My heart feels very touched by how Muslims think about Jesus. Despite that we (Christians and Muslims) share little similarities, this is just astonishing. It only enforces the fact that Jesus once walked on this earth. Please forgive my little knowledge but may God bless you.

I am interested in the last statement, saying "He (Jesus) is our role model", but why there are more discussions about Mohammad, and why do Moslem have prayers for Mohammad, and i never heard any for Jesus.

This whole stupid Islamaphibic and Muslim hatred needs to stop! I grew up in a Christian home and in a Christian town, with Christian citizens. God was fed to us 24/7, and every religion was wrong, but especially Judaism and Islam. I today am Agnostic, meaning I believe in a higher power of sorts, but not necessarily God, YHWH or Allah who are one and the same. With my Christian roots tell me that Muslims were wrong and blasphemous, I wanted to find out why they're wrong. To a shocking surprise, researching and comparing the Abrahamic religions, Islam makes the most sense. Every ignorant Westerner, particularly America needs to watch this. Gets me fuming when these people hate on a religion that they have no idea about...

I understand why Islam thinks of satirical cartoons as disrespectful, but what about traditional paintings depicting God the Father, Jesus (pbuh) or the prophet Muhammad?
Is the Sistine Chapel or famouse religious painting considered a sacrilage in Islam?
Is there such a thing as a Muslim portrait painter?

Hi, see as a Muslim who believes in all Messengers of Allah, I do view the paintings or sculptures of Jeses PBUH and anyone else as offensive. As for the Muslim portrait thing, go here on Ruling on drawing animate beings islamqa.info/en/39806

narutoroxanne22 Thank you so much for your informative response. It's quite fascinating. Now I've seen Islamic Persian and Turkish and even Islamic Mongolian texts which represent the human form. Do you know of any famous Islamic abstract painters? Thanks :)

Sergio Lobato I don't think there are KNOWN Islamic abstract painters, because even if they are under the label Islamic maybe they're painting are what God doesn't like. You CAN though go through Google images " Islamic painting abstract" & will see the use of Arabic calligraphy in it, since it's so elaborate.

Where did Muhammad get the information that was placed in the "Qur'an"? From an "Angel of Light" clamming to be the angel "Gabriel". So let us see what Jesus and the apostles told us about information received from angels of light?
    2 Corinthians 11:13 - 14
13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 AND NO WONDER, FOR SATAN HIMSELF MASQUERADES AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
    And
    Galatians 1: 6-9
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 BUT EVEN IF WE OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN SHOULD PREACH A GOSPEL OTHER THAN THE ONE WE PREACHED TO YOU, LET THEM BE UNDER GOD’S CURSE! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
Muhammad tells us that Jesus was a prophet of God ( and a real prophet of God does not lie) and that we must do what Jesus tells us to do. And what was the very first thing Muhammad did? He listens to "AN ANGEL OF LIGHT" that tells Muhammad he is the angel "Gabriel". This " ANGLE OF LIGHT" then proceeds to tell him a "DIFFERENT GOSPEL". And what happened to this "DIFFERENT GOSPEL" he received from this "ANGEL OF LIGHT"? It was put into a book. You can read it for yourself. It is called the "Qur'an".
What is it again were we instructed to do with "ANGELS OF LIGHT" that preached a "DIFFERENT GOSPEL"?
"8 BUT EVEN IF WE OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN SHOULD PREACH A GOSPEL OTHER THAN THE ONE WE PREACHED TO YOU, LET THEM BE UNDER GOD’S CURSE!"
So why do you suppose we were instructed to not listen to an angle of light even if he claimed to be from God?
"FOR SATAN HIMSELF MASQUERADES AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT."
Why would anybody trust what is written in the "Qur'an" If its author is to be under God curse.
This right here is proof that Muhammad was no prophet. Not one sent by God anyway.
Why did Muhammad do the very thing Christianity teaches us NOT to do and listen to an "ANGEL OF LIGHT"?
Could it be that Satan simply used Muhammad to spread his faults doctrines (LIES).
How can one be certain that this "ANGEL OF LIGHT" calling himself "Gabriel" was not from God? Simple...His teachings contradicts the teaching of Christ. He was teaching a DIFFERENT GOSPEL.
Other than passages pertaining to Satan and his entourage masquerading as angels of light there is no references to Muhammad in either the old or new testament. Without confirmation from the scriptures the only thing supporting Muhammad's prophethood is his own words.
You have the "Jesus" that was IMAGINED IN MUHAMMAD'S MIND in your life, not the one described in the old and new testaments. You are in love with a fairytale. A character invented in mind of Muhammad.
Could have Muhammad been deceived by Satan himself posing as an angle of light into spreading a lie about who Jesus truly was? If Satan could fool millions of people into rejecting the real Jesus and accepting his powerless counterfeit, they would have nobody to interested for them at the throne of judgment on the last day.

      *****
There are literally thousands of writings of all kinds from thousands of different peoples. Written thousands of years before the Quran was ever given to Muhammad that have never changed. Am I to then understand that simply because all of these other writings have been preserved, they too must be the words of God? Your premise that simply because the Quran has been preserved it must be the word of God is a logical fallacy because the same cannot be said of all writing that has been preserved.
P.S. Satan is also able to preserve corrupted writings of he own. That is until the real light of God exposes its lies.
I have read the Qur'an myself. Perhaps you should read what the bible actually says yourself instead of taking the words of your imam's without question.
Ho...Wait, You can't question your Qur'an .....To do so is forbidden by the Muhammad himself.....
Those who teach lies never want you to expose those lies by looking outside of those lies. Those who teach the truth encourage you to verify their words with investigation of all information. Even that found elsewhere because doing so only helps to confirms its authenticity.
