You must come to Toledo Cathedral and perform this! I have visited Toledo on many occasions and played the "Emperador" organ (from the Biggs recording) on a few occasions. The horozontal reeds are simply thrilling beyond description, as long as you don't succumb to vertigo because the organ is 60 feet off the floor. The organs of the cathedral are all being well curated now, and hearing/playing them has been a real treat. Every spring there is a "Battle of the Organs" concert in Toledo featuring the cathedral's 7 (yes 7) baroque organs, large and small.
Wow. I've heard many performances of this regal music, and always EVERYONE falls short of the great E. Power Biggs recording from the 1960s -- that is, until I heard you. Only you and Biggs give this music the dash and flair this it requires. So many players seem to miss that. I love how you POUND the repeated bass notes on the pedals. That must make a truly "joyful noise" when played in a big cathedral, and on a great organ by a great organist. Thank again!!!
Hello from Canada! Thank you for sharing this. I used to know this piece as "Regal Fanfare", arranged for a wind ensemble (I played the 2nd clarinet part). Memories from childhood coming back! :-)
Bellissimo brano ben interpretato! Sbaglio o hai scelto il temperamento equabile? Fa strano sentirlo su questo organo, ma è molto piacevole! Complimenti
Great playing of Padre Soler's Fanfarria Imperial!!! Is this Bigg's transcription? I'm curious about the registration and the Hauptwerk sample set used for this performance! The realism with the reed stops and trumpets were tremendous!!!
lucaraggi1975 Luca, thank you for my beautiful 70th birthday gift!!! "I Sing the Mighty Power of God" Please help me, I have ordered the St. Maximin sample set for my churches new Hauptwerk VPO per your suggestion. However the set does not seem to jibe with what is described on the You Tube Introduction to Padre Soler''s Fanfarria Imperial or to April one year ago in which you described the sample set as being that from the Sonus Dom Bedos model by Sonus Paradisi!! I noticed the offer to kidnap you and take you to Texas. You are also welcome to visit Utah and provide the folks here with a concert from what I consider a "World Class Artist!!" I think that I could arrange a few ski trips out of our world famous Park City ski area if you enjoy that snow sport??
Thank you, Luca, for such a great performance. I have loved this piece since first hearing E. Power Biggs play it in his "Historic Organs of Spain" album, which I still own. I even got to visit the cathedral in Toledo years ago and saw the magnificent pipe organ that Biggs used for his recording. Out of curiosity, what organ's sample set did you use for your performance? Thank you again. Joe A. Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Luca, Forgive me for this second request for a clarification on which sample set you used for Soler's Fanfarria Imperial! On the Hauptwerk Contrebombarde site you mention that it is the Dom Bedos sample set!! This is very important to me as my Hauptwerk builder is reloading a new Intel 7 with my existing sample sets and I would like to duplicate the sample set you used!!! ??? A second question. How do you think the Soler piece would sound on the Garcia-Martinez Frechilla organ??

Hi Joe, thank you very much for your comment, sorry for my english ^_^ In this video I used the "Dom Bedos organ model" by Sonus Paradisi ^_^
Wonderful! I love this piece and love playing it myself! Which organ was this sampled from?
Thank you very much April, this is the sample set "Dom Bedos organ model" by Sonus Paradisi :-)

Let me put my crown and robe on and walk in procession

Ma quali sono gli hauptwerk migliori ? Ho notato che costano molto e non so quali sono gli organi migliori...

Hi, Luca! Where can I find the score?
which organ is that? what's with the desktop monitor to the left of you? the size of the organ is ideal for the size of my church.
This is a Schwindler console ;-)
Can we kidnap this guy and bring him to Texas? A master technician at the organ.
Thank you so much for your comment, I hope one day to come for a ride in Texas ^_^
Cup off !!!
next time without cap !!
