Although I think dark mode looks great, I can’t use it because the white letters seem to “glow” or “glare” ... in the way that halos appear around street lights at night, or around car headlights. However, I find it much more comfortable to read from a grey coloured background ... either white letters on a darker grey background or black letters on a light grey background. That is soothing to my eyes and I was digging through the Settings on my iPad Pro to see whether there’s a slider within the Dark Mode setting where I can dial back the amount of darkness a little bit, somewhere in the dark zone, but not full-on Dark Mode. I have a strong astigmatism, so this might be the reason for seeing the glow and glare around the white letters on a totally black background.
Dark mode is easy on the eyes. But it also slowly weakens your eye muscles and diminishes your eye's ability to focus, thus either creating blurry vision or near sightedness for those who previously never had to wear glasses. Looking at a light theme hurts your eyes because it forces your eyes to contract and become smaller to adjust to the high light output. This strain or contraction is like exercise for your eyes. However, looking at a light theme in a dark room at night is more harmful than good because your eyes are forces to strain against the specific light theme but loosen up to the surrounding dark environment, thus contributing to tunnel vision over time. The best solution for all these scenarios is to use a light theme at all times, but when in a dark room use the light theme together with low brightness settings and a read mode setting (the setting that makes the screen slightly yellow to kill all blue light being emitted from the screen).
Dark mode ideal for driving at night. I saw a driver this morning before daybreak with their white background phone to their face. I can't imagine how badly they were killing their night vision!
For me, I don't go out a lot and use dark mode on absolutely everything to the point where whites in general hurt my eyes so I don't use dark mode on absolutely everything and have some of my devices completely on light mode to help me out. Also I just find black text on white backgrounds better especially on devices that are higher res and find a lot of dark modes made by developers don't look that great at times so there's that too
I'm an android user I tried dark mode one time when I had an iPhone and I didn't like it and it was difficult to read text not planing to go back, light mode just feels like home😌.
This is interesting and I’ll tell you why. Lately I’ve been unable to get through more than 20 mins of watching UA-cam due to falling asleep. I’m wondering if it’s Dark Mode. Hmmm.... might switch to light mode and test that. Thankyou.
I’ve got a LCD screen so I should use light mode. Even though dark mode looks nice I want my mental health to be good so I’m just gonna use dark mode but I wish u can pick the modes for each app for example WhatsApp is light mode and UA-cam is on dark mode.
So the video should be titled “is dark mode better for you? The choice is yours!” You posed the question but your basically just having a pros and cons conversation and not answering the question you posed in the first place. So is it better for you?

The halos were showing while reading that cuz I’m in dark mode😂
Dark theme on UA-cam is the best I’ve been using it for a year
Exactly. I'm currently using it. I don't think I'm ever going back to the normal/light mode.

I use dark theme because it’s feels good for my eyes and if it’s like white it makes me have a head ache
I use dark mode because it looks kool and light mode makes my phone get hot and drain battery dark mode makes my battery a lot longer

How do you use dark mode on a computer? I usually use light mode because it’s easier for me to read but dark mode looks so much cooler.
Wait, so is LED the same as LCD?
Idk why when i use dark mode then i looked at my hand is like i am color blind
