album, my favourite has always been Stampede, just like the whole feel of the album. I Cheat the Hangman and Take me in Your Arms, it's full of great songs. Like a lot of other bands, it's their earlier work l like the most.
This is one of the best, heartfelt reactions I have seen for some time. You were feeling that song to your core and it was beautiful to see. Thank you.
Do you ever sit back and just marvel at how much great music there was in this era? Granted it spanned a good 40 years or so but the absolutely amazing music is just endless! I feel so blessed to grow up during this time and get to see most of the great artists you react to live! There are some good bands these days too and hopefully this type of good music becomes more popular with young people.
It's the 70s-I am 17 years old and at the Washington State Puyallup fair with my best buddies hanging out and this song comes on over the loud speakers. Oh my that was a good day!
I seen them 7 times in concert going back to their reunion tour in `87. And in 7 times seeing them live, They never ever disappointed and always sounded amazing!.
Saw these guys 3 times in the early 70s in small venues; superb, every concert! I swear, they never missed. (This was prior to the Michael McDonald era). Great song, great reaction!
Seems to me it was just yesterday you said no more 70’s music!! LOL. You are just as hooked on the 60’s and 70’s as the rest of us! You have to admit that those were the best 20 years for quality, creative music in more styles than you can count. It just kept coming. Love, love, love the percussion in this song!
I agree with Marlene Clausen. I was born in 1970,and listened to and still listen to the great music from the 60s and 70s. Thanks again. The Persuaders: Thin line between love and hate. Try that song next.
Saw them once around '77 or so. Superb musicians who just wanted everyone there to have a great time from start to finish. They made you feel like you were part of it.
This was the first song my husband ever performed. He was a kid and his older brother helped him practice by driving him to school and having him sing it on the way. My husband was about 7. His mom arranged it for the chorus. His other brother played the guitar and my husband sang the solo.
Dobbies are my favorite band !! Went to a concert of theirs 2 years ago Spotted Pat Simmons walking in the lobby in the hotel a few hrs before the concert..Went up to him and asked for a pic of the 2 of us.. then we got in the elevator and started talking a bit.. He was really cool.. what are the odds of running into your guitar hero. ?
I kinda cracked up when you said "these guys are onto something", as this was one of their biggest hits. The Doobies have NEVER done a bad song. They have ALWAYS rocked with the best of them. To answer your question, yes, you've been sleeping on them. They've got about 50 years of great music.
One of the best groups in the 70s and 80s...their style changed with Tom and Michael as the various lead singers. They are still going and now both of them appear in concert at times. In 1975 Tom was having health issues including a bleeding ulcer and decided to leave the group. Jeff Baxter who had joined the group in 74 suggested his former Steely Dan bandmate Michael McDonald to take over for Tom Johnston and was the lead singer up until 1982 when the band stopped performing. They reunited in 1987 with Tom Johnston back as the lead singer. Michael does appear when they are in concert on occasion though. I know during the virus last year they sang from their homes and connected via video and recorded it, great stuff! Suggest all of the songs listed below if you haven't done them all ready...The Captain and Me, Another Park Another Sunday, Listen to the Music - all of it is great!
1970's had so much good music. Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Chicago, Roy Ayers, Stevie Wonder and on and on. Michael Franks is cool too - please react to 'St. Elmo's Fire' - one of the smoothest songs ever.
I think you have to take this in the context of the era ... which includes Jesus Christ Superstar. In a way, this time was kind of like the earliest beginnings of Christian rock. A little Pink Floyd tinged gospel ended up in the middle of this song - fun! The Doobie Bros are a chronically underrated band. So good!
Others Dobbie songs to react to are Black Water, Listen To The Music, What A Fool Believes, South City Midnight Lady, Another Park Another Sunday. There are too many to list.
This song was early Doobie Brothers that did not include Michael McDonald who joined after band founder and lead vocalist, Tom Johnston left due to exhaustion and health issues. When this song was released in 1972 off the album Toulouse Street they were a four piece band. Of note, Tom Johnston, who sings this song is the person wearing sun glasses.
The Doobie Brothers are one of the best bands and I'm so proud that last year they were inducted into the 2020 Rock’n’Roll hall of fame.
They did!!??? Oh man, awesome, i didnt know that. Im gonna go check that out now. 👍🏼
Way overdue!!! One of the very best!
Yes .. never be ashamed of Praising Jesus!
When the music slowed down, I got tears in my eyes looking at the expression on your face. Good one man, keep it up.
This was pre-Michael McDonald days, but I love them with and without McDonald.

"IT KEEPS YOU RUNNING"
"MINUTE BY MINUTE"
"TAKING IT TO THE STREETS"
"WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES"
"BLACK WATER"
"ANOTHER PARK ANOTHER SUNDAY"
