Aside from what some popular "UA-camrs" promote, using LInux wasn't a choice for me...I was made to use Linux. At the time, I had no choice. It was use Linux or have no computer any longer. It's a long story.. I had no idea what I was doing, and when I asked for help...I was given the "read the manual" type of answers. I thought to myself..."Why do they want you to ditch Windows and use Linux, but they don't want to help you use Linux?" hahaha! That was a long time ago, and it has been an interesting journey. I went from not knowing anything and struggling just to use Linux...to where I am today. I will gladly help anyone if I'm able...no matter how simple the question may be. While my initial experience wasn't a good one (I would have dropped Linux if I would have had a choice because of how I was answered), I couldn't imagine using anything else today. Windows/Mac users don't realize how tied down they are. I certainly didn't. I'm ever so thankful for those who provide free software so that I (and others) can have a choice of what I want to use on my system. They not only deserve a simple thank you; they deserve to be supported if we are able. Very good video!
I very much echo your sentiments of appreciation to all the developers who put so many hours into their software. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed my video.
As always, very eloquent. You know, you should consider a pod cast or live shows or anything to get out to the masses. You have a way of explaining things that make everything seem much more clear. Thanks again for sharing. As Ricky Nelson so profoundly sang, "you can't please everyone so you got to please yourself". Very apropos don't you think? I remember an old adage that say's "sticks and stones....words can never hurt me" So untrue. Words can and do help or hinder. It's up to us to decide what to say. LLAP my friend!
Man, I appreciate that so much. If I had the time and was a little more extroverted I'd consider that idea, but at this point, there is so much great content I'm happily enjoying and supporting the great creators we already have.
Good to hear your interesting view on how you see it. Personally I see my linux journey as a learning experience, once I decide on my end goal (what I want my operating system to do and how it does it) it is much easier to filter out the noise (other people's opinions on what I should or should not use and why) Just because it seems like everyone else does things differently to you, it does not mean you are wrong. Just different :) Thanks for the video Vince mate, keep em coming :)
I remember when I was a complete newbie not so long ago. I got some good advice and not so good advice. Did a lot of reading and watched more videos than I really wanted too. In the end I came away with, By The Way... This Is My Choice. Great video on something that needed attention.!
Awesome content!!! Just subbed, you deserve more subscribers.
Much appreciated! I'm here for the love of it.

Thanks Dan, I think you and I found our way at roughly the same time. This was just something I wish I knew a couple of years back.
