@@456seven8 yeah like th comment before me said hes colorblind but the thing is hes really sensitive to it and idk it was just funny cuz another girl made a comment as being sarcastic saying “are you blind” and he got so mad its such a sensitive topic for him
The torture scenes were extremely hard to watch. Her trying to soothe her burns by rubbing snow was heartbreaking. And what was the most painful to watch was Don Eun coming home to find out her mom abandoned her.
Yeah her mom.was a piece of shit for doing that. I can understand why revenge is so .important Don Eun. No amount of sorry from these garbage will save them from what she's about to do to them
What I have found to be absolutely incredible is that each character maintained the same “look” in their eyes. Both the young and older actors. I can tell it was a focal point for the director. Absolutely incredible acting by each and every actor on this show.
Absolutely agree with you. The director must have directed the heck out of the FL though as she brought her A game to this drama, I suppose also helps that she surrounded by a cast of stellar actors so nobody is noticing her usual wooden acting self. The other actors doing a brilliant job themselves and keeping us at the edge of our seats. All said however l am here to support Lee Do Hyun who so far is excellent saw all 8 episodes in a sitting. Cant believe it.
Not all of them, I mean there is diffrent between two characters, the lead of the gang was pretty when she is teen but when she is grow up she ugly and looks old, the second girl is the airhostess when she was youn was ugly and similer to the bullies lead when she become adult, the airhostess grow up to be pretty, i think they should switch the actresses.
The same approach was with the Oscar winning movie Moonlight - this is the best approach to casting actors for the same character at different ages in my opinion
@@preciousteni339 it's not that her acting is wooden but that she herself has those cold icy type of vibes so these types of characters really suit her
@@shaikhaalsaedi965 "Same look in their eyes" idt op meant their faces overall, just the vibe and aura they let out was the same. I don't think calling the actresses ugly was necessary though.
What I hate the most was all the teachers who stood by and did nothing. Nothing. Even one of the teacher started beating her up because she reported the bullying. I’ll never ever forgive that.
oh the rage, tbh all the bullying was horrible but what made me boil in rage was that scene where the homeroom teacher slaps her multiple times. but we have to understand cultural differences. maybe at that time, teachers see this as him disciplining her, however over-the-top it may be. seniority and image are a big deal in SK. so a student getting slapped by a teacher is not because the teacher is being abusive but because the student is ill-mannered. and jumping in to save a delinquent makes them the bad person, which might cost them their jobs. look how the school nurse lost her job. *although the school nurse lost her job because the main bully was there in the clinic, but you get the point. also, they might lose their jobs for supporting a very rich kid's victim*
The scene which I loved the most was the ending scene where yeon jin is in dong eun’s apartment and says I shouldn’t have bullied her, which for a moment makes the audience think she is regretting her behavior in the past and bullying dong eun but than her next line is I should have killed her instead, which honestly sent a chill down my spine because of the fact the nature of a person can never change even when all odds are against yeon jin she’s still thinking none of this is actually her fault instead of regretting she brutally abused a girl she’s thinking why she didn’t just kill her
But it wasn't a genuine epiphany, she only said that because she saw that Dong Eun is really going to ruin her life. Think about it if she never came back for revenge she still would have lived her life normally not caring about a thing especially from her past, I mean she literally killed someone and doesn't show any remorse for it.
It was also interesting when Yeon Jin questioned her daughter when she came home from school, asking if the teacher had burnt her skin. Kid said “no, that’s mean” Yeon actually looked guilty for a split second
@@JL-yh2nh In my mind, the kid is such a focal point because both of her parents is different kind of awful. Yeonjin will be judges by the kid who she loves and I think the drama want to show that bullying is something that is nurture and related to the environment growing up. Her anxiety that her kids will have a bad childhood is her own guilty conscience that eats her alive.
Because she’s the type of bully most likely with antisocial and narcissistic tendencies. She knows what she did was wrong she just doesn’t give a damn. All she cares is it will come back to get her.
No disrespect meant in any way shape or manner to the actors/ actresses and l doubt this a conscious thing with casting director, the nastier they were as children seem to have taken effect on them as adults as Yejin the main villain- the gloss wore off… 🤷🏻♀️
The young Yeon Jin was absolutely amazing. She was really scary and seemed very evil. You'd really think that she's actually a bully. The older Yeon Jin was great, too.
If you think this is extremely dramatized then you’ve lived a pretty lucky life. My cousin experienced one of the worst bullying cases I know of in high school. A girl secretly took pictures of her when she was in the dorm showers in order to threaten her. The drama may hyperbolize things in some places, but don’t ever think bullying is dramatized. Sadly.
So sorry to hear that, I hope your cousin is doing okay now. It's an incredibly hard work trying to scrape off and throw away any residual mental wounds bullies have inflicted upon you. But it is something the victims themselves must work hard towards! Sincerely hope your cousin is getting all the support she needs❤
Sadly, many people who live in a happy bubbly fam and friends. My colleagues friends told me that she has never encounter bully and all her high school friends are from happy fam. (Im her 1st friend whom from broken fam and got bullied) lol
A similar case happened in Southern California couple years ago. The victim girl was burned with cigarettes over and over again, was beaten and forced to eat dirt. The main perpetrator was also a middle school girl, her classmate. Lucky those Asian kids were foreign students and forgot they were in USA. They were behind bars finally. Trust me in the country they came from, they can just walk away.
Song Hye Kyo is definitely gonna win another deasang "Actress of the year" with this phenomenal acting and character portraying, literally not a single flaw in the whole drama. She basically carried the whole drama with her acting especially face expressions, voice tone and body language, and of course her "acting through eyes".. Not degrading the cast's acting which was outstanding too.
Really? I thought the actress playing the main villain Yeon Jin outperforms Song Hye Kyo and did a really good job making you hate her. I don’t think Song’s acting shows enough vulnerability and depth. The show itself is still great!
@@akim2154 I highly disagree on SHK's part, she ate this character and what made this show a top notch drama. But I agree with the first part, the villain was amazing even though in some part it was kinda overacting.
@Akim I'm sorry I have to disagree with your opinion. Song hye Kyo absolutely ate this genre. Of course, every other actor played an amazing role, SHK proving she is the main lead for a reason
I like how this drama doesn't try to act like revenge is a bad thing. Sometimes it's deserved and you can't just rise above everything Edit: hopefullythey don't make dongeun change her mind or "punish" her for taking her revenge
No police is involved yet in the drama because no one died yet .I don't think she takes revenge by killing them. She let's them die on their own fights especially drug guy and big booby are easy targets
she's so smart about it too. she could easily end them with the info she has now, but she's playing it carefully for the worst possible outcome for them.
In my pov she's seeking justice not revenge, people are thinking it is justice only when u get through man made law .man made law stands with powerful and rich person so seeking justice in other way is right
I just love how they show the terrified face of the bully because of Dong Eun provocation. They all know the world has changes and the bullies have too much to fall down from the grace but for Dong Eun, she has nothing more to lose and I love how she hurts them where it hurts. They just can't talk back to her because they know, she is right and she has the power.
True. The table's turn, they know they can't stop here and all they can do is to wait for her moves and they have no idea where and when she will strike or actually stroke already. There were 2 characters already died. This drama is mind game too. Very well written, no wonder Kyo took it and and her patience for this paid off!
@@1commonplace519 the detective had talked about being careful, so much surveillance today and if Dongeun died, doesn't mean her story died, they don't know her card so it's reckless for now. Also, so far, the one who is afraid of the past revelation and capable of murder is only Yeon Jin, she is a public figure. Jae Jun doesn't feel threaten by Dong Eun appearance , her bully revelation hardly bring anything to him cause he didn't capitalise on public image, the artist girl get bribed and she thought bribe will let her off, the stewardesses doesn't has the resources and the other dude is getting advantage. Also she just started to actually brings harms, they weren't anticipating her and perhaps there will be murder on Dongeun back on season 2.
Song Hye Kyo's acting is truly incredible,. Her eyes, her look the whole time screams depression sadness pain and suffering in every way,. and the character is amazing too, nothing fancy or elaborate, a quiet intricate portrayal of a hunter being haunted throughout the hunting Can't wait for March
One thing I like about Dong-eun's various confrontations with the bullies is that they have nothing to threaten her with. Threats only carry weight if your intended victim is afraid of them, and everything they've already done to her has already left her with nothing. Their own cruelty stripped away any power they had over her, and the fact that they can't scare her anymore scares them, leaving her with all the power.
Congratulations SHK for teaching them a lesson. Bullies will forever be bullies, they do not learn. They hatch like chickens and bleed more bullies. This is a perfect revenge drama that is staright to the point and also affects most people in real life.
Your kind of wrong. Thing is some change. Take kids for example. They grow up and learn from mistakes they did. Not all, but many do. I was bullied at school for 10 years. My sister too. I never forgave anyone but I accepted it happened. I wish I had accepted it sooner so I didnt spend most of my adult life with ptds. BUT what I was going to say is that some of the bullies changed. My sister told me. They totally different human beings now, not that I care that they changed ecause it doesnt do me any good. But Im just trying to say that people can change. A bully isnt always a bully. A cheater isnt always a cheater etc etc etc. Not sure why you have such a narow look at the world, but you should try to see the bigger picture too.
@@empawprint People dont change that easily. They are hiding their nature in order to fit in so there is no harm to themselves. But when situations are right their evilness will come out again.
@@empawprint As a former victim myself, you shouldn't blame yourself for all the misgivings you've had to experience post bullying. The fault is entirely on the aggressor and never the victim. The only fact that should matter is you managed to crawl out of that deep dark hole they've heartlessly pushed you in and moved on for better in your life
I just love how the victim turned the tables around! Not just on one bully, but the whole gang! And this is not even a ghost story, but the chills from her gaze 🥶
At times, this was hard to watch.. the reality of bullying is so scary.. and even when they get older and feeling sorry from them but then being reminded constantly of what they did to her.. made me really want her to have her REVENGE!! They all deserve whatever they get..
the most realistic part of the show is the bullying, which is so sad because most victims only get to watch their bullies become successful. no consequences no justice.

The fact that she wanted to be an architect but had to throw away everything made me so sad. I'm happy the show doesn't try to portray her as evil for wanting to kill them, bc they absolutely deserve it.
I like how she said that they'll "wilt together" coz Donguen knows that planning out a revenge would ultimately have harmful consequences around her...but hell she's got nothing to lose at this point. This girl better have the best ending in this kdrama revenge plot.
hopefully she doesn't choose to be the "bigger person" like most k-dramas make their protagonist do. I feel like they will use her accomplices (the spy lady and plastic surgeon) as a plot device where the bullies hurt them and make her back down or realize how "harmful" revenge is.
There's a famous Confucius quote " before you embark on a journey of revenge dig two Graves " dong uen is aware that it'll end with both of them dead so she has accepted it
I like how Dong-eun's revenge did not simply revolve around her making them suffer but also how she turned them against each other, contributing to their collective destruction.
As a victim of bullying… this is such a relief for me. I can’t spend my whole lifw trying to get back to those people but I truly believe that SUCCESS is your best Revenge. So far.. they’re living a miserable life and can’t even look at my eyes.
Are the bullies really miserable? Sounds almost too good to be true (if they deserve it). How old are they now and how come you still see them sometimes? --------------------------------------------- The worst time is in middle school whe the third graders are so much taller and threatening to the first graders.
@@chrismossy9774 Who would’ve thought that I’ll have a better life compared to them? I never thought of it. Miserable in different ways. Some of them weren’t able to finish studies, (in Asia it’s a shame if you weren’t able to finish your school),have miserable married/family life and etc. Are you still young? It’s a small world sometimes you would bump into the same people at a very unexpected moment. And for some reasons they can’t even look at me. I guess they remember what they did to me and felt ashamed of it. I guess we’re now in 29-30 yrs old. I must say karma do exist. I can see how miserable they were as their life is an openbook on social media. From cheating husband to everything. Idk why they have to post it but having the chance to see that they’re suffering I can’t help but look at it as Karma. Maybe we’re grownups now but bullies think that they can change the past just like in this series. No. You can’t runaway from your own. One day it will bite you in the @$$.
I like how she planned her revenge. She did not really do anything to them. She just exposed who they truly are. Things happened to them because of their own actions
At first i was afraid she was about to hurt Yeonjin's daughter, but then i realize it when she wouldn't do it thought how much a victim of bullying can remain lucid even when she's planning a revenge. Absolutely love her
I agree completely!! I really loved this series because she didn't make anyone pay who didn't deserve it. She was so calculated and direct with her revenge that her aim hit true and only those who made her suffer, were the ones who suffered in the end! Loved it so much!
Song Hye Kyo is gorgeous but I like how they downplayed her beauty to suit her character here. She's still pretty but her make-up is basic, her clothes are muted, and her overall mannerism really convinces you that she's a survivor of bullying. Can't wait for part 2!
I think they've added a fine layer of latex on her forehead and on the sides of her mouth too so that when she frowns it's really exaggerated and makes her look more haggard....normally you only have frown lines between your eyes, if that, at 40.. especially Korean women as they have amazing skin in to their fifties and sixties as they keep out of the sun and really look after their skin...
I love how they made Yeon Jin realising she actually does love her husband. But that’s after the secret of her child is partially out. Now stuck btwn 2 rich men with connections, all due to her own actions, I’m looking forward to her downward spiral. The rich & powerful might remain silent for their reputation, but those pent-up anger gotta go somewhere.
that scene were she realizes she "loves" her husband was so confusing to me. very well played because her character is such a twisted and truly evil person, her feelings of love wouldn't be digestible and relatable like most people.
@@bichen-up-ur they did it to give JJ motivation. Now she's burned her bridge with him. JJ doesn't take rejection well and she's angered him. It plays perfectly into Dong Euns plan. He just doesn't know it yet.
I personally think her idea of “love” is still not the same as normal person. Let me explain: I think it’s more of a realisation that she loves everything that comes with him. Therefore she thinks she loves him. He’s smart, successful, rich, handsome, polite, a good father and overall an even tempered men. Her life with him is perfect because of all those reasons. If he were less than that I highly doubt she would “love him”. She does not want to lose any of that. That’s the life she envisioned for herself since her early psychopathic years.
I was bullied when I was in Senior High school, and I just wanna say something: when you treat someone that's actually kind cruelly, u'r actually creating a monster, don't blame him if one day he will come to you with the devil action, because the monster that you will face is your own creation.
im praying none of the bullies get killed or die because that would be so unsatisfying. i hope the writers have a plan for them to keep living and suffer.
What frustrated me is that the adults failed to protect the protagonist. Instead they tried to cover it and blame her instead because she was poor and didn't have connections. Also her bully that started it all must have been jealous of her, i mean she often commented how pretty MC was and she burned her. How shallow and low as a person can be when she's that rich damn. I hope MC gets her good revenge and find happiness, it'll feel more cathartic as an ending.
@@angelaholmes8888 yes and still do. They prefer money over morality. The greediness of the rich poisoned their children and being the spoiled they are even during adulthood they haven't changed. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree like mamy say. I only hope MC finds closure at last.
The acting of the main bully was on another level, her expressions on point in any scene she appeared in. Brilliant yet terrifingly genuine portrayal by the actress of what bullies are like
What really affected me throughout the drama is not just the severity of the bullying (which is something I didn't think would be so graphic in a kdrama before), but the portrayal of deep trauma for the victim that makes the Glory so heavy and bleak. Not only this, but how so many adults have neglected to protect her as a minor. I imagine those who were/are bullied in the real world would find this drama hard to watch or possibly unwatchable as to trigger the memories. It's undoubtedly a 10/10, where it becomes very cathartic when the revenge plan builds up overtime. It felt like taking a breath of air after being in a confined space. It's one of the heaviest dramas I've seen in a very long time despite the short 8ep (personally last time it was My Mister) and I was shook to see Kim Eun Sook tackling these extremely dark themes that weren't in her past works like The Heirs, The King EM, and Goblin. The OST is just incredible and I can't wait to see Part 2 in March.
I also like that she keeps scratching her arm despite the wound has healed, how hot air reminds her about the physical burn they inflicted to her. At one point in her monologue, she said that had she be able to forget them, then she'll have a better life, that was once her dream, to be able to not remembering who they are but all those scars left marks on her. All the things is not forgettable. The slow burn also nice, I love when she talks back to them and it hits where it hurts. Like the colourful remarks to Jae Jun, the pretending to pray and get the answer to Sara, the not asking for apology to JiYeon and others. It just she makes them scared and paranoid and it satisfying to see them finally know what fear and desperation means.
It made me realize that whar is trivial to others can be devastating to a victim, her world crumbling and to claw her way back up takes more than sheer will. There is always a powerful propeller for one to riske above.
I enjoyed every second of this. When I was in school I was bullied heavily too, over YEARS. The assholes got away with it, I'm sure they're living their best lifes by now and they certainly have long forgotten about me. But I still remember their faces, in some cases even their namens. I remember their words, their actions. It's so unfair. Lately I've been watching dramas with characters who got bullied in the past going on revenge trips later and I find myself feeling a grim satisfaction. I have zero compassion or understanding for anyone who intentionally hurts others and scars them for life. They deserve everything bad and horrible that comes their way. I never believed in god but in karma only.
Great directing in this show. When Dong-Eun payed Sa-ra a visit in the church you can hear the pastor in the background preach about loving your enemies, "We failed to live by your word and treated them with hatred and grudges". These little details added are well done.
Loved the series! It amazes me how the bullies have not changed years later. They still don’t think they’ve done anything wrong. One of the most interesting characters is also the most deplorable. The one who assaults our lead and still does not think he did wrong. It makes her revenge feel so much more deserved and now she’s the one controlling their fears and emotions.
In the end, Moon Dong-eun was able to use the fact that the bullies were underestimating her to her advantage. Because they looked down on her all her life, they never anticipated the things she was able and willing to do. She was always 3 steps ahead of them. What an excellent character.
Shk has always been capable of playing emotional role and she actually play some of deep character in movie but her hit drama mainly consist of romance so people don't really know her for her versatility. I am glad she took this role so she can show what she is capable of
I agree, her acting is not over the top unlike other actors reminds me of tony leung, just subtle like a normal person in reality. Im not into other kdramas when the actors or main lead are extreme in acting, felt so fake.
i agree.this is her more daring drama..she was seen in her undergarments only..and yes,she can take a bad ass mother role,a cop or spy..those type of roles.sick of seeing her on romance drama, pls give those roles to the young ones..🤣
The bullying scenes are almost too painful to watch but it's soooo satisfying watching her execute her revenge and her doctor friend that saw her wounds I cried when he was all in.. I just really hope this isn't going to end with the bullies getting away with what they did to her
I like the part that SHK pull Sarah’s hair and there's still hair in her hand.. That's so soothing revenge😅 I love her cold facial expression. Very good acting.
@@lynlynn6897 me too, but I know she will definitely get what is coming to you, she will lose her child, her husband and I am positive will end up in a mad house 😒😒
Me as a bullying victim before, I'm thankful that there's a series like this that can relate with me and how it fictionally do the revenge that I was been hoping to do in my mind before but can't. So it feels like, it helps me to help to heal my childhood bullied self even though it's only a fiction but still, it's fulfilling. ✨
It wasn’t much of a genuine nice friendship. They just had too much history between them, they were bullies together and knew about the murder and their own indiscretions, so they were stuck together. It was more a hate circle than a friendship one, in a sense they felt freedom when they were together because all of them were twisted and could act as twisted as they wanted when they were together, that’s my interpretation at least. Like minded people stick together even if they dislike each other
I remember my co-worker who’s not a fan of kpop & kdrama tried to watch descendants because she saw me everyday watching it. She was so amazed by hye kyo because she said her acting was so natural. Btw we work at a hospital and hye kyo’s role at descendants was a doctor. That made me realize how great of an actress she is because she captured someone’s attention who’s not a fan of drama. It’s just so sad that a lot can’t appreciate her acting tho.
I watched one maybe 2 episodes of DOTS had to give up, l think her only drama l have watched completely is encounter cos of Park Bogum and Jang Seung jo ( JSJ one of the best actors in SK imho currently in the good detectives.) l have no doubt she is a brilliant actress, these types of scripts appear to suit her better.
@@anthyavila9726 there is nothing wrong with them but the problem is she has been getting the same melo romance dramas for a while now. Fans want to see her in iconic roles and unique ones like in DOTS, Full House or That Winter the Wind Blows. In all these dramas, we saw a different SHK that only she could have done justice to the role. I also think it’s a matter of good screenwriters and directors. I have been wanting to see her in a dark role like this because she has those icy queen vibes and her face is perfect for roles like these with her poker face cause even though she has a great poker face, her eyes are able to portray all the pain and other emotions. So roles like this really show her acting skills. You know an actress is great when even with a straight face, she is able to show all those emotions so I think this character is great for showing that difference. When I saw her in TWTWB, I really thought she was blind
@@anthyavila9726 she's been typecasted with the same roles many times and that's boring. Glad she got another type of role that's different from the ones she had.
This is simply the best story about revenge ever. Moon Dong-eun really teaches a lesson in terms of payback, and, without any trace of physical violence, just destroying their foes in their minds, hearts, lifestyle, making all masks falling down. They make her suffer by physical, psicological and emotional means. Now, she's making their slower begging for forgiveness, until the day they all will beg for die. She represents the best definition of "I just have to gain with this, because, I don't have anything, anybody, include myself, to lose"
I liked how the mother in law was like she wished Dong Eun married her son instead of Choi Hye Jeong and even called her a brat😂 And she is right she is a brat
That actress is the best in my opinion and the character is more complex than the others. Hye-Jeong is in a difficult situation and is bullied a bit, too. Sara even tells Hye-Jeong: "It was either Dong-Eun or you back then". (Episode 2 at minus 17.20 minutes, when 17.20 remains of that episode. It's easier to search way that as the elapsed time isn't shown). And she seems remorseful though still very selfish. Great acting when she pleads with Dong-Eun at the temple. I think Myeong-Oh also felt remorse. Too bad he disappeared, he was an interesting character. The others are too caricatured and are too one-dimensional.
@@puppyangel4346 @Puppy Angel He appears in the recent trailer for season 2. It would be great if he also gets revenge on the other bullies and they realize that he joined Dong-Eun! The strange thing is: why Does Gyeong-Ran work in the Siesta store? She was bullied and the target after Dong-Eun quit school. They bully Gyeong-Ran as Dong-Eun comes and says good bye to them at the gymnasium.
The revenge moments were so well done. I held my breath each time, and let out a cheer when she walked away. Wow. I'm just preparing myself when the story peaks and her bullies get the upper hand in the second half. March can't come quick enough!
The Glory, what a masterpiece to end the year 2022! Dong Eun has taken a long time plotting her revenge. I can't wait till March 2023 to see the climax and finale of the second season. Kudos to the cast and crew for bringing to life such a brilliant, captivating kdrama!
What i love about this is her sinister smile and her doing all the research against her bullies. I just wished she can do self defense since this is a damgerous path on her
This show was bloody amazing. Everyone who has ever been hurt physically and psychologically by bullies need their vengeance. The bullies need their comeuppance and then some. 👊
Perfect casting from Teenage to Adult ALL of them had resemblance to each other....SONG HYE KYO performance in this drama is great, more of these for her to challenge her acting.
There was a brilliant detail when she was getting bullied and I wanted to pointed it out. In ep5, exactly at 3:00... She was getting dragged on the floor, and the light that was beaming through the door looked like a cross, which I found really a mind-blowing shot. Because, in one of the previous scenes, those girls were in the church and the director specifically shot the big cross on the wall and focused on it. So by showing the cross in this scene, they're showcasing sarcasm and hypocrisy, saying these girls were praying for God and now they're doing the opposite of what god tells them.
To me, the actress who plays Choi Hye Jeong the flight attendant deserves much more praise. Sometimes she is so insufferable, shallow and I hate her, but other times she kinda makes me feel sorry for her. Other characters are just straight up assholes.
Yeah, she's a very good actress, check her out in Again my life and The spies who loved me. she's badass and holds such class in both of them respectively, I'm glad her acting and beauty is getting discovered by both the directors and fans.
Yes, I think she is the best actress in the drama. Her character Hye-Jeong is also nuanced and a bit bullied herself. Sara even tells her than if it hadn't been for Dong-Eun, then Hye-Jeong would have been bullied. Even though she gets angry while pleading with Dong-Eun, I feel both she and Myeong-Oh regretted their wrongdoings in the past.
They totally hurted her physically and almost totally emotionally , but "almost" totally emotionally , her revenge was great , especially because she basically made her enemies destroy themselves
The best part is that Dongeun isn't even the one responsible for their suffering. She's just exposing the skeletons in their closet, they're the ones who put them there.
Dong eun 's comebacks in this show are just SO FREAKING GOOD.Her comeback to Jae jun's comment, and her comebacks to her colleague who was talking disrespectfully to her. Just ✨🗿
@@SamSum2023 it’s not a second season it’s the second part. To me the first part seemed that it was more to set up how she becomes involved in their lives and I think the second part will focus on her carrying out her revenge. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of episode 8 between two characters in an apartment but as I said, part one seems to only be focusing on the set up for the climax of story, so them being in the apartment didn’t have a huge impact on me and I wouldn’t really consider it a cliffhanger.
This is so satisfying to watch. #goosebumps! I am just loving SHK role and acting here. I have never seen her take on roles like this and oh boy, this is pretty intense! I can’t wait for part 2.
She didn't just get revenge on a bully. She brought a dangerous and wicked criminal gang to justice and stopped the destruction they were causing to many people's lives.
what i love is that dongeun currently has no ill will towards yeonjin's daughter, maybe in her mind the greatest revenge is making the daughter resent her mother since her daughter is the most precious thing to yeonjin
@@emanx222 Killing his dad through an induced asthma attack was a bit unrealistic. But this only shows that the son sympathized with Dong-Eun and was a good man. Or, maybe killing the father will help the son to become a school inspector after all if people forget the father and gossip about him? But why would people judge the son based on the father's behaviour in the first place? I think Dong-Eun should just have exposed the father directly and ruined his reputation without involving the son unless she wanted to hurt the son just to upset her old teacher even more. The scene where she has beer with the son is supposed to show how ruthless she is. She is creepy when she ironically wishes for him to pass the written test and he looks confused about her mocking attitude. The reason was that only after passing the written test would he be vulnerable to gossip as the interview was next step. Dong-Eun even told the son he was innocent but unfortunately she was cruel enough to destroy his career.
Im glad she is playing a way different character than she usually plays...... She has always been a good actress and this made her to a even greater actress
I just finished the series last night and wow! Phenomenal job on all sides. And the revenge was as satisfying as it could get. Definite recommend for those who haven't seen it!
The two of them (SHK and LJY) deserve to get Excellence Actress Award together for the same show. Impressive. Both took on the roles which are not their usual ones. Successful experimenting by the producer/director. I will always remember Ji Yeon as her adorable role in High Society.
SPOILER!! I love lee dohyun's acting.. very believable! Especially when SHK revealed her scars to him. I cried too TT. and I love the reveal about him being not too innocent and has his own demons too. I cant wait for S2!!
The best revenge scenes which greatly satisfy me are 3 people Moon gets back at. She exposed the truth to the teacher's son and the son chose to kill his father. Not just because he feared that his reputation would get destroyed. But because he was very ashamed of his father for protecting the bullies and not Moon. As for the bad cop who also protected the bullies, I was so happy that Moon got back at him as well. Last but not least, I was relieved to see Moon severely punish her evil mother by locking her up in the nut house for the rest of her life.
You suffer through trauma and psychological pain your whole life. I know it as a victim. I suffer when in confined spaces and until now wonders why. Why were they doing it to me. What did I do wrong. You're lucky.
@@chubby_cheesecake_cheeks I dont think there is a reason for bullying. Some people r awful and like inflicting pain on others it makes them excited. They just choose people who will be easy to manipulate and over power.

The drama doesn't just highlight the issues surrounding the victim. It highlights the issues surrounding the perpetrators as well. Digs deeper into the entire environment. I was bullied, I look back now and forgave them as I realised their home environments shaped them, I just hope they redeemed themselves by shaping themselves as better adults
This drama is so exciting , the storyline , the actors are amazing especially Song Hye- kyo, I can not believe what they did to her so cruel , but she is beautiful and smart and as they say Revenge is so Sweet
"Welcome to my very own gym" is one of the more chilling things Moon has said, and her smile while saying it terrified me for what was in store for her bullies.
The moment I watched the trailer, I was so excited to watch this. When December 30 comes, I watched it immediately and was unable to stop because it's so damn good.
Some of my favorite moments in this drama in no particular order . I don't remember the names 1. When the teacher(?) gets punished by having an asthma attack over flowers, he deserved it because he was just a much a bully as the kids. 2. When the main female character told her class that their parents jobs and how much money they have don't matter and everyone would be treated equally and bullies would be punished. 3. When the little girl told her mom(lead bully)someone hurting someone else was bad and that person was bad and should be punished . 4.The doctor telling the lead that he would be her swordsman and help her get revenge.
This is my favorite drama so far .. so relatable in daily life and yet a real suspense drama.. 🥺 down to the very bone of how dark and far revenge could drive a person..
I genuinely love how Moon told her students not to bully each other by asking them not to inquire bout' their parents' job, money and connections.

Bad examples of teachers . Thost teachers better repent
But he got his comeuppance which l thought was one of the best ….his own son turned on him wow.
Omggg the rage I felt
oh the rage, tbh all the bullying was horrible but what made me boil in rage was that scene where the homeroom teacher slaps her multiple times. but we have to understand cultural differences. maybe at that time, teachers see this as him disciplining her, however over-the-top it may be. seniority and image are a big deal in SK. so a student getting slapped by a teacher is not because the teacher is being abusive but because the student is ill-mannered. and jumping in to save a delinquent makes them the bad person, which might cost them their jobs. look how the school nurse lost her job. *although the school nurse lost her job because the main bully was there in the clinic, but you get the point. also, they might lose their jobs for supporting a very rich kid's victim*
@@preciousteni339 I absolutely love seeing that 😊
The scene which I loved the most was the ending scene where yeon jin is in dong eun’s apartment and says I shouldn’t have bullied her, which for a moment makes the audience think she is regretting her behavior in the past and bullying dong eun but than her next line is I should have killed her instead, which honestly sent a chill down my spine because of the fact the nature of a person can never change even when all odds are against yeon jin she’s still thinking none of this is actually her fault instead of regretting she brutally abused a girl she’s thinking why she didn’t just kill her
But it wasn't a genuine epiphany, she only said that because she saw that Dong Eun is really going to ruin her life.
Was perfectly obvious to me, that she would say that she should've killed her instead
Because she’s the type of bully most likely with antisocial and narcissistic tendencies. She knows what she did was wrong she just doesn’t give a damn. All she cares is it will come back to get her.
Such perfect casting for both the younger and older characters. Every single performance is compelling and invoking the strongest emotions
No disrespect meant in any way shape or manner to the actors/ actresses and l doubt this a conscious thing with casting director, the nastier they were as children seem to have taken effect on them as adults as Yejin the main villain- the gloss wore off… 🤷🏻♀️
I couldn't recognized the rest of bullies when they are adults, except the main bully and 2 guys.

Sadly.
😢😭😭😭😭so sorry for your cousin
So sorry to hear that, I hope your cousin is doing okay now. It's an incredibly hard work trying to scrape off and throw away any residual mental wounds bullies have inflicted upon you.
Agree, she did not act eccentrically. Very subtle and raw.

There were 2 characters already died. This drama is mind game too. Very well written, no wonder Kyo took it and and her patience for this paid off!

She said in the commentary that she understood her assignment hehehe
I think they've added a fine layer of latex on her forehead and on the sides of her mouth too so that when she frowns it's really exaggerated and makes her look more haggard....normally you only have frown lines between your eyes, if that, at 40.. especially Korean women as they have amazing skin in to their fifties and sixties as they keep out of the sun and really look after their skin...

The acting of the main bully was on another level, her expressions on point in any scene she appeared in. Brilliant yet terrifingly genuine portrayal by the actress of what bullies are like
What I loved about her revenge is that she did not let her hands get dirty. She manipulated the heck out of them to ruin each other 😂
What really affected me throughout the drama is not just the severity of the bullying (which is something I didn't think would be so graphic in a kdrama before), but the portrayal of deep trauma for the victim that makes the Glory so heavy and bleak.
It just she makes them scared and paranoid and it satisfying to see them finally know what fear and desperation means.
adding in “weak hero class 1”. it is bully theme trend for 22/23
Right, I dont expect that it comes from the same writer of those 3 kdramas
It made me realize that whar is trivial to others can be devastating to a victim, her world crumbling and to claw her way back up takes more than sheer will. There is always a powerful propeller for one to riske above.

Great directing in this show. When Dong-Eun payed Sa-ra a visit in the church you can hear the pastor in the background preach about loving your enemies, "We failed to live by your word and treated them with hatred and grudges". These little details added are well done.
The flow of story in this drama was insanely good. The cinematography and ost & everything was just so well done
I am glad she took this role so she can show what she is capable of
Yes she shouldn't go for romance but thrillers and other genres. Her acting suits badass characters
I think it is just to show that Sarah is a dopehead. Severe hair loss is one of the symptoms of the addicticton to drugs.
she should have slapped yeonjin too..felt bad she didnt slapped her back.🤣
@@lynlynn6897 me too, but I know she will definitely get what is coming to you, she will lose her child, her husband and I am positive will end up in a mad house 😒😒
I'm proud to say this is the best work and acting of Song Hye-kyo to date! I love it so much. I can't wait for S2.
song hye kyo did so well! the actress who played the younger version of her did so well too!! can't wait for pt.2
Yeah it's very fulfilling to watch the show I too was bullied to the point I ended up dropping out of school
Same. I could relate to every single moment of Dong eun. At the same time, this show really opened my darkest and ugliest mental scars..
Watch school 2015 who are you...The popular twin protected her identical twin sister and takes her place to the school and fought back the bully
i love how these 4 friendship so toxic, bully each other, even verbally & mentally attack each other but still together after 18 years 😂😂
It wasn’t much of a genuine nice friendship. Like minded people stick together even if they dislike each other
Literally most friendships lol
The entire cast of The Glory is awesome. Talented actors n actresses. The expressions and connections are brilliant. A must watch
She needs to get more roles that have depth to them and aren't average romance characters
@@elithluxe7568 There's nothing wrong with romance dramas, you all just conflate"dark" with "depth."
And her excitement lol haha
@@chrismossy9774 Despite Myeong-Oh getting beaten up. Why do I get the feeling he might be alive?
@@puppyangel4346 @Puppy Angel He appears in the recent trailer for season 2. It would be great if he also gets revenge on the other bullies and they realize that he joined Dong-Eun!
The strange thing is: why Does Gyeong-Ran work in the Siesta store? She was bullied and the target after Dong-Eun quit school. They bully Gyeong-Ran as Dong-Eun comes and says good bye to them at the gymnasium.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I love how she has integrated into each of their lives so easily lol
The revenge moments were so well done. I held my breath each time, and let out a cheer when she walked away. Wow. I'm just preparing myself when the story peaks and her bullies get the upper hand in the second half. March can't come quick enough!
But why you want the bullies to get the upper hand?
She was successful and outsmarted each of them. But her Spy Girl, is amazing too, even in her abusive situation was able to find peace and strength.
I love how main character didn't forgive any of them to be "kind". They got what they deserve. This is justice for me.
The Glory, what a masterpiece to end the year 2022! Dong Eun has taken a long time plotting her revenge. I can't wait till March 2023 to see the climax and finale of the second season. Kudos to the cast and crew for bringing to life such a brilliant, captivating kdrama!
honestly, this is one of the best dramas of the (end) 2022 ❤️
Exactly 💯❤
@@angelaholmes8888 찲
What i love about this is her sinister smile and her doing all the research against her bullies. I just wished she can do self defense since this is a damgerous path on her
She legit didn't keep tabs on Dong Eun after she scarily laughed and threatened they'd meet again.
Yea and that is hella creepy tbh haha
This show was bloody amazing. Everyone who has ever been hurt physically and psychologically by bullies need their vengeance. The bullies need their comeuppance and then some. 👊
She deserves an Oscar for this wonderful acting✨✨👍
Agree. She’s a pathetic character 🙈 and the actress portrayed that sooo well
Agreed, she was a standout for me acting wise in a show that has a LOT of strong actors/actresses.
she reminds me of cassie from euphoria for some reason 😭😭😭
This is a message to teachers out there. If your students are poor doesn't mean that they aren't humans.
Love, love, love this drama, watched all the episodes in one sitting. Can't wait until March for the next season.
Dong eun 's comebacks in this show are just SO FREAKING GOOD.Her comeback to Jae jun's comment, and her comebacks to her colleague who was talking disrespectfully to her. Just ✨🗿
I literally watched all episodes today!! I didn’t even know about this until I saw it on Netflix and I couldn’t stop watching
Hi. Can u share some spoiler for me. Does the ending satisfying? Or end with cliffhanger coz I saw info, there's 2nd season
I wish we had more teachers like Dong-eun back when I used to go to school.
My teacher was a bullying enabler and her supervisor had a hate boner for neurodivergent students :/
This is a good role for her. Different from her usual romance centered roles.
I’m waiting for part 2.This is a drama that captures everything from the skillful/great acting to the amazing plot.I couldn’t stop watching
I’ve watch this whole series two times already lol 😭 it’s so good! I love how the main character is such a mastermind.
what i love is that dongeun currently has no ill will towards yeonjin's daughter, maybe in her mind the greatest revenge is making the daughter resent her mother since her daughter is the most precious thing to yeonjin
Perhaps she will adopt the daughter? But she was cruel to her former teacher's son...
@@chrismossy9774 she wasn't cruel to him at all. He was an unfortunate casualty and he basically hated his dad too lol
@@chrismossy9774 that is in Korea or most likely Asia...they crucify ur entire family..
@@lynlynn6897 Yes, I live in Korea so I should by now. But I think it's wrong to punish the whole family if one person makes a mistake.
SHK deserves the best actress award and the other, the best supporting award. How about that?
THE BEST!! I REALLY LOVE SONG HYE KYO'S ACTING
SPOILER!!
I love lee dohyun's acting.. very believable! Especially when SHK revealed her scars to him. I cried too TT. and I love the reveal about him being not too innocent and has his own demons too. I cant wait for S2!!
Binged this in one day! Great storyline and superb acting from the entire cast.
no wonder it`s in the no. 1 spot in netflix surveys fantabulous series worth watching
This was so painful. Can't imagine how it must be to go through bullying. I feel for the victims.
@@chubby_cheesecake_cheeks same i still have memories from my experience with bullying even now some of my friends were friends with my bully but they met her 2 years after the whole incident and apparently she changed but in my eyes she has never changed at all i do not wish her well at all
Let's just say that if I had to choose between going to hell and going back to middle or elementary school, I'd choose hell without a single doubt.
@@RedGuardYF same. I wasn't really bullied but made fun of my weight which god forbid wasn't even that much I was big not obese. But I have had few really horrible experiences from early years.
This show is so good. I watched it all in 1 day. Can’t wait for part 2 to come out. I hope it ends strong and not with a weak conclusion.
Song Hye kyo acting wow 😍. I literally feel for her 🥲 and i love how choi Hye Jeong mother in law like Ms. moon in this drama 😏😘
The moment I watched the trailer, I was so excited to watch this. When December 30 comes, I watched it immediately and was unable to stop because it's so damn good.
I binged the show in one day love it
Some of my favorite moments in this drama in no particular order . I don't remember the names
