Grim Dawn is my go-to ARPG these days. Great game. And it encourages build diversity and experimentation. They make it so easy to undo bad choices and respec.
It's nice that some of these QOLs were added to the game. Just proves that the devs do care about their players and take in feedback even after a lot of years. Nice video!
@@Max1mvsM POE has it's own merits. I play it when I get a fix for trading/currency making. Grim Dawn had a more interesting story in my opinion and better build variety for me.
@@Skarwind played POE for a few hours, it's just boring, even though the players with over9000 hours saying it's broken nowadays. On the other hand I wouldn't say GD has some unique story, it's prett basic, but the gameplay is dope, really relaxing, wish the the Titan Quest devs bring some features from GD to their game

You can find plenty of games that have been long running, and where you find those games, you will find people who say [this game] is no longer fun/the same And to top that off, grim dawn, PoE, and basically any ARPG has one big issue. The games are all fucking terrible until level [x]. You aren't going to enjoy PoE with only a few hours in the same way most arpgs aren't fun until you can make a late-game build.
Thanks for this quick concise list, after completing Borderlands 3, I desperately wanted to play another looter but didn't enjoy Diablo 3's classes and how restrictive it felt sometimes. I’ve been watching you, pohx, and malagant, and your content is by far the most professionally presented and concisely informative around. It’s thanks to you that I have a level 71 spin2win Templar that I’ve busted through the majority of the acts in veteran with.
As a heavy weight in this game since 2016 I myself can recommend the first and especially the last mod (cause legit gameplay is what keeps this genre interesting and alive), though I have to check out the lootfilter for myself. I am happy to see you spreading the word Lifting, though I look forward to your recommendations for the new PoE "melee league" coming up this Friday. I hope you can share some fun but not as gear competetive starter builds with us, as I will only have very limited time to take part in this great looking league. Finally, I want to say that I think it's a great deed that you mention and provide a link to buy Grim Dawn with the benefit to charities around the world. It's nice to forget the worries of our own and the world but knowing that we can still do some good in our time of slack, you somewhat lift the weight on our conscience so to speak, lol! Mod 3 has saved me so much time. I came back to grim dawn just recently and before I would just make mule characters and transfer stuff to them. Catalog everything in excel manually, rinse and repeat.
My friend got me into Grim Dawn. I never really was a big fan of ARPGs, but I don't hate them either. Grim Dawn is pretty good, I like the atmosphere and stuff like constellations, but while playing as a ranged class I always felt that something is missing. And with Forgotten Gods out I know what it is. Mobility. Gameplay feels stationary. Like, you can't move while attacking even if you use pistols. You gotta stop, attack and then you can move. It kinda, uh, feels clunky. Would be nice if at some point a modder or even devs would do something about it.
As a new player, it's an absolute mess getting infos to builds or mods, with all the broken links. Yes, you can sink in MANY hours in this game just to setting it up.
Can you do a video how to install these mods? I can't get them to work for some reason and I'm clueless at this point. I'm using the Steam version of the game, if anyone else can help me.
You are using the word distinguishment as a verb here but it's actually a noun. You don't "make a quick distinguishment between", you would "quickly distinguish between" in that case. Your english is great and I'm not trying to be a pest; thank you for the video!
If you don’t wanna put 5000 hours into the game but more like 200-400, use the smash n grab mod. Increases loot drops and makes the game so much more fun to me. Smash n grab makes getting a good build actually feel attainable, and it also makes trying many different good builds possible without devoting your life to the game. It respects your time
I agree. I've done two legit characters all the way through a clean ultimate difficulty playthrough, but after that scary resistance grinding I definitely have fun trying around with builds
I just started playing Grim Dawn, and I've been having a good time with it. I only have about 5-6 hours so far, but there are some very obvious quality of life problems with the game that baffled me. First, clicking on every item to pick it up isn't that big a deal to me, but in Grim Dawn, they made the mind boggling decision to include an animation where the character bends down to pick up every item (or at least most of them, don't remember if components are included). In a game where you're going to be picking up thousands, if not tens of the thousands of items, this isn't just a questionable decision, it's a flat out idiotic one. On a first playthrough of a game, I have never used mods before. I like to play the game as it was originally designed first, but while this seems trivial, it adds an egregious amount of unnecessary time in the longrun and I may be forced to use that first mod to mitigate or even eliminate the frustration that causes. Also, no enemy health bars? Seriously? What year is it? How many expansions have there been? Come on, guys. And the one thing that bugs me the most is that there's no key to display "interactable" items. By this, I mean that there isn't a button that highlights objects on the screen that you can click on. Please not that I'm not talking about item drops, as those are highlighted just fine, and from what I can tell, there are some handy filters that can be used to customize that. No issues there. Primarily, I'm talking about how you have to pixel hunt to find destructible objects as well as hidden doors and the like. This seems trivial, but I'm constantly moving the mouse cursor around and putting it on objects to check if I can interact with it. It wouldn't be a problem if the "hit box" was more clearly defined, but most of the time, you have to be almost dead center in the middle of an object for it to be highlighted so you can click on it. This is especially true for the large piles in Wightmire/Foggy Banks, at least so far. If I wasn't being so thorough, I would have easily missed some stuff. Even larger objects suffer from this, though to an obvious lesser extent. Overall, I'm still having a ton of fun, but these seem to be obvious problems that could have, and should have, been officially patched out by now.
The only thing that sucks about the GD Item Assist is that you have to turn off Steam Cloud Saves to make it work. I play GD on desktop PC sometimes and then sometimes on my laptop in bed and without cloud saving it's a whole hassle. :(
Nerd, what is the mod you use that allows you to add and subtract devotion and skill points with your mouse clicks without having to go to the spirit guide?
What is up with Crates forums? I am clicking on your links and it brings me to the Crate forums page, but not to the actual forum post with the mods. The only mod I found was Grim Internals which had to be found through a Google search. Is there a problem with Crates forums? Or am I doing something incorrectly? Your help would be most appreciated.
I am 100% sure but I believe they have been under attack (ddos) for a while at that is why they aren’t working as intended. I am surprised this is still an issue as this began almost 6 weeks ago.
Yes but he has to have them too, also when you install mods you gotta create new characters UNLESS you do a couple of tweaks, should be easy to google.

Do these mods affect fps at all? My potato PC already whines at me on a semi regular basis playing this game so this is an important consideration for me.
If the mod isn't on Nexus or a similar site I find they're not worth using with today's games. Grim Internal for instance will not work with my copy of Grim Dawn, I do not have that issue with any other mods I use.
Help me please! I have 42 Mule's characters, each one those have 6 full items slots. Does it mean, what i need load all of them one by one, and after that put all items manually to slots number 6 to pull out them to the programm? Or it possible optimized this process somehow?
The item assistant mod has its own backup system. The info is saved locally, but it also gives you the option to add Drive/Dropbox/One Drive etc. if you want to further increase the safety of your progress =)

hi, i just got lvl 60 and finished all main quests on Normal. Is it worth continue playing on normal or should i start a new char at higher difficulty? Normal was kinda too easy for me, but still good for learning.
Hey mate! I would just continue on normal and beat Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods before heading in to elite. Also, consider enabling veteran mode for normal difficulty, it spices up things a bit =)
why the link always takes me to a page where is no downloads? I'm new at GD and cant find any link directly to the download they all takes me to the forums
Just a warning to anybody interesting in using Grim Dawn Internals, I downloaded the file and followed instructions how they explained and all my characters were deleted. Can't find a way to restore them, I read their warning about save your files too late. Edit: Maybe they should have the disclaimer listed above the installation instructions :P (cloud saving restored my characters)
Maybe you should read more carefully and you'd see that grim internals tells you to TURN OFF cloud saving because grim internals only works with STATIC SAVES meaning the saves that are in your documents folder (most of the time), you can also move your cloud saved characters over to the static save location after turning cloud saving off! Cloud Saving fudges with almost all grim dawn mods, that is why it is recommended to turn it off and move your characters to the non-cloud safe location...
Hello, what files from the game should I save to restore the deposit, today after playing removed my character. or is there any way to avoid it getting rid of me ... I have a steam game
GD Inventory Assistant does NOT work properly. It loses inventory items... epics in my case. Easy to find and for sure clearly lost as well. Highly recommended you don't use that one.
I am pretty sure that you can play multi but you must have the same mod than the others (same version and all) Because it is not the same .exe especially for the grim internal. But what I do is when I play multi I start the original game and when I play alone I start the internal.exe The saved game are the same. I play on steam. You must add internal as a "non-steam game" in your game list and that way you can start either version. The game will just make a kinda very light update between each version. It is well explained on the griminternal website.
I disabled cloud sync in both the Steam settings (for all games) and in my Grim Dawn settings and I still get an error from Item Assistant saying that I have Grim Dawn sync, and can't get Item assistant to work. Anyone else have this issue? The help page that is brought up after this simply tells me to do what I've done multiple times, and that is check my Steam / Grim dawn settings.
The thing is the GI need your transfer tab to work as your item it's going to strore and take from here. But disable cloud save only give your save file not your transfer tab to your document folder so you need to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\104109936\219990 emote\save (While the 104109936 maybe different number in your steam folder). From here you can see the stranfer.gst which is your stranfer tab, copy it into your save location in document and reload the programe again. Login to your game and go to stash then back out and wait for it to sync.

It is not very underrated among the Diablo like fans. Of course POE is the most famous but Grim Dawn comes next :)

My friend and I are using the Diablo 2 mod and we are quite enjoying it. If you're a D2 fan I definitely recommend It.

I can vouch for it, no more need for mules and eliminating the risk of willingly or unwillingly creating dupes for good.

This is the first thing I've actually watched related to Grim Dawn and my main reaction is disappointment that this isn't a 40k ARPG like I thought.

Were you able to get the default loot filter to work while using the rainbow mod? Mine says tag not found in the loot filter.
You most likely have to replace the text_en folder with the updated files, but I can't say for sure =)

Does modding affect achievements and cloud save in any way?
Do these mods work in multiplayer? (Do both players have to have the mods?)
If the mod isn't on Nexus or a similar site I find they're not worth using with today's games. Grim Internal for instance will not work with my copy of Grim Dawn, I do not have that issue with any other mods I use.
There needs to be a mod that stabilises the fps
Is there any risk to installing these mods? Can it potentially fuck up my characters? Can items I store with item assistant disappear?
Does it also help show the map markers, as they rarely show up if at all on my game.

Help me please! I have 42 Mule's characters, each one those have 6 full items slots. Does it mean, what i need load all of them one by one, and after that put all items manually to slots number 6 to pull out them to the programm?
Or it possible optimized this process somehow?
Is there any potential with the item assistant to lose your items and will it have issues with cloud saving?
The item assistant mod has its own backup system. The info is saved locally, but it also gives you the option to add Drive/Dropbox/One Drive etc. if you want to further increase the safety of your progress =)

You have to disable cloud saving.

hi, i just got lvl 60 and finished all main quests on Normal. Is it worth continue playing on normal or should i start a new char at higher difficulty? Normal was kinda too easy for me, but still good for learning.

I would just continue on normal and beat Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods before heading in to elite.
Also, consider enabling veteran mode for normal difficulty, it spices up things a bit =)

Just a warning to anybody interesting in using Grim Dawn Internals, I downloaded the file and followed instructions how they explained and all my characters were deleted. Can't find a way to restore them, I read their warning about save your files too late.
Edit: Maybe they should have the disclaimer listed above the installation instructions :P (cloud saving restored my characters)
Maybe you should read more carefully and you'd see that grim internals tells you to TURN OFF cloud saving because grim internals only works with STATIC SAVES meaning the saves that are in your documents folder (most of the time), you can also move your cloud saved characters over to the static save location after turning cloud saving off! Cloud Saving fudges with almost all grim dawn mods, that is why it is recommended to turn it off and move your characters to the non-cloud safe location...

GD Inventory Assistant does NOT work properly. It loses inventory items... epics in my case. Easy to find and for sure clearly lost as well. Highly recommended you don't use that one.
One question: Does Rainbow effect Achievements on steam?

If you use the mods, is it only for single player, or can you still play normally in multiplayer?
I am pretty sure that you can play multi but you must have the same mod than the others (same version and all) Because it is not the same .exe especially for the grim internal. But what I do is when I play multi I start the original game and when I play alone I start the internal.exe The saved game are the same. I play on steam. You must add internal as a "non-steam game" in your game list and that way you can start either version. The game will just make a kinda very light update between each version. It is well explained on the griminternal website.
I disabled cloud sync in both the Steam settings (for all games) and in my Grim Dawn settings and I still get an error from Item Assistant saying that I have Grim Dawn sync, and can't get Item assistant to work. Anyone else have this issue? The help page that is brought up after this simply tells me to do what I've done multiple times, and that is check my Steam / Grim dawn settings.
The thing is the GI need your transfer tab to work as your item it's going to strore and take from here. But disable cloud save only give your save file not your transfer tab to your document folder so you need to go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\104109936\219990
emote\save (While the 104109936 maybe different number in your steam folder). From here you can see the stranfer.gst which is your stranfer tab, copy it into your save location in document and reload the programe again. Login to your game and go to stash then back out and wait for it to sync.
