Andy Irvine is second to the incredible Bass Whisperer for bass reviews, such a humble guy and spot on with his reviews and a gentleman’s gentleman for basses. The updates look incredible and have some great specs. The fact it has the back cover is included for quick access to changing the batteries is a game changer for Sawdowsky (as far as my knowledge) excited to get my hands on one! 😁🙌🏻
I have this bass in burst finish. Plays great. The tone range is amazing. Super comfortable and well set-up right out of the box. If you are looking for a 5-string with excellent traditional and modern sounds, this is the one.
I always wanted a Sadowsky and just never could afford an NYC. I briefly owned the first iteration of the metroexpress with the rsd logo, the classic (blonde) maple neck and fingerboard, the straight in line string retainer and still enjoyed its fantastic tone, lightweight body and overall perceived quality for the price. Then I switched to the limited edition made in germany '22 metroline 5, and it's my go to bass since! Ah and lemme tell ya Andy must be a helluva live and performing artist but he's probably THE BEST DEMONSTRATOR EVER👏
Just picked one up through Sweetwater and this bass is truly amazing at its price point and competes easily with basses two to three times the price ... Everyone should just have one around the house or for the general gig wedding or cover band gig where you don't want to sacrifice on quality and sound and performance but you don't want to subject a 3,000.00 dollar guitar to the dangers of drunk wedding or bar or street dance partiers - lol. Such a great tool ... Thank you, Sadowsky ....
I just got the sunburst Sadowsky Metroline PJ 5 from Sweetwater....waiting for the instrument to acclimate in the case before I take it out. Hope it plays and sounds as good as my JJ 5-string....I'll have to share my thoughts later (fingers crossed).
The p pickup config is BEA/DG, as it should be, I imagine. I see the lefty version being sold online as BE/ADG. Anyone know if it makes that much of a difference?

What a gorgeous config, I ordered my Sadowsky in J/J, but that P/J is a sick configuration as well... really differs the sound a fair bit.

Many people saying the A string have significant higher volume due to the pickup issue, does this problem present in all PJ metro express?

What makes this a 'hybrid'? Is it just the PJ pickup configuration as opposed to the JJ configuration?
Hi, we call it a Hybrid because it is a P/J configuration in a J-Style body shape, instead of a P-Style body.
