Over the past few months, we’ve been waiting to re-open. And now that we're open, we are very proud to announce we have not one, not two, not three, but four more Koala Joeys here at the Billabong Zoo.
Our world-renowned Koala breeding Centre has been successfully breeding Koalas since 1999 and it’s so exciting to see four new smiling faces out and about here at the Billabong. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
If I lived in Austrailia, I would DEFINITELY be working with koalas!!!! I think they are my favorite wild animal!!!!

Koalas are so incredibly beautiful, that seeing videos and pictures of them makes me want to cry. It breaks my heart that the species is dying off and desperately needs help, but isn’t getting enough of it. 80% of their habitat is gone and roads are not fenced and have no bridges, so koalas and other wildlife keep getting hit and killed by vehicles. We need all koalas put in huge sanctuaries, where they have miles and miles of space to roam, but they are still in a fenced in area that better protects them from predators and bushfires. If all koalas were taken to sanctuaries, breeding programs would happen that would spread the gene pool and increase koala numbers. Plus, in sanctuaries, koalas have access to food, water and medical care, which they don’t in the wild. The Australian government needs to do all they can to prevent koalas from going extinct. Unfortunately, they still are not doing that. If you live near koalas in the wild, please go and check and see if there are koalas in need of help. Call koala sanctuaries to take in any koalas that seem sick, injured, or are on the ground. Please always call a sanctuary if you see a joey with no mother around. Please bring bowls of water to areas where koalas are living. If you see any koalas in areas where there isn’t much food for them, please also call someone from a koala sanctuary, so they can pick up the koala and make sure the koala is healthy. Once the koala is healthy enough to leave the sanctuary, they can be put in an area away from people and major roadways and in an area with lots of food trees. Please help koalas and Australian wildlife in any way you can, even by donating to koala charities. So many animals were lost in the 2019/2020 Australian bushfires. We need to better protect and care for Australian wildlife 💔🐨
