Hey JVN. Staying on the positive vibes we’d love some tips for how to take care of our bodies as stylists. Stretches… body and arm position… chair position… scissor hand and blow dry arm recovery. You know what I’m talking about. This gig can really twist you up.
I dont usually comment, but here it goes. I just wanna say that you really changed my life.. beautywise, hairwise but most of all i feel better about my body! I can be healthy, bigger and drop dead gorgeous. Thank you for your positivity and thank you for helping a sister out! Love you endlessly! Ps sorry for my english, it is not my first language
I'm the daughter of an English teacher who was always correcting me. I can say I have some of the best English grammar in the world. I can confirm your English here is almost 100% perfect. Amazing! Be proud of that too!
JVN!!! I cannot thank you enough!!! With this tutorial you have saved me so much time, energy, and money, and after just 10 minutes, my fringe now looks just as fresh as when I first got it cut. I feel amazing!!!
What a great video! It's informative and you guys are so sweet! Julie's hair is simply gorgeous! And that fringe is so cheeky and at the same time elegant! I love it. Thank you so much for sharing this!
You light up so many people's lives in so many different ways! I'm so happy we get alittle more extra you now! Would love to see a story time. Maybe you're favorite hair cut you've ever given or life lessons you've learned being a hair stylist. Wisdom you want to pass onto others? So many different things you could talk about honestly!
I am almost 40 years old, I have had full bangs most of my life, and I have ZERO INTENTION to cut my own fringe, but I will watch anything that JVN does :)
I need to grow some of my fring out as it goes beyond the recession. Thanks so much for this video. Her hair is so pretty. Its lovely to see someone with long hair and a full fringe
If you had any idea how all the QE segments of you point-cutting hair got me through the first 1.5 years of this pandemic; I get a lot of compliments on my imperfect home haircuts, and I think I owe any success to you!
The thing I love second most about this video is that it validates some of the techniques I have used to make my teen son happier with haircuts he gets. He often complains because of how the hair falls across his forehead (which he says make it look like a bowl cut). Cutting little shark teeth in and thinning out the bulky areas with what I now know is a slide cut. I think more hair stylists need to get better at dealing with people who have lots of thick hair that doesn't just lay down and do what you want. When I was in college with a pixie cut, really thick hair, and no money I had to figure out how to extend time between proper cuts because by 3-4 weeks everything sort of hedgehogged out to the sides with all my bulky hair. The one benefit of having lots of thick hair is it is forgiving to mistakes made while texturizing. Now I get to use those made up skills on my poor thick haired child. The thing I love most, of course is Jonathan and his amazing assistant Julie who has hair to die for.
This channel is everything! I'm so happy I subscribed to you. I feel so good and positive watching you and your aura of fabulous happiness. I also wanna cry because there needs to be more people like you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for being wonderful you!!! Hugs and kisses!
I am so thrilled you started this channel! I love Shu Umura products but they are so hard to find. My old salon carried them and the rep had to inspect the salon before they would let us sell it. I guess they really want to control their image.
Could you please do a video on how to cut your own hair from home? Especially in this whole lockdown situation I’ve wanted to learn but want to follow someone I trust 😊
Jonathan! I love you. I wish I could get you to look at my hair. I have a video suggestion. Could you help us understand how to take care of the different hair types without product? I have such sensitivities to chemicals. Thank you for joining the UA-cam train. 🥰❤⭐
This is soooo helpful!!! Thank you thank you thank you! This is going to completely change my home bang trim game! I can't tell you how many awful self-bang trims I have given myself, hopefully never again haha!!
"Welcome to JVN online school of cosmetology." lol Any tips for people trying to achieve luscious long locks? Specifically how to style in the awkward middle stage where it is a hot mess?
I’d love to see more gosh… did I just lost all of my English words (I’m Swedish). Well the length of my hair is something like yours Jonathan. Long enough so that I can collect all of it in a rushed scrunchy thing half way up my head, at least. I actually had a hair cut yesterday, cut off like 15-20cm. All of my worn out bleached hair is Gone! My natural tone seen for the first time, as the primary colour, since I was about 12 years old, which is about 36 years ago. 😳🙄🤣. I can wear it straight, curls… doubt it… they will be flat in 5 seconds… this hair is alive! I do want to wear it all up or partly up. Messy and quick rather than sweet, nice and tidy hence that’s not me at all! Oh and this is the “bad” thing, I do wear a bicycle helmet to and from work. 🤣 So quick and easy “things” that can be prepped at home but finished off when the helmet is gone.
hi jonathan van ness I love you so much. thanks for starting a youtube channel. and thanks you for starting queer eye. you change everyone life you help. your a gorgeous human being.
Nice 😍. You know what I would love to hear your opinion for ideas of haircuts for us BIG forehead people I always look bald when I put my hair up thanks forehead 🤣
Can we time travel back to the early 90's when my mom would put a piece of tape across my sister's forehead and use it as a guide to trim her bangs straight across? Because that nonsense should'a been nipped in the bud. Poor Big Sis...😝
The only thing wrong with this video is it needs to be longer because WE LOVE YOU!
The chair leg kick is now your signature move! Love it haha. 😆
Do I have bangs? No.
Do I want them now after seeing this video? Hell yes, please!
Samesies!
Haha me too but no…. I would not be able to leave them bangs alone… my hair grows like crazy…. 🤣

I've heard hearing damage is also possible from spending years being around blow dryers all day. I hope there are ways to prevent that.
Julie is gorgeous!
JVN is pure source energy.
It’s the opening kick for meeee!
I dont usually comment, but here it goes.

Love his hairstyle
I want a fringe now but I would only trust JVN with my fringe
Miss Julie you are so beautiful, and JVN you look adorable 🥰. Hugs 🤗
Thank you for explaining so clearly!
I needed this video 3 years ago 😂 I gave up fringe because of a bad self-trim but this may make me go back
Curly hair fringe next!
I feel like we need a video of tips for trimming your own hair out of lockdown necessity. Cause that would really help me right now 😬😜💇🏽♀️
You are so amazing, I always butcher my fringe! But my hair is rather fine yet curly.
I am so thrilled you started this channel! I love Shu Umura products but they are so hard to find. My old salon carried them and the rep had to inspect the salon before they would let us sell it. I guess they really want to control their image.

Now you just need a part 2 with some Beyoncé choreographed dance moves! 💃🏽
I'd like to see more video's on hair cuts, styles for someone who's hair texture is similar to Julie's
I keep wanting to cut a fringe in, but i keep chickening out 😆, this looks so good though, beautiful 💕
I wish I had this back when I use to try to cut my own bangs
I lovee your Lizzo shirt 🤩
Like I needed even more reasons to smile while watching this, and then I noticed it too!
"Welcome to JVN online school of cosmetology." lol
Any tips for people trying to achieve luscious long locks? Specifically how to style in the awkward middle stage where it is a hot mess?
Ile take the 10 hours of playing with my hair I would fall asleep @ 5 mum combing my hair , great fringe and the Jooj scrunchy👍❤️
So cute!
I’d love to see more gosh… did I just lost all of my English words (I’m Swedish).

You know what I would love to hear your opinion for ideas of haircuts for us BIG forehead people I always look bald when I put my hair up thanks forehead 🤣
Heey Jonathan
First i love you so much
Secondly can you please make a vid of how to take care of fuzzy dry ass hair
(Not really ass hair)
WOOHOO!
The two dislikes are people who are bitter that they can't pull off a fringe like Julie's.
Looks like i've been cutting my bangs correctly all this time lol
I love you.
Can we time travel back to the early 90's when my mom would put a piece of tape across my sister's forehead and use it as a guide to trim her bangs straight across? Because that nonsense should'a been nipped in the bud. Poor Big Sis...😝
Who is on Jonathan's shirt?
Lizzo!
Lizzo
she is so cute
This is exactly what I wanted for a cut but the girl cut it halfway up my forehead…I need you to fix my hair! Hahaha
ooooo can you show us men fringe? :D
You are so cute 🥰
Mmm…what about for curly hair? No go?
PLEASE come to my house and HELP Me....You are the best.
I am desperate to see you do your nails 💅
Who is this for? I’m confused by the expectations of this video on so many levels.
I think cosmetologists (either newer or in training) or people who have some experience cutting their own fringe/bangs, but want more details
Jonathan! This was magic and so positive, and I appreciate your talent and joy!
