He's absolutely right, the soft tire should just be the full time tire for all short tracks moving forward. Hell, I'd argue it should be used at road courses and Intermediates too.
Grooved tires,soft& hard!
Don't use them at intermediates. They're finally good with the Now Gen, so don't break them

They only need 1 tire. It needs to be the right tire. The current primary tire would be completely off the table if drivers had choice. They need a grippy tire that falls off consistently throughout the run. Just not so soft that we have another of the Brickyard races where they needed new tires ever 10 laps.

Yeah, I really hate the single lug nut too. Since switching to it watching the pit crew is so boring. Faster, sure but not as enjoyable to watch as a fan.

Yes, the wheel snapping has always been a thing but the rack and pinion setup is far worse about it.
Ya I have heard that it is a lot more dangerous and the possibility for injuries and broken bones are far greater with the new steering setups

@24Youngie he is right. BUT that's why you have to take your hands off the wheel or don't grip it with your thumbs locked around the wheel. Kyle is having a really hard time relearning to drive these cars, on top of that he is driving for a team that can't get out of their own way. SO YEAH, he is pissed that he isn't on top anymore.

Corey lajoie sat down with BJ Mcloud, there’s a guy just wanting to win a race knowing he has no chance, but has the greatest disposition even knowing he can’t compete. Then we have Kyle Busch who isn’t the greatest driver because if he was he could make this team work and find wins, but instead just blame the cars, the tires, whatever. They all have the same stuff, but his is the worst? Was the next gen car junk when he was at Gibbs? When he could win?

Rack and pinion steering. Anybody that's been around dirt late model racing has seen this countless times. Common to see broken/sprained wrists and thumbs.
The whole idea of a softer option being faster isn’t what actually happens on track. If the car handles good on primary tires, going to a more grippy tire will only tighten it up and make it slower

New tires have no sidewalls to flex and they are alot wider than the old tires. Probably a lot harder to find the right amount of wear and performance.

I mean, snapping your wrist from the steering wheel isn't a Next Gen exclusive thing, happens in just about every other racecar but go off I guess
Except in terms of NASCAR it is infact a Next Gen exclusive thing. Next-gen car is the first NASCAR cup car to userack&pinion steering instead of the recirculating ball steering which the first six cup car generations used. It's a much more responsive and tight steering setup compared to the former. Small adjustments in the wheel cause more wheel movement. That's why the cars are so on edge at high speed because you wouldn't dare overcorrect the car and have it snap back right into the wall. It's basically like having a 16:1 steering ratio in the older generation cars versus an 8:1 steering ratio in terms of wheel response. Or in other words the next-gen cup car has a wheel with max force feedback settings, while the older cars had a low to average force feedback setting if that makes sense. When that tire catches the wrong way in a crash, very similar to an Indycar, the wheel will spin very violently and break thumbs and wrists before you can even react.
It didn't happen in any other car. Yes, the sensitive steering wheel and sudden snapping isn't new to motorsports, but it's new to NASCAR, and some drivers don't like it
Id love to let this cry baby design the car. Its never him, always something or someone else. He's getting old, reaction times are getting slower, body is aging, and he's half the racer he used to be. But yeah, it's the steering wheel.

Like he’s a talentless driver, treating him as if he’s a field filler rather than a top 5-10 driver of all time, while he knows his worth and knows that he has so much talent that can’t be harnessed with his vehicles; it’s mostly not his fault. Think about how terrible that feels, you get put in a team that is incapable of harnessing your undoubtedly high level of talent, and now all of a sudden no one wants to race you with respect anymore.
His "complaining" makes the car better. He says what he doesn't like, how it feels, and the team works to fix it. Every driver "complains" about their car. Some do it differently than others

Shocker KFB goes from a top tier org to a mid pack and his performance takes a hit. Hunt, he still won 3 times last year in RCR shitcars, lost a win by the length of a credit card and has been involved in at least 7 crashes caused by other drivers error this year
