: D
I love this kind of thing. You've done a great job with your videos matching up with the movie. Very very awesome.
Lyon estates is still undeveloped. lol
We have to be on a different timeline, that explains all the shit happening right now, lol.
For the most part.
😂just saw that and i laughed
There never was a "Lyon estates", it's only a movie.
@@rob5918 and his comment was only a joke
I graduated from Whittier High and I love getting to say I went to Hill Valley High School. It’s a great ice breaker when I meet new people!
I graduated from whittier high too! Funny how I came across this video randomly haha UA-cam algorithms
bs
I guess I don’t know much about the movie. I thought the high school was a set at Universal Studios.
That's pretty awesome !
Jo tb em vaig graduar aquí, quina gràcia, e.
Christopher Lloyd said they had no idea how iconic and influential this movie would become. So true!
This was interesting. I'm happy to see the tree at 3:06, which Marty's dad peeped from, was well preserved after 34 years...exactly the same.
I know right, it's amazing it's still there, what-a history
I just look at the trees 🤣🤣
@@callengerta2071 I just leaf them alone....
Ironically, it never made like a tree and got outta there! (It did leave though!)
Would have been hilarious if the reshoot had a woman in the same window undressing and you suddenly hear a siren from a police car. Than suddenly a view from the back seat of the squad car. LoL
The homes and scenes of the real world just looked way cleaner and better back in the day.
Yea even some of the trees looked sick and off color. I remember I went back to my old neighborhood after 20- 25 yrs, and I didn’t recognize it. All the trees were almost gone. I remember chestnut and pear trees lined on every block. We used to run around and we were able to pick pears right off the trees or freshly fallen ones in the summer. This was the late 80s to early to mid 90’s. Good thing I still knew the turns by heart otherwise I would’ve gotten lost. Sometimes, things change for the worst.
@@endofsociety Well most of the trees should still be there, they live for a long time. The trees around the areas I grew up in that did not get blown down in '87 are for the most part still there.
Halfdead Rider the trees in my old neighborhood were taken down by man not nature. It’s a shame.
@@endofsociety Not good! sorry to hear that.
Could be down to the increase of traffic, smog over the years. But yh I had the same thought as you tbh
Thank you for bringing me back to my youth😊
Lol
Take me with you to the further future!!!! Or, back to the 90s. But so help me, please don't leave me here!!!!
Are you feeling 17 again!?
@@davidskyler1000 absolutely😊
You were in your 70s still
I LOVE how the george mcfly house still has the stone accents!!!
Weird that the stone accents on the front poles are in completely different places, the ones on the poles nearest the store remain the same however. Very weird, look close you'll see some are moved.
@@animalyze7120 I noticed that too, quite weird, maybe it had to be redone at some point.
2:44 I like it when the trees still look the same after 30 - 40 years
I live in the city where one of the scenes were shot, kinda cool tbh especially when you see it on the big screen and you’re like “I recognize this place.” Coolest feeling ever.
What city & what scene was it?? 😀
I do understand that feeling. I live close to some areas that ended up in movies and its so cool to be like I recognise that place I've been there before.
They shot scenes of the movie XXX at my boat ramp. Not a fan of the movie but it was neat seeing it on the big screen.
Try living in Vancouver, Canada. It's really hard to get into many shows when half of them are made here and the location recognition takes you out of the moment.
melshane23 your videos make it seem like you live in So Cal. Me too! It’s uh Puente Hills in Puente Hills, California. The scene where they leave the “present” after running from the mean guys. The mall there has a bunch of Back to the Future Memorabilia and stuff.
Im amazed by how much it hasn't changed!!
4:52 that tree is an adult now
Geez, it's been more years since this movie was released than Marty went back in time......
And we still don't have flying cars or hover boards >
Forward* he went to 2015, he did go back to 1885 or whenever it was, that was further back than the years past, by quite a bit 😂😉😎
Halfdead Rider Counts for 85 to 55 too.
@@c0mpu73rguy Yes but that's not what the OP wrote, he said "it's been more years since this movie was released than Marty went back in time", not true as I stated, yes it's been more years than between '55-'85, but he went much further back. If he'd also stated 'in this/the first movie', that would also then be true lol.
Halfdead Rider Not if he was talking about the first film only (this movie vs these movies). But I think I’m nitpicking at this point.
2:45 I like that the tree is still there. I know it's a small detail, but so many trees in my neighborhood got cut down over the years
This are so much greener and better in 1985
yeah everything was more colourful the paint on the houses and the grass near the trees was touching but now its just dirt touching the trees
@cowchipsbotme Nope your city just looks like shit now deal with it
Graves Alucard your just mad that if anything LA looks better today than in the smoggy 50s-80s
Could be the time of year (recorded in late spring instead of mid/late summer), or post-production magic.
It's just the neglect of the terrain, they probably fixed it for the movie or I don't know. But a good pruning can do magic.
greeetings from germany , We love the movie and that american town , one of the best movie in my childhood
Lass mal alle zusammen nächstes Jahr zu den Locations😂 ich geb auch Burger King aus haha
Everything looked so much better in the movie 80s lol
The school looked all ghetto and tagged up in the 80s
@@alcien5258 , Yeah how could he not notice this, lol.
@@alcien5258 The school was set-dressed to be graffiti'd. It wasn't like that in real life.
lol uploader used the remastered version, of course the colour correction engineer show his/her worth.
Well yeah it had to be, it's a movie. They need to have good background
Could you imagine moving into the same house that Marty lived in the films
surely, the people who live there now must get pissed every time someone starts taking pictures/videos outside their house.
B M nobody forced them to live there they knew it
@@babyguilhem9338 perfect
What if they didn’t know about the movie and they thought the people were creepy
I read somewhere is still the same owner that live there, they regred lend the house for film use.
Honestly if I lived in Marty's house IRL I'd buy a delorean just to see the reactions >:D
Nah man. You need Marty's Toyota pickup truck.😊
@Eduardo Mendez Agree With U Brother
Prolly an old ass reclusive boomer living in it not giving a shit about its history.
Only problem is rarely do movie homes go up for sale and when they do...yeah...it's not cheap.
I live close to that house its kinda ghetto so id keep the delorean in the garage
Movie locations are amazing! It's like being somewhere between the movie world and the real world when you visit a film location in real life. I've had an opportunity to visit a few locations over the past few years. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man, you even matched up the scene panning. This is amazing!
Unreal how much work has gone into this, it's quality.
I'll take 1985 any day over 2019.
2020:
Allow us to introduce ourselves
thats so happy when you see this same tree in 1985 and 2019 :D
Not a single flying car, Hoverboard, Self-tying shoelace nor Jaws 19 sequel in sight in 2019. What a letdown.
The timeline changed, no Lyon Estates!
I think it's best that we dont have jaws 19
No.. Nike did make the self-lacing shoes. They cost a lot, as expected, but they made them
Helios Centaur
There are Hoverboards made by Lexus that do hover, though. Also, there are tons of self-lacing Nike Adapt sneakers!
Very true, instead of Jaws 19 we got covid19
They would never have imagined this youtube video 34 years later.
UA-cam algorithm brought me here...fantastic job!
It's great to see so many locations are still recognisable today! Thank you for finding and visiting them for filming!
Man, whoever did this, good job! The split screen added so much more to it
This is whittier high school before the multiple renovations and several fires later and La mirada mall. The empty field looks near santa fe springs dam. Local citizen of whittier, ca and i love this movie.
3:53 Imagine watching Back to the Future for the first time and realizing u live in Marty’s house.
Crazy
For a video that revisits filming locations, this one is very well done. I liked how you lined up the points-of-views with the scenes in the movies. No dialogue around what we’re seeing, which made it very nice. I could just sit back and enjoy. 👍👍
Excellent shooting of the exact same frames and movements! These places haven't changed much in 35 years! Nice memories, great to see it's still all there!
This should have millions of views
AND U "SHOULD" count them...
@@Robby4291 huh
I really like the side-by-side real time rendering.
This one deserves more views. Thank you for the attention to detail and for replicating as possible same camera angles and pannings. You got a fan!
this is were the magic begins i love Back to the Future
That is by far the most remarkable "then & now" video I've ever seen!!!! Thank you very much for your work, time and effort to give us an excellent video! You definitely just earned a new follower, please keep up the outstanding work! Nothing irritates me more than to watch these and it's a bunch of crap that doesn't make any sense. Well done !!!
👍😀👍
I just can't understand why some people gave this video a 'dislike'. It's so nice and probably took a lot of time and effort.
This is the UA-cam comments section, one of the filthiest places on the internet. I also can't get used to that.
@@DON666 You talk about filthy yet have 666 as your screen name
@@willp.8120 Why not? I don't understand the issue.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who is fascinated by filming locations!
Well done matching the shots
Lyon Estates never got built - must have been an alternate reality 2015
It's an open land still! Surprised the video was allowed on that road. Its blocked off.
The Twin Pine Mall banner is located inside puente hills mall.
Where at? Ive been there over 109 times
I remember that J.C. Penny , used to go threw there to go into the mall back then
nico B it’s like almost hidden , but it’s in their.
Q50 DANNY where is the “ lone pine mall sign”.
@nico B it's near where the sushi buffet is at, it's in that wing of the mall. It should be in front a sports memorabilia store
That was amazing you captured every shot perfectly
Very good job ! Thank you and greetings from switzerland !
I have watched a few of your videos and the attention to detail is outstanding. Keep up the good work.
Your after shots are really good! Subscribed. You obviously put a lot of effort into this.
Lmfao when I worked in amazon I delivered to that house in south Pasadena. No wonder it looked so familiar.
Amazon SUCKS! BOYCOTT THOSE ASSSSSSWIPES.
THE BEST then & now VLog I've seen. Great work! Thanks so. much for. sharing!
Thank you again for such a great video it's nice to see most of it is still there and interesting how the trees have evolved and grown
@4:00 thats the street i grew up on. Its in arleta 👍🏻
Had no idea that the last 3 year's I have lived a half mile from the lyon estates
This shows how beautiful 90's is.
Old is way better than now .. thank you for this video
Every one gangster until the Libyans pull up
lol underrated
THEY STILL HAVENT BUILT LYON ESTATES.
Very true!! 😄
Different time line
- Where's my house??
- Shut up and eat corn!
Still gotta get the property from old man Peabody
Hill Valley does not exist outside the universe of Back to the Future. That's why.
Thank you for doing this. Such great memories watching that movie.
Simply excelent work , thanks for sharing
It says 'SMEGMA' on the Hill Valley High School wall. Never noticed that before.
When I was in Hollywood I got close to the Lion Estates Lions at the entrance of that seen .
Anubis Smite same, but the rest of the area was closed off when I went
Beautiful work!
Amazing video. Great job.
A friend of mine’s husband was on a panel for some game convention years back. They agreed to meet in the bar of the hotel they were staying at, then go for a nice dinner. She got a glass of wine and sat at the bar waiting for her husband. She and a man seated next to her started talking about this and that for about a half hr. Her husband came so, she introduced “Chris” to him. When they were leaving for dinner he asked if she knew who that was?! She had no idea that she was talking to Christopher Lloyd! They guessed he probably was working the convention too. Did voice work for a game? Anyways she said he was the nicest guy.
Funny how many buildings it took to make one high school and sad to see the spot where George fights back in now grass/sidewalk.
Overall, good job nearly matching the spots.
(Also looks like they never used that field, "future homes for Lyons Estate", for anything else.)
Very well synchronized, good job. Mountains are always a good give away because those things barely change over several decades.
This was really enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
Time, time is what takes away good things... That is unless you have a time machine :P
Awesome work
Incredible work!
5:55 after all this time it don't look like they ever repainted this area.
Toó bad framing of the first location, because is not possible to see if the Burger King ad is in 2019.
Nice work!
Cool video. Great job
セットじゃなくて殆どが実際にあって、しかも殆ど残ってるってスゲーわ
lyon estates? gess not in this timeline.
That was awesome.. Totally subbed👍👍
Great work my friend, and great memories of a classic movie ,..that was part of my childhood growing up in the wonderful 1980s.....
4:01 - Funny how the cars from 1985 and 2019 look almost exactly the same.
Heavy.
this whole series that you do is fantastic! thank you!
Awesome video. Thank you.
I’ve always wondered how many kids did that guy hit to say, “Stella, another one of these damn kids jumped in front of the car!”
I know right? Too funny!
Is this is how griffin from men in black 3 see's things
It must be quite surreal to be in the same spot that was filmed in a very famous movie many years ago. Thank you!
What a perfect in-sync job! Thank you!
Nowadays, there's no longer such thing as filming locations. It's just green screen all over inside a warehouse.
Yeah. Pretty much
Not necessarily true. Joker was filmed in New York City and in New Jersey. The movie even managed to make staircase in the Bronx famous.
There's also behind the scenes pictures of them filming in the NYC subway.
Wow. That's so awesome! Thumb up! 👍🏼
Amazing work
Nicely made video. Good job!
One of my favorite movies! I love how the trees and bushes got so much bigger over time.
What a great video, excellent work.

That was AWESOME .... great work ..!!
very nice done :D i really enjoyed watching it. Great work
Great job!! Love the trilogy and love how you matched everything up.
They've hardly changed! Only trees are thicker. So amazing, so nostalgic.
