I was raised Catholic, even went to Catholic schools all my life and I was the ONLY one in my family who didn't feel fulfilled-not after a bitter divorce AND an anullment based on lies my ex told. SO, I began to pray to God for guidance. Well he made me friends with Pentecostals and I went to a service. Talk about an eye opener! But I loved that style of worship. I stayed there about 5 years and even got adult baptized. However I soon wanted something without such rigid rules and he led me to a nondenominational Christian church where I received baptism of the Holy Spirit and am still there and have never been happier. I'm currently trying to figure out how to evangelize because public speaking terrifies me and I'm somewhat of an introvert but I read the Bible and am changing for the better more n more. Thank you God!
So God just keeps leading you to whatever YOU want? You want fewer rules, He gives you that? It sounds to me like your faith is centered on what YOU want, not on seeking to know what GOD wants.

Faith is believing in God and all His teachings and trusting completely in what Jesus did for us and our salvation and what He taught His Disciples to write and teach all people to be saved.
Saved meaning you can't fall away from salvation?
There’s a lot more than faith that they wrote was necessary for salvation.
Faith without works is dead -The Holy Bible
You have the believing and trust part - that will move mountain. However, if you have not Love you are nothing. Faith also includes what God has put inside of us - The holy spirit. As Paul said in Corinth - Faith working thru love.
If youe believe, have faith n obey then no you can't lose your salvation. However if it's only lip speak and the hearts not involved then there was no salvation to begin with. Believing is obeying.. the whole ninle speaks of ppl not obeying him and the punishment that comes along with it. If only ppl would read their Bible. The 66 books. Then they'd know. Sadly they don't. John 3:16. Roman's 10: 9, 10. Works don't get you to heaven. Jesus does. John 14:6 Jesus says, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. Jesus said it!!! He's told you how to get to heaven.

Yes, I’m taking notes and screen shots all through this and others from Mike! I’m the only one in a large catholic family too. Elderly Dad is difficult to get through too, he questioned my adult baptism, told me that was done for me as an infant, he thinks the term born again is whacky, never misses mass, holy water by the front door of his home, idol statues and images everywhere. I am a convert to the Catholic Church out of Protestantism. The pastor of my previous Church became a Catholic along with his wife and children and he was a great inspiration for me to study the Bible instead of just reading it in the light of the history of the Church. Protestantism is a false religion and just like all false religions, its days are numbered.

I was born into a Catholic family, but after reading the Bible i noticed that Jesus never taught his disciples to pray to Mary, or to call priests Father, or Purgatory, or Indulgences, none of these are biblical and there are more... Its truly heart breaking to see so many people follow a religion of mans works 😢

History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Or restated, he desires to be ignorant. The Fathers, 1500+ years closer to Christ than he, rock his theology and prove it wrong. That would cause the Church of Mike to admit decades long error and have to admit, "I was wrong." And then he has the whole issue of marrying Jane after divorcing his first spouse, and she her first husband (this is rumored to be an issue which Mike has not denied).

Eastern church makes same appeals. Yet they soft pedal it. There are some differences, but at the end of the day, patterns are the same. It’s hard to find testimonies like yours of people who leave the Eastern Orthodox Church and can give a good exposition of how to reach them.

Church fathers were heretics. They never understood Paul. Paul had the revelation from the lord Jesus Christ and no church fathers had revelation. Paul stands superior to the church fathers.

I just finished watching Keith Nester, a highly educated protestant preacher who sacrificed many things in life for the sake of the Truth as he was challenged by the Holy Spirit. He spent many years researching and was finally convinced to leave his congregation, salary and many friends and became Catholic. His conversion story is awesome, highly inspiring & uplifting.

It's been a while since I've seen someone quote the catechism wothout actually reading it or the context of the quotes.
I was raised a Baptist and came Home to Christ's Catholic Church in 1987. I will tell you that there is so MUCH misinformation and misunderstandings that protestants have been fed about the Catholic Church. It's sad. Please educate yourselves and you'll find out how wrong protestantism is.

And how do you answer to the versicule "Without holiness no one will see God" or to the versicule "Not all who are called will be chosen" or to the Paul verses about losing such a great salvation for no being dilligent enough or so many others verses. The truth is that many believers loose their faith during their lives and by doing so their loose their salvation. Yes, of course. We have to take care of our spiritual lives.
Salvation is a GIFT OF GOD, and the the Bible tells us that "no one can be plucked from the hand of God", once you are saved, you are forever saved. You have been justified, acquitted of all charges, you are a new creature in God. God promises Eternal Life. We are made holy in God's sight, washed Clean by the blood of Jesus. We are Born Again as Jesus says we must be to enter Heaven. We sin daily because we are in our human, sinful bodies, but as we grow in the Word and learn what God wants of our life, we become less and less worldly and more in the image of Him. We ask for forgiveness daily because we have a Personal Relationship with Him. But we are justified and cleansed.
Salvation is a gift of God but the so called believer has to take care of it with FEAR of God. Read your bible and repent of false doctrines.

We still need to work our own salvation by cooperating with the grace of God.For if we are forever saved, why are there still unsaved or damned souls? Unless of course it is your personal belief that HELL would be emptied of its inhabitants in the ends.
@@rmiller815 That is not biblical. No one can take your faith because it is God given. What is biblical is that you personally can reject and resist your faith (please find several bible vs, on your own) Every time you sin, you are resisting and rejecting your faith and turning your back on God. Not asking forgiveness in your personal relationship is a rejection of your faith.
All Protestants preach salvation: by God’s grace, with faith in Jesus Christ, from Scripture, for the glory of God.

Keep in mind, the works of the OT law did not exist in Abraham's day. He offered his Son, a work of love (obedience to God). And his faith was made complete by works. Works - justified both him AND Rahab. When one is justified, one is 100% saved. A faith devoid of works of love can not save you.

A faith working in love. The greek word for faith, _pistis_ means BOTH faith and faithfulness. We have to be faithful having coming to that initial ascent of faith, the "I believe." Faithful to God, obeying the commandments, loving both him and our neighbor.

SO many Catholics in the comments here who either didn't listen or don't understand the difference between justification and sanctification. Jesus saved once - for all, he continues to sanctify until he comes. Don't mix the two together. You can't be gradually justified, it is a declaration and a one time thing. Your standing before God cannot change once you are saved, the things you do are those things that are in keeping with being sons of God, don't try to use them to add anything to your salvation, they are merely good fruit of a branch that is healthily atttached to the vine that is Jesus.

It's not the knowledge of the words that is important but how those words ffect your salvation. If people have half a gospel, they are less than half saved. Words are important and so is knowing what you have to contribute to salvation. Nothing. It's a finished work on the cross. Therefore, to teach people that their good living can somehow please God in terms of their salvation is just plain wrong. We always had a Bible but didn't get to read it until the Catholic Church allowed us to read it. Then the scriptures convicted me and I was saved.

It was the Word of God that drew me to Catholicism - when I realized how the various Protestant sects could not even agree on how to interpret Scripture, and how they ignored and explained away much of Scripture, or refused to interpret it plainly and literally. When I began to see how many evangelical Protestant practices and beliefs were based on the traditions of men - and fairly recent ones at that - or on marketing research rather than on the Bible, I began to ask questions no Protestants could answer to my satisfaction.
In addition, when I realized how much of anti-Catholic rhetoric was based on misinformation and historical inaccuracies, as well as a complete misrepresentation of Catholic theology and doctrine, I began to wonder about the integrity and knowledge of many Protestant preachers and apologists.
Protestantism is so fractured, resulting in divisiveness, disagreement, and schism after schism. Is this what Christ prayed for in John 17? Is this movement, based on so much religious pride (“Our little group has the correct interpretation of Scripture and everyone else is wrong”.) possibly of God? Too many Protestants who aren’t filled with pride, thinking the Holy Spirit guides them into truth that others can’t grasp, instead embrace relativism - “This is my truth”.

But he was the exception that confirmed the truth of the transubstantiation in the Eucharist. Clement of Alexandria called it a mystery and if he understood it only symbolic he wouldn't have said it's a mystery. They all believed in the transformation of the bread in the real flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. This was the uniform teaching of the the early church of Jesus Christ. Ignatius of Antioch wrote in the 1st century A.D. in chapter 7 of his epistle to the the Smyrnaeans AGAINST THE HERETICS the following:
"They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess NOT THE EUCHARIST TO BE THE FLESH OF OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again."

The emperor Constantine 1 declared only the faith of the Catholic Church that the emperors before him persecuted more or less strong for 300 years to the official religion of the Roman empire. Paul makes clear in different Scripture passages that the Jewish Sabbath is no more binding for the Christians in the new covenant Christ made with his blood on the cross. I don't know by heart the Bible passages. And this is also proven by the writings of the early church fathers.
14. The clergy of the RCC is not unbiblical because Jesus Christ never abolished the ordained priesthood. There are only different forms of the priesthood. Monks for example follows only the call they received from Jesus Christ to live only for him. They do what the rich young man refused to do when Jesus invited him to follow him in the gospel of Matthew, Luke and Mark. This is absolutely biblical and not at all unbiblical.

Ex-Catholic here. Yes that's the point I don't agree with either. Even if you're justified, if you commit sin or live a life of sin, you are bound to hell unless you repent.
You were better off as a Catholic. Luther added "alone" to justified by faith. It isn't in the original text. And Luther cut the Epistle of James from the Bible, because he didn't agree with it. So, Protestants don't have to address it. In addition, Catholicism has the Sacraments: look up the Scientific Analysis of Eucharistic Miracles and see why Jesus said that without the Eucharist you "have no life within you."
I don't believe that repentance and confession are an anathema to justification by faith. They are an on going part of any walk with God through Christ Jesus. Repentance is a gift, a wonderful gift in walking with the Holy Spirit.
James talks of works SHOWING your faith and walk with God. It does not talk about being justified by works. Infact Paul talks about the law being given to show mankind its waywardness. The outward keeping of the 10 commandments does not equate to righteousness...Jesus upped the bar, it has to be the reality in your heart and we all need tge power of the Holy Spirut for that to become reality in us...David talked about God desiring truth in the inward parts. Abraham was justified through faith. Repentance is a wonderful GIFT!!!!....HALLELUJAH. If you believe the Bible, then you'd have to agree with Jesus in Matthew 15:24, that he only came for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
You'd have to agree with Jesus in Matthew 5:18, that no jot nor tittle of the Old Covenant Law would pass away until the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with it (what Jews referred to as "heaven and earth") passed away.
You'd have to agree with history, that the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with it passed away in AD70.
You'd have to agree with Paul, who said in Romans 5:13, "Where there is no (Old Covenant) Law, sin is not taken into account." This of course means that salvation was only needed by those who had sin taken into account, which is not us today.
You'd also have to agree with Hebrews 9:15, that redemption was only for those who sinned under the first covenant, which again...is not us today.
The bitter pill of truth is that nobody has been saved nor redeemed for nearly two thousand years. The "church today" has been in a massive error; a complete hijacking of ancient Israel's exclusive redemptive narrative, the Bible.

The gentiles Paul and the disciples were preaching to were either Greek converts to Judaism or the elect diaspora, grafted-in descendants of the tribes of Israel who had been dispersed among the nations. Through the ministry of the disciple's great commission, they were called out from the nations to again be a holy nation of kings and priests, sealed for the day of redemption, which only they lived to see. Nobody today is a gentile of that sort.
Today's self-appointed, self-professing "Christians" have been hoodwinked into believing they're sinners under a law that passed away, and need a savior who said he came for someone else, who will save them from a sin that's already been removed, and a judgement that already happened and allow them into a covenant that was made with someone else. What I find difficult is when I encourage them to read the Bible for themselves, I know we have different Bibles and I don’t want to accidentally encourage them to read their false doctrine. But they are not willing to read a different one. And the Catholic Bible on the YouVersion Bible app does still says, “She will bruise your head, and you will wait for her heal.”
And when you encourage them to read the Bible for themselves, which non-Catholic conclusion/gospel do you tell the is the correct one? Is it the ones that believe infant baptism is salvific or the ones that do not? Or full immersion or not? Is it the Liberal Evangelical version or the Conservative Evangelical version? Could it be a Calvinist or Armenian or Reformed or the Anglican viewpoint, Dispensationalism, Antinomianism? Those that believe in woman ordinations or same sex marriages? Lord’s supper symbolic or sacramental? The once saved always always saved group or the not? Should women keep silent in church or speak and is this with or without their heads covered? Maybe Mormons, JWs, SDA’s, Christadelphians, or the Oneness Pentecostals position as they too preach from the same bible also??? Surely you cannot think all these positions are acceptable. If not then which one is correct and why do you get to be the one to choose? Is yours the infallible one? If not then who really cares?

Well, it follows that at the original Lord’s supper, the bread and wine there were also substantially Christ’s body and blood, as that is where He said those words. And it would follow, then, that that was also a sacrifice. This would mean that Christ was sacrificed before Calvary, as that supper happened before He was crucified. Wait a second, are you saying you havent read the early church fathers? Surely you should at the very least check out what they said, so that you are fully informed? I used to be protestant but God moved me towards the catholic church and then I read the church fathers. It wasnt solely because of the early fathers, it was a spiritual transformation, but the writings of the church fathers are astonishing. You cant just dismiss what they say. The word of God is number 1 for sure, but the early fathers and what they have written supports the bible. There is nothing in the early fathers writings that contradicts the bible(except those who were found to be heretics). What they wrote backs up the word of God and it also confirms that the church is inherently catholic. I'm not saying that protestantism is a heresy but its not the complete picture, its missing a lot of pieces. I know this experientially. When i go to mass I feel God's presence in the catholic church, if I go to a protestant service the presence of God is not there, Im sorry to say. The difference between the two services is one is alive the other is flat and lifeless. The protestant service, on the surface is very demonstrative, and appears to be lively, but its not.

I read your comment and agree - but I cannot tell if you are Catholic, or formerly so. I converted to Catholicism in mid-2020, and had my children baptized. Because to Jesus crucified by Mary. It was an incredible realization that Jesus is exactly who he said he was, and did die for our sins. However, since then I have found Catholicism a lonely and isolating experience. The way rules are discussed remind me of Jesus’s time in earth and the Pharisees. I have been praying for enlightenment and for God to show me the truth. I saw a comment on another video of this man that asked the question: “when we die, I wonder if God will care what denomination we were?”. Mega-churches seem to have completely missed the point, and I do very seriously wonder how their members seem to have overlooked so much that is obvious. But Jesus is the Prince of Peace, he tells us his burden is light... then why is being Catholic so anxiety-ridden and guilt-inducing? Lord help us all.

There are many versions of the Bible, so how do I know which one to buy. I was born & brought up RC in Ireland, but I have been asking myself questions for a while now, so Mr Gendron teachings has made me think twice about why have I not being going to church, Mass, & confessions since about 8 months now.
This depends on your needs. The fundamental truth is that no matter what translation you're using, you're going to get pretty much the same message. Different wordings, different styles, but basically the same. Since you're a Catholic, I'd just go with a Catholic Study Bible. It's got loads of notes and loads of explanatory stuff as well. Personally I would stay away from super new translations that are more interested in "inclusivity" and other woke ideologies than they are about giving us God's word. I would definitely stay away from the New World Translation, as that's the JW translation and the Jehovah's Witness religion is a form of Arianism. I'd also recommend you get yourself a good Catholic catechism. The Catechism of the Catholic Church lays out what we believe, from the nature of God, through the sacraments and the life of the Church, with the historical attestations, works of the Church Fathers and biblical foundations. If you're having questions and doubts, I would seriously recommend the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism.
Questions are good! Be sure to compare whatever Mr Gendron says Catholicism teaches with actual Catholic sources. Also keep in mind that Mr Gendron converted from the Church, the one that Jesus actually founded, to some other more modern church. The Church has been at this for 2000 years: Mr Gendron isn't saying anything the Church hasn't faced before and either refuted or agreed with.
Translations DO matter, especially with bibles with commentaries. #1 = Stay with a Catholic Study bible. Suggest having more than one so that you can compare translations and commentaries as some bibles will have more or less commentary on specific verses. The St Ignatius Study Bible is excellent, both for the translation (RSVCE) and the commentary.
At 38:15 the pastor in a video lied and misquoted the verse because the very verse proves the Catholic view that justification and sanctification happened at the same time, the pastor said "Titus 3 said; he saved us not by the righteous work but by his mercy" but the verse said " he saved us not because the righteous works we have but by the washing off the sins and renewal of rebirth" justification and sanctification at the same time. May the Lord rebuke the false teachers and liars such as the one in the video.

The Jews of Jerusalem needed a big change of mind: they had thought Jesus was worthy of death; they needed to see Him as their Lord and Messiah. Before coming to Christ, our perspective on everything was different. Scripture records two forms of baptism: water baptism and Spirit baptism (Luke 3:16). The context of Acts 2:38 points to water baptism, though, with the mention of “the gift of the Holy Spirit,” Spirit baptism is also at play.
Arguments about the relation of water baptism to salvation can become intense. First, we need to establish that baptism is a command (Matthew 28:19-20). However, we should avoid making water baptism a prerequisite for salvation. In the very next chapter, Peter preaches another sermon (Acts 3:11-26). In it, he commands repentance (verse 19) but never mentions baptism.
We are saved by grace through faith, not by faith plus baptism (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism is symbolic, representing outwardly the inner transformation of the Spirit. Peter commanded it in Acts 2:38 as a way to publicly identify with Jesus.
But what did Peter mean by commanding people to be baptized “for” the forgiveness of sins? The Greek word translated “for” (eis) in Acts 2:38 can mean “because of” or “as the result of.” The word for in English can carry a similar meaning: a doctor’s advice to “take two aspirin for your headache” is an obvious command to take the pills because of the headache. Noted Greek scholars as A. T. Robertson and J. R. Mantey have maintained that the Greek preposition eis in Acts 2:38 should be translated “because of” or “in view of,” not “in order to” or “for the purpose of.”
The same Greek word (eis) is translated “at” in Matthew 12:41:
The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at (eis) the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
They repented “because of” the preaching of Jonah. In the same way, one should be baptized “because of” the forgiveness of sin.
So, why do we need to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sin? Repentance is a necessary change of mind for salvation, and baptism is a symbolic act through which we identify with Jesus. Both actions demonstrate our faith in Christ and our willingness to obey Him.

I do admire how well my Protestant friends know the Bible. However, all devout Catholics know it as well and are actually the ones who chose and compiled the books in the Bible. I’m sorry that you’ve never had a priest tell you to read the Bible (that’s awful!) but I have. If you go to mass every Sunday, you will have heard the entire Bible (all 73 books) in 3 years. If you read the Catholic Catechism. and the entire Bible for yourself and attend mass, I believe you will understand and see that the Catholic Church has a reason for every single tradition and action. Many Protestants have only been taught lies about the Catholic Church. Most of what this man is preaching is not true. He might have good intentions and believe what he is teaching is true or maybe he was poorly catechized by a lukewarm Catholic who doesn’t really know Jesus. This man has presented Catholic dogma correctly and fairly and contrasted it with the scriptures. There are so many Christian churches, how is one to choose? All of the Protestants do things even ever so slightly different from one another and so much bickering between them. If we should not have any images whether it is considered as gods or not, then having photos and paintings of our loved ones too should be prohibited. In that case, Israelites too have committed sin fir having the Ark of the Covenant which had the images of cherubim in gold. Even Moses committed sin by making bronze serpent and hung it on a pole. Those bitten by the serpents looked at the bronze serpent and were healed. Solomon's Temple too had images to beautify it. I think you should ask this question : what type of images are prohibited and why.

A suggestion for what to do when talking to Catholics: Try some *humility.* Show some grace. What has always turned me off about evangelicals is exactly the arrogant, condescending attitude shown even in the title of this video. Then throw in the fact that we are routinely falsely accused of many things because so many evangelicals 'learn' about the Catholic faith from anti-Catholic bigots rather than going to the source and finding out what the Church *actually* teaches.
God the Father wants UNITY among His children. He wants us feeding the poor and visiting the sick and bringing Christ to *those who don't know Him.* Instead evangelicals spend their time and energy fighting their own brothers and sisters. It's very sad and surely does not show me any light of Christ that would induce me to join their brand of Christian faith.

I was raised as a Catholic and attended Catholic school through grade 8. All of my life I felt conviction of sin and that I was being drawn, but I questioned Catholicism constantly. It didn’t make sense to me that a religion that claims to believe in the love of God was so against any other faith that believed in God. I started to read the Bible and made an appointment with the priest at my church. But by bit, God opened my eyes to the false teachings and His truth. In time, my whole family repented and followed Jesus. My mother’s conversion wasn’t until she was dying from cancer and watching the 700 club. Her deliverance was the miracle we had been praying for. Though her life on earth ended, she lives eternally in the afterlife with her Savior! I am in awe of the work God has done in my life and my family. I eagerly look for His return.

The Church was founded by God the Son. His way is counter-cultural. His way is not the way of the world. His way is not the way of Pat Robertson. Of course the Church stands against all other religions! We recognise that there is Truth in other religions, just as God can give his grace to people of any faith. This doesn't change the fact Christ founded only one Church, and that church is not the 700 Club or the SDA or any form of Evangelical church or any Lutheran church or any kind of Baptist church. The only religious institution that can successfully make the claim of being the Church that Christ founded is the Catholic Church --- The Church. The Church has stood solidly on the bedrock of Christ's teaching in the face of individuals and groups and alternative churches, all of whom claim that they believe in God, for two thousand years.
The question is not "do you believe in God", but rather are you doing what God asked you to do? The entirety of scripture is all about God forming people who will obey him rather than rebel against him. This spirit of rebellion extends into the religious realm as well. If you want to know and live the gospel, if you want to follow God's lead then you need to be in his Church. Catholics stand for obedience to God and the kind of Church he founded and ordained. Protestants either reject this or have grown up in a situation where they never understood this.

One cannot pray a blanket prayer to cover future sin. Repentance is a change of mind. How do we know Mike Gendron is not one of those people the apostle Paul warned us about? He says that Catholics deny salvation is by grace alone through faith (Eph 2:8-9) which is simply not true. He cleverly inserts the words, in the same sentence, according to Scripture alone despite the Bible never once, anywhere stating this. Just wanted to point out that what I learned from Protestants who became Catholic and Catholics who became Protestant. It can be quite revealing. I have yet to meet a former Catholic who actually understood their former faith (again, bad catechesis). And almost every Catholic I've met who used to be Protestant has been a practical encyclopedia of both Protestant and Catholic theology. Some of the biggest names in Catholic apologetics are former Protestant pastors. Unfortunately, Mike Gendron falls into the category of not being properly educated in his former Catholic faith and then spread this false information to those who don’t know better. My advice to anyone who truly wants to follow Christ is to go watch a conversion testimony of former Protestant who became Catholic (there’s literally thousands of videos) and then ask yourself why so many educated leaders of the Protestant community have converted?

The liturgy of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is true worship of God. Jesus is truly, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. As Jesus says, as revealed in the Gospel of St John, if you do not eat my flesh and drink my blood you do not have life in you. Jesus was not joking when he said those words, he watched as many disciples left him because they would not believe him.
Why any catholic would leave the Catholic Church and protest the true presence of Jesus in Holy Sacrifice of the Mass , is beyond my understanding. Satan is truly strong. The Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is the One True Church. When you criticise her don't forget that Jesus had to contend with Judas, a disciple Jesus chose.
What made me finally believe in the Eucharist was the fact that I went to Perpetual adoration. The week after I felt such peace.
