A 100 years ago, the Wright Bros were ecstatic to fly for a 100 feet or so, and now we have this beautiful aircraft doing maneuvers so majestically. Kudos Sukhoi!
It’s sad what these aircraft are built for but they’re all beautiful marvels of engineering. Sukhoi makes some of the prettiest fighters in the world for sure.

It is surprising agile for its size, and as an American, I must confess my favorite is still the Mig-31. A beautiful and accomplished plane with the most advanced avionics Russia has, I am sure.
Imagine a MiG-31 doing a low flyby at full afterburner, must feel twice as powerful as the thunderous shakes u get inside ur whole body when having a Viggen do it!
The fact my grandpa grew up with F4Us, P-51s, and the invention of the jet engine to now being able to see supermaneuverable jet fighters like the Su-57, F-22, F-15, etc will always amaze me. I love talking to him about the past. Lots of wisdom in the noggin.

Most modern jets the flaps auto deploy especially during high AoA manoeuvres. It also has the front ledge edge root extensions which sort of act as a hybrid canard and slats also.

If there is any resentment (much as I could know), our ancestors only hated the ones that sending the American soldiers to our country and caused casualty. Most fighters carry only one X-band-radar, but the Su-57 is equipped with an L-band-radar, which is more likely to detect stealth aircraft, for a total of six radars. The Su-57 is also the only fighter that can see 360 degrees on radar. Stealth is a very small part of the 5th generation fighter's performance, and it is impossible to make all decisions based on stealth performance alone.This is why I call it one of the best 5 gen aircraft.

Yeah, this kind of low speed handling and maneuverability are rarely needed, if ever. It's 1950s thinking baked into a modern(ish) design. Also, it's only slightly stealthier than a Super Hornet-- and that's not me saying that, that's on *Sukhoi's* own webpage about the Su-57. Like the majority of the contemporary russian military, it's whole job is to look like it's dangerous. Scratch below the surface, and you'll see it's not, or at least, it would have been dangerous... ...in 1988.
