I remember Jenny when I visited on HMAS Torrens in 1989. We paid her in empty brass 4.5” empty shells. She sat on the quarterdeck, and directed her crew. When you walked past, she well yell “Hey skinboy!” and motion you over for a chat. Legend of Hong Kong harbour.
Jenny remembered me from able seaman to Petty officer. My first trip on HMAS Stuart in 1967, then next trip in 1972 on Torrens she saw me and said hey, LS Fly . you leave my girls alone and wandered off chuckling...but with Jenny, you did as you were told....then in 1973 as a PO.
Thank you for guarding this beautiful island which is also my home. Thank you for your service. I was 7 when the transfer of sovereignty happened. It was a sad day
That two Tanka ladies with tradition Hat helping British man, just like the Old Hong Kong Ensign from late nineteen century and old HSBC logo on banknotes.
I remember back in 1970 being along side Tamar Dock in HMAS Melbourne. Jenny Side Party's crew stripping and repainting the ships side, boot topping to flight deck and the island in 16 days. The nise from the jason pistols was horrendous.
Hong Kong is not longer British Colonized. I hope the Britain, and English People Stop interfering affairs Hong Kong and interfere Internal Chinese affairs. Hong Kong is no on British Side, we are stand on the Chinese Guangdong side. Alright.
She is the most respected person by the British navy.
Her English is surely a lot more fluent than many nowadays youngsters in HK
