    The main difference btween the fur machine and the shearling machine is the groves of the cups are more robust and the looper has to rise higher in order to clear the shearling which sits higher between the cups and so the depth of the stitch is deeper . The needle stroke may be a bit longer also.

    Hello sir! Im a total pro with that black bonis...I'm on one at least 7hours a day .....for shearling I would recommend the "T " model ....T standing for toys...if you have any questions feel free to contact me.....

      @@takatastore6338 Hello. I am thinking about buying a Bonis Model A. I plan to sew Beaver and Otter hides with this machine and some Muskrat. Do you think it can handle that thickness of Beaver/Otter or should I be looking for a Model B?
      Thanks for any input you may have.

      @@tomkelly6662 yes absolutely...the model A will just just fine...I make a ton loads of beaver hats with cowhide...it can easily handle 2 layers of cowhide ( not too thick) plus a layer of beaver..... although there is a technique on how to sow correctly with this machine...will gladly tell you when you need

    I have an Allbrooke & Hashfield very much like the Bonis A. Please could you do a video at some stage on how to time the machine

      I will once I figure it out myself. I don't know these fur machines at all yet. Thanks! I'm sure you time them all the same way too.

    Hi Derek, do you think these machines will be suitable for faux fur as well? My fiancee sews some pretty deep pile faux fur and it tends to bind up our normal machine.

    • @derekdoeschannel
      @derekdoeschannel  10 місяців тому

      Totally they can. Probably get a "B" model and up for that. They even make one just for Toys which would be the faux fur for teddy bears and such.

    Do you think the A model can sew Beaver skin? Thanks

    • @derekdoeschannel
      @derekdoeschannel  Рік тому

      You probably can if you go slow and a bigger needle. I think the B model would be better for that.

      Look for a Bonis fur machine or a Japanese copy. It will probably set you back around $400 for a good used machine.

      Id say go for a heavier sewing material machine. It will allow for most sewing applications. That being said, im not positive but im sure the machines made for mink and rabbit would probably still work with thicker hides. Thats just my personal opinion though.
