I’m a loyal fan for several years, however, I happen to feel like Natti and Amauri that at times Stephanie and Phillip are ridiculously over the top with decisions and choices. A little humility and down-to-earth goes a long way.
No, I'm pretty certain they're pelicans, it's a historic thing with their beak pressed upon their chest. Supposedly they cut into their own breast for some reason that I don't remember (to feed their babies?). It's a weird belief from the past.
can we all agree that the Sebastian updates showcase a charming, talented, hard working French man ? i love hearing him even though i barely understand the language.
I think the marble top will make all the difference and set it off with a new white porcelain knob . Try just the top first and try it against the wallpaper . Elaborate stencils or floral painting might make it look too over fussy in a granny chic style. ( I'm a granny but I don't like that look). There's already a lot of different floral patterns going on in the room. It might look too chintzy and not very relaxing for a bedroom?
I am so pleased you found that company and architect! They will help you get things done quicker and get it done well too. It was also give Amaury some much needed help so he can do the other things :)
Make sure to save all the rocks the chapel restorers dug up around the chapel. You can use them to continue on with creating boarder edging similar to what was done in courtyard .
Once the concrete ring is poured and the base fixed into place you could try ‘painting’ the outer concrete ring with a mix of moss and yogurt, the dairy proteins make the moss grow really quickly covering the base and making it look as if it’s been out in the elements for a long time.
Stephany, just in case you missed my comment on the last episode I will repeat it. TIP FOR THE SIDE TABLE MOTIF: Have Philip use the green leaf motif in the wallpaper as a guide for a small painted border (darker green) around the face of the side table and surround that with coral colour roses or peonies without the stems. It will give the needed lift to the piece without being overly powerful and it will mimic that particular motif that's in the wallpaper! 😊
Stephanie, I restored a few small side tables like yours and have used architectural details on them and then paint. It makes them more ornate and in keeping with your decor. A place here in the US is Architectural Depot where there is a wide selection of things to choose from. You can also put gold leaf on the pieces after you’ve applied the paint. It’s so beautiful!!!! Just a suggestion!!! Much love 😘❤️❤️❤️
😊Great idea. A wooden applique could 💯% jazz it up. A flipper/crafter popped up on my algorithm that had a several sheets of small molds: Baroque trims & borders, architectural details like medallions, bees & bugs, crowns, etc. They sprinkled cornstarch in the mold & popped in a fast drying clay. She also used gold paint & a black wax to make 'em look elegantly aged. She elevated curbside trash to treasure💎. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
The legs on that bedside look far too modern. It looks like the wrong era to me. And no amount of painting or architectural detail on the door is going to change that.
I agree with other comments that the fountain has flamingoes not pelicans. The beak is hooked and far shorter than a pelican's. It is still going to look lovely. You could cover the new base in yoghurt to age it. It is a quick way to get statuary looking old. The hellebores are fantastic. I have lots in my garden, they are as tough as old boots and spread seeds really easily. See if you can get some pink or purple ones to go with the white. Lovely dinner too, mush mash is a great way of describing it. 🙂
@@JulieGraham-u7b 😊 Yes, I 👀watched it after premiere & noticed it got out of sync at spots.🕊Blessings! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
I've just been chuckling as I'm reading the comments below from everyone. It seems you have acquired a huge team of chateaux interior/garden designers eager to shoulder your burden of decision- making. Shows how much we all feel part of the process.😄.
The problem is that it seems like there is no prep done before painting walls or furniture. Some areas need to be sanded or repaired with putty so that they look nice and even after the paint job and that is what Natti is pointing at. Also, removing the hardware like knobs makes it easier to paint and look more finished.
Merci encore pour ce joyeux moment à LaLande. La fontaine sera très élégante dans cette partie du jardin. Petit à petit vous embellissez tout autour de vous et nous avons le plaisir d'en être témoin. Bon voyage!
The black radish mash could be called a "" BRASH "",,,,,,,,,also we had trouble getting wide enough baseboards so we put in the widest we could get and then added another 1 1/2 inch trim moulding about 3 inches above that so when it was all painted up you couldn't tell the diff......or a mill worker could run some off then you get the profile you want , not the generic brico stuff,,,,,,,,,,,,,just a thought but I think your fountain flock is actually a ""flamboyance of flamingos"" Cherryl from Canada

Personally I don't think they accurately resemble any kind of bird, they're a mixture of all sorts... beak of one, legs and feet of another, they're maybe designed by kiddies 😂
Flamingos stand on one foot, have long necks, a high forehead and curved beaks. Pelicans have large ducklike feet, usually stand on two short legs, a low forehead, and a spoon shaped beak with a pouch in the lower jaw.
😉Frankly, the air fryer cooks up brussel sprouts in a beautifully toasty manner. 🔪Like to half mine too. Toss in some olive oil & garlic. It's fast & effective. Far less labor intensive. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
I was thinking of the bedspreads in the bedroom renovation. I think they are too bright and there is too much pattern with the headboards and wall paper. The headboards and the wallpaper are enough pattern. Not my business, just a thought.😊
You can roast Brussel sprouts in the air fryer or oven. Cut sprouts in half. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and whichever spices that you might like. 450 degrees F for about 10 minutes. Turn and roast another 10 minutes. Cooking time depends on the size of the sprouts. Check every 5 minutes.
Stephanie it’s usual to cut away all the old dark leaves of the hellebores once the flowers start to appear so that you can enjoy their beauty. A lovely garden and I love the cyclamen, they really cheer you up at this dull time of year. 😊
You can tell Nattie and Amaury are getting .. a bit less and less excited for all the fun things you are doing.. ❤ keep going!!! So much FUN! that travel Kettle!!
When you get back from Venice, do some gentle gardening and cut the old leaves off the hellebores. It allows the flowers to really sjhow before the new leaves grow after flowering.
The architect and his team are impressive. I would keep him on board and only consult with him and Amaury for decisions related to the work, outside of paint colors and decoratiive furnishings. It seems like you may have finally found the right ppl to see the project through!
With the fountain base looking a different color to the center pieces, you could "dry brush", paint, the base, to match the center piece, I have done such a process and it was successful. Then it will look uniform and you will be much happier with it. Then, when it's nearly dry, you could rub some "charcoal ash", into the grooved, patterns, on the base, to create that used cement, textured, look.
I never usually comment on videos, but I have to say what I like most about this channel, Stephanie, is how appreciative and kind you are to every single person who works for/with you. You show such genuine interest and curiosity towards everyone's work. It's lovely to watch

About the nightstand…you could always paint a part of the pattern of the wallpaper…that would tie it all together?? Just a thought. Have fun in Venice!
I do not know if it is just me, but the sound on your wonderful video today is out of sink? I too think that the lovely birds on the side of your fountain are flamingoes. It looked so lovely when the fountain was put together. I LOVE Cyclamen, they are such happy little forest plants, as so lovely to see some colour amongst the winter garden. xxx
Suggestion…….when raising the pelicans up on a Plinth, why not make a little plinth of rocks like a Scottish cairn ( smaller obviously) so it looks like the pelicans are standing on rocks in the water. Also can’t you get them to spray some lime mortar or concrete mix all over the base, to mess it up a bit/ age it….even stick the odd rock up against it…..there must be a way to disguise it.
Stephanie, watching you be so excited over a travel-sized kettle reminded me of all the times I travelled with my French press for coffee. I'm a coffee snob and so I had to settle for pre-ground instead of whole beans but it was still my beloved Louisiana River Road Creole blend. You can pick up sugar and cream at any corner marche so waking up every morning to your preferred caffeine fix is a real treat where ever you are in the world. Oh, I'm not crazy about your fountain either but you can spread it with yoghurt and let moss grow on it.
I cracked up when Natie said the table is still a little ugly! Thank for saying in Natie! Now to see if Phillip can change that. I agreed that the fountain base is pretty ugly until you assembled the fountain. With it aged and partly obscured it's going to work fine. The detail on the rim works with the detail in the fountain.

Those are definitely hellebores! Also known as Lenten Roses, if you’d like to keep with the ecclesiastical theming near the chapel. One of my favorite sights in the garden this time of year
It needs a tiny moulding with a bit of gilding & possibly some decoupaged flowers on the front &/ or sides to coordinate with the headboard etc to give it some charm. A little tassel hanging from the door knob too-:)
Hi Steph I agree the birds on the fountain are not pelicans. Could be flamingos but they have bent beaks. Maybe they are egrets. Yes the poor little table is ugly, please help it. Philips art work and maybe a gold out line on the body, or some moldings painted gold

Hellebores are out here now in Oklahoma!!! I truly love these!! Having lived in Pennsylvania and Boston..they are a new passion of mine here!! Perhaps you could make a pattern off the fabrics to paint on the night table? I have done that years ago.
If you had a solid bed cover on the bed and then folded at the end of the bed your floral bed quilt you may find it is easier on the eye 👁️ However … the British love mixing a lot of different patterns as do the French So go for it and if it isn’t working Re work it …
I love all the activity! The fountain is going to be great and it will add so much to the area. It will also be nice to keep Sebastian and others around longer. 🦋
I have a collapsible silicone travel kettle that packs up even smaller than Stephanie's new one, but the problem is that the lid falls off if you pour it too fast. Still, I never travel without it, and it has saved me so many times! The real issue now is accommodations that don't have a mini fridge for milk 😆
I love Nati..."It's still a little bit ugly" ha-ha, I agree with you Nati

The fountain. They look like Flamingos. Pelicans have very large deep beaks
Flamingos was my first thought
Flamingos 100 %
I vote for flamingoes too. The shape of the beak is distinctive!
No, I'm pretty certain they're pelicans, it's a historic thing with their beak pressed upon their chest. Supposedly they cut into their own breast for some reason that I don't remember (to feed their babies?). It's a weird belief from the past.

If you had a solid bed cover on the bed and then folded at the end of the bed your floral bed quilt you may find it is easier on the eye

However … the British love mixing a lot of different patterns as do the French
So go for it and if it isn’t working
Re work it …
I love all the activity! The fountain is going to be great and it will add so much to the area.
It will also be nice to keep Sebastian and others around longer. 🦋
Hahaha, I love Nate’s reaction to the bedside table. Her honest reaction was hilarious! 💕
I like the base of the fountain. It looks fine. Have FUN in Venice!
I love Nattie so much! ❤😂
Stephanie, you suffer from Pre-Transit anxiety. I do also. I hate the stress in preparing to go away somewhere beyond overnight. 💝
