My wife and I watched the Stern interview with Bruce last night and it reminded me of the night that I got a chance to talk to Bruce outside of the bar that I was playing in Wellington, Florida. Thinking back now, I have to say that it was one of the most special moments of my life. To be able to sing Bruce songs FOR Bruce while he was in there eating dinner and then to be able to talk to him and find him to be the most gracious human being that I've ever met in my life. His beautiful daughter Jess was a young girl at the time, and she stood there intently watching and listening to every word I said. To be able to meet one's hero and to completely blow the whole "don't ever meet your heroes because you'll be disappointed" idea right out the water, man what a blessing.
Beautiful Story. Touched me just listening 2 him tell his story about Bruce. Ima huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and his music has helped me in my life and means a lot 2 me :) Whenever I feel sad or am just having a bad day all I gotta do is listen 2 his music and I feel all better :) Thanx so much 4 sharing this.
This is such a great story. In true Artie Lange fashion it ends with him in jail the next night saying "I hope Bruce doesn't hear about this" lol. Hope he's doing OK
In his book this story is different on a few levels ...He and Bruce didn't talk for an hour and a half ..Bruce just said a few kind words..And Howard never called his house ..he called Artie "once" when he was in a mental hospital and they spoke for a couple of minutes..Howard even goofs on the fact about how awkward the conversation was on the air..I know Robin and Tim Sabean visited Artie in the hospital right after his "suicide attempt"..and Fred and Gary visited him when he was in that same mental home..
Perhaps for privacy sake he didn't want to tell everything in his book until he'd checked with Bruce that's the way it works in showbusiness. Why would he lie to ostracise his hero don't be dumb.Course Howard would good on him he's a vile ,unfunny ,old woman with huge issues and Narcissism due to pathological lieing and being a closseted homosexual like Oscar Wilde which is why his art has suffered like Wilde's did till he came out.

Jesus can this woman stop making noises while Artie I talking? Mhhhm... right... yeah... uhuuu... hmmm.. right.
Super annoying
She’s driving me nuts. She doesn’t need to acknowledge every third word.

Bruce never called Artie... it was Gilbert impersonating Brucie.
Or sour shoes 😂
I just cried listening to this
Too early to nominate Bruce for Sainthood?
Beautiful....
Wow. Very cool.
In that picture, Artie looks healthier, or at least happier, than Bruce.
Who's the woman they're with in the photo?
Think Artie’s ex Adrienne
Tramps like us, Artie; baby we were born to run! Cool story.

Alby Coppola arties storied ALWAYS slowly change every time he tells them (and he tells them repeatedly). Just depends on who he is trying to impress.
Artie always said "never let the truth get in the way of a good story"
Great story, happy for you Artie, BUT, who's the woman behind that sexy voice speaking with you?!!
Mhmm
Artie latching on to another celebrity.
