Thank you for resurrecting the TCR for me. I have not been able to fully utilize it digitally since forever. This is a God sent and divine appointment.
Pastor, you are on another level of finding value in the Word of God! I really like this post and can't wait to use TCR in Logos the Tanner way. Thanks again for all you do!
Much love, John! I hope you have purchased this one from earlier, as some have reported that Logos no longer has the license. Regardless, god bless you in your studies! ❤️
@@PastorTanner I had to get it while it was hot off the "Press" I have prospered with the physical TCRB for years and knew this was a keeper. All the links and process you cover are still valid. Thanks again
Absolutely superb and concise description. Wonderful use of Search, too. I’m setting up mine in seven double-split panes on iPhone mobile, and three quad-split panes on my iPad (left out the photos on iPad, to make room for ESV)
I got this setup and finally feel like I know how to use it. Thanks for digging into this and creating a way to leverage this great resource. My first study Bible as a kid was the TCR (a LOOOOOOONG time ago). I still think it's one of the best resources ever and it is still relevant. Back in the day, it was kind of like Logos Bible Software in book form. BTW - I really enjoy your sermon prep streams. You're doing good things. God's rich blessings to you and your family.
Pastor, thank you! I have Logos 10 Lutheran Gold and was able to add Logos 10 Bronze and get this and much more for very little. Cannot wait to try it out in my studies today. Peace to you and yours.
Thank you -- was able to pick up Thomson Chain on the cyber Monday sale. Can't wait to check it out! Also, I believe there is a free Morris Proctor video where he explains his preferred layout for Thomson Chain -- it's a slightly different approach.
I love your stuff, thank you for doing this. Sometimes I have to stop and back up because I feel like I am trying to take a drink of water from a fire hose on full blast! Thanks again!
Much love to you! Yes, I have been told I talk too fast at times, I try to reign it in, but when I forget and go on autopilot it can be a bit much. Take care!
This is yet another video of yours I find myself having to review the video several times. Many thanks again for all the hard work and effort you put into these videos. I wonder how I can use this as i prepare to present a systematic theology class for the church I attend. Comments are welcome. Again many thanks, Pastor Tanner.
Thanks, Eric! This is a great resource for working through cross-references on specific theological topics. What I would do is identify the systematic 'themes' that you want to cover and then begin to follow the threads through the Bible for that specific topic. You may also find some help in the CSB Disciple's Study Bible and the ESV Systematic Theology Study Bible. Honestly, between these 3 resources and some thoughtfulness, you could put together a great series that is really focused on the biblical text itself.
Broooooo…… Thompson Chain Reference fully navigable digitally in Logos??? Insta-sold lol.. Great video man! Just purchased the full set and setting up now 💪🏻
Paz do Senhor meu amado! Simplesmente um espetáculo. A Bíblia Thomson é minha preferida a mais de 20 anos. Mas no software Bíblico Logos se tornou um labirinto (kkkk), mas com muita clareza o senhor nos revelou a melhor forma de usá-la.
This is due to how Logos built the resources. When it is looking for where to jump to in your resources it may see that your TCRBC doesn't have a reference for you, so it is trying to 'help' by bringing something up that does. Some commentary 'sets' work this way in Logos too, where if you are in the Gospel of John commentary and search the reference box for the gospel of Peter it will open the corresponding Peter commentary from the same set. To work around this I recommend adding search box to one of your windows and confining that search to 'open resources.' Then instead of clicking hotlinks you can search for the Thompson Chain Number in the search box and navigate from there. It is an extra step, but you will not experience any resource switching wonkiness that way. Take care. -tanner
For me, in the Thompson Chain suite I don't think I would add any. I am used to utilizing this resource in its own fashion as shown here. Though, now that you mention it, the topical index might be pretty nice to prioritize because then you can start 'jumping' into Thompson chain if it returns a hit.
Are you in Logos 10 (in a search tab pulled over like you did) Mine shows Left to Right The same as yours's through Books (then it goes Factbook Morph Media Docs Maps Factbook Tags Bookstore Clause & Syntax). It does have under Books (search All Text in All Passages in All Open Resources for) Mine goes All Open Books. All Text/All Passages. (Thank you for the Video's. I was trying to duplicate what you were showing in my New Logos 10. Christmas Present from my husband.
Hi, Dawnielle. Yes, I am in Logos 10 on this video, but an earlier version of it. It seems they have done some quality of life updates to the ordering of these things since I recorded this video. Enjoy your Christmas present! Your husband is awesome. :)
I’m fairly new to Logos Software and only recently familiar of the TCR. I can’t find this at the Logos book store. Does that mean they have discontinued it for purpose? Hard to believe that they drop a Hyper-linked TCR? Does anyone know what is going on?
@@PastorTanner thank you for the quick response. I’ll keep an eye out for it. Are you aware of a product and website(s) where I can purchase an electronic, hyper-linked version of TCR that interacts within itself but independent of Logos?
Hi, Darren! The software is called Logos Bible Software, you will find many videos about it on my channel. You can check out my buyer's guides if you are interested in purchasing. We use Davinci Resolve for video editing.
Oh no, it must have been removed. This happens with resources from time to time where they gain the rights for something but then subsequently lose them. You either have to wait for them to reacquire the rights, OR purchase the chain reference bible set from a user who currently owns it and then have them transfer it to you. Neither are appealing options. I am still waiting for the collected works of Francis Schaeffer to be re-released in Logos after at least a decade I believe. Best of luck! -tanner

Pastor Tanner why sometimes when I click on some of the reference in the TCMN, the TCRBC changes to the TCMN?
