- So much drama over a batting practice home run ball! I witnessed BLATANT THEFT, but I don't know what happened leading up to it. If it was indeed payback for an earlier transgression (as the perpetrator claimed), you know what they say: two wrongs don't make a right. Nasty words were exchanged, but thankfully punches weren't.
Meanwhile I got tangled up with another fan as I reached for a ball that he was bobbling. Did we fight about it? Hell no! We laughed it off (and then things got awkward when I tried to high-five him as he turned away).
The Cincinnati Reds were playing the Chicago Cubs, so there was a larger-than-usual crowd to see these division rivals square off. And if anyone was here specifically to see Elly De La Cruz . . . well, it sucks to suck because he had the day off.

Haha, that was a surprise for people who actually watched it.
As an employee at GABP, I can confirm that the food is only good in the clubs.
But if you want good food, go to a frybox or Graeter's ice cream. But don't eat the soft serve, I worked in a soft serve stand for three months and I always tell people to avoid it because the machines don't get cleaned enough. But if you're somewhere like Scout's Club (where I work now), the ice cream is safe.
Also best food in the ballpark, if I were to pick, would be just about anything other than the hotdogs/brats in Scout's Club. Some of the best food I've ever eaten, especially the tenders

Great Video! GABP is my favorite stadium for ball hawking. Got 11 balls during 2 games back in April including a game home run ball. Seems like there were less fans in right field when I was there by the way.
Probably because you picked non-stupid games to attend. Seeing the Cubs in the summer was a rookie move on my part.
This week was amazing. It was an honor to ballhawk with you and a childhood dream of mine. Hope to see you again in the near future. I will never forget this! And fyi, I'll hit more than just triple digits throughout my career..

So he catches the ball and some a**hole standing a row behind him snatches the ball from his glove... as he's smiling real big in his face, then casually walks away with "his" new souvenir. That isn't as shocking as the response is from the dude who caught the ball. I cannot believe that his only plan of action was to say, "You literally just took the ball from my glove" and then watch the a**hole walk away again with YOUR souvenir!!! As a Yankees fan, I've never seen anyone do this to someone, but i can guarantee everyone here that if it ever did, the a**hole wouldn't take more than 3 steps before the ball was with it's rightful owner.
And if dude will let another guy steal a game used baseball from him, that he just caught, then imagine how he handles dating.
The guy said “I know” which made him even more of a jerk. Someone would’ve done something if he took the ball from a kid.
Great video, Zack! I’m sure you’re aware that this was just the 2nd time all season that you got double digits, and the other time was back in early April at Fenway. And I know you got double digits again on this trip, but no spoilers. It’s definitely the longest drought you’ve had without getting double digits… I mean there were some seasons years ago and went longer periods of times without attending a game, but yeah a historical low. No matter how many balls you get, I feel like you can still make a great video out of it. I know sometimes it’s tough too, though if there’s a lack of action.
#AidanKnows . . . and yeah, I feel like even with all the action, it's getting tougher and tougher to get views. I could've used a shot of the theft as the thumbnail but I didn't want to highlight the negativity (beyond what's shown in the video itself).

Hey Zack I love your stuff I was recently at a royals game when some royals players were tossing around a ball around the infield and Salvy tossed the ball to me. I wonder if you know how balls tossed around the infield in between innings are used in play because it looks like there was a mark where the ball got hit by a bat❤

@@zackhample being from Cincinnati I can say that LaRosa’s at GABP is nothing like the normal pizzerias. They make it way more sloppy with less care. You need to try it in the restaurant. It’s also not as expensive as it is at the stadium.

I’m surprised that you decided to go see the Cubs since they seem to draw a large crowd (even when they’re not good). But how early the gates open there definitely helped you.
I was not happy about seeing the Cubs, but this all fit in nicely with the timing of doing midwest stuff leading up to Detroit.
So A Little Backstory For What Happened at 9:28.

Early on in bp me and a couple of friends were trying to catch some fly balls and one ball in particular was actually hit basically to my friend.
My friend goes and tries to gets it and the guy in the cubs gear with the Pony tail at 9:28 comes in and pushes him and like kicks the ball away that way he could get it. Grown Man shoving a kid for a ball 😂 So the dude who snagged the ball outta the guys hands at 9:28 knew about everything and he got my friend the ball. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet lol

Alright since you wanna spread lies I’ll chime in here on what actually happened. He did not shove a kid for a ball. He leaned over a railing and scooped the ball up with his glove. The kid was trying to reach over a seat for the ball but cubs guy scooped it up first. It’s completely fair game and in no way did he injure the kid. I’ve been friends with that guy for years and I know damn well he would NEVER shove a kid
Let's get the real backstory. First it was said that Cubs shirt guy stole the ball from the kids, now it is "he pushed him down"... Hi, it's me - Cubs shirt guy. What actually happened was super simple. A BP home run was hit, landed in the seats. Your "friend" failed to make a play on it and the ball hit the ground. At that point, it's a free for all. My glove/ hand was the first one over the ball before anybody else's hand even came near it. Your friend got salty that he ALMOST had a ball and cried to daddy about it which created the issue to begin with. Had your friend asked for the ball, I would've gladly given it to him. But as I said, I didn't even see him nor know he was there until daddy made it an issue like a punk. Genuine question here. Is there ever a time you’re at your hotel or driving long distance/flying to a place and you don’t feel like going to a game once you get there? Or does your passion stay on 100 all the time? Just out of curiosity! When i was a teenager i went to an entire series and by game 3 i was ready to go at the end of the 1st. Grant it, it was scorching hot out for game 3 but you go to a TON of games. Does it ever get old to you or is it living the dream life 24/7???
I never get tired of baseball, but the grind and the sacrifice to my personal life is getting REALLY old.
