I agree with your description of a tabby. One year ago I adopted a 3 year old boy tabby, he is certainly bigger than an average cat, his behaviour is like that of a 3 yr old & SUPER sweet. My daughter calls him her "therapy cat". We tease by saying that after his written name there should be an "EST" designation which stands for "Emotional Support Therapist" & a certified one btw 😂😂😂
What is your definition of a tabby? Can any color cat be a tabby? I am new to the cat world, my beloved adopted shihzhu left her body 2 years ago, and I wanted to adopt someone who needed me the most. The shelter had 2 bonded cats who have FIV. One is an orange cat and the other is white/cream orange and we did the DNA test and it turns out he is a Ragdoll.
Can any breed be a tabby? If a cat isn't a tabby then what is it? Is that where calico comes in?
@bunjijumper5345 Yes, tabby is just a name for the coat markings. Can be orange cats, bengals etc. Stripes on forehead, cheeks, stripes, swirls or spots body.
Calicos are 3 color cats that can have multiple patterns including tabby one. Usually white, black and orange.

Great story. Thank you for adopting this big bundle of pure joy! Dean is so cute and talkative...chirps like a bird. Good idea using a tunnel to keep him safe outdoors until you build or buy a catio. No matter what anyone else thinks/says their perception that cats need to roam outdoors is irresponsible! Cats aren't safe outdoors, especially being harmed by subhumans. Indoors only peeps!

He is a very very sweet boy. He’s super affectionate & so talkative. His little yaps are adorable & he seems so mellow. Plus he purrs like a motor car. What’s not to love. You really have lucked out with this little guy. Such a cutie. 🥰🐈♥️

I have a cat that makes the same CHATTERING sound as Dean when he sees birds. I would have expected him to be more interested in the squirrels and rabbits, since their fur makes them look more similar to a cat. But he only talks with birds. Maybe they tell better jokes!

It's LOVE. Pure and simple. When a cat picks you out that's it for life and the love is unique and wonderful. Congratulations, mama. You are blessed as i have been and hope to be again soon. I've had cats for 54 years till i had to have my 7 year old euthanized for cancer which has hurt every day but she is not in pain.
