FIRST
Tyrese being out might have actually been a benefit to them, since he's been playing somewhat hobbled with his back and he was by far their largest defensive liability in the first two games. Important thing for this game was the pacers were up because they were hitting tough shots, not because we were giving them the keys. The moment that tough shot making slowed down we took our opportunity and ran with it, something all championship caliber teams do. If you go back and look at great teams of the past, they didnt just blow out every game, they just beat whoever was in front of them. Some of the time that means getting lucky, but most of the time that means simply outlasting good runs from their opponent. The pacers are a good team that has made it here, we have to give them their flowers.
Sometimes role players "become Michael Jordan or something", theyre NBA players, theyre good and entirely capable of this. A lot of the time stuff like this happens because gameplans focus on denying the best players on the team good looks and living with what the role players can give you in lightly to moderately contested look. And importantly on the topic of Tyrese is that he revolutionized the team's style and is integral to it, but the team has adapted to playing like that even without him. Especially with the addition of Siakam who was already exceptional in these fast pace transition teams.
Tillman is a big dude. Also, our defense was getting butchered by Indiana in the third. Tillman low-key was a major reason our defense stepped up.
Bruh this has happened all year vs Celtics. Guys coming out nobody knows scoring a clip. It's normal... Pacers can't do it again, that was it right there.

nah i'm done complaining about how they win. These teams go into bezerker mode vs the C's, who cares the name on the sheet when theyre shooting the lights out. Celtics have shown some grit in these wins. They don't always step on the throats, but they never give up either and Tatum is getting his stroke back. Nothing but love for this team

Even though no Haliburton, Nembhard did play the game of his life to make up for it and no one could have expected that. I hadn't realized Sheppard sucked so hard though, he was like 0-7 and definitely if Haliburton played the combo of Nembhard/Hali would have done better than Nembhard/Sheppard as you figure even if Nembhard doesn't score as much there is no way he'd throw up a 0

Why should it have been a blowout? That's just disrespectful to the Pacers. This is coming from a Celtics fan. They've been the top offense in these playoffs. They've played really well without Hali in the regular season. Aaron, TJ, and Pascal are really good players. I'd love a sweep. BUT, if the C's drop game 4. I ain't upset. I ain't panicking. Sometimes the ball don't fall the way you want it.

And put some respect on Brissy. He brings that energy. And Tillman, or Young Horford, can go against Luka without a problem. Learn the players beyond the top 9 rotatation. Hauser has been frigid lately. So if someone can come off the end of the bench and help. Put them in. Svi will bring it. Walshy will too. Queta will bump and grind for that ball in the paint.
With KP and Kornet out. It can't all fall on Horford. Brissy fights for rebounds. Xavier will too. Plus, Brissy knows how Indy works. So, it makes sense to give him some minutes.
Pacers, Heat and Cavs need to shoot historicaly in order to win us. Like Brown said some of these players turned into freaking Micheal Jordan or whatever. Let's not worry.

It’s hard to see this in highlights but this was just one of those games where every shot the Pacers made was going in, it didn’t matter how tough the shot was they were all dropping. But in the 4th quarter I saw the Celtics reach a NEW LEVEL!!! The defense was immaculate, the passing was outstanding, the finishing was perfection!
If this isn’t “battle tested” I don’t know what is. The Celtics proved that they are THAT TEAM this game, even after the ENTIRE pacers team had magnet ball.
