For ½ kg cake you can take 6 inch cake tin 200 gm premix and 200-250 gm of cream and for 1 kg cake you can double the amount of premix and cream and use a 8 inch cake tin.

No it depends of what you are weight if you measure liquid it will be 250 gm but if you weight any kind of powdered form (Maida, Icing Sugar) it will be 125 gm approx.
