thanks, i try to incorporate the old bare knuckle skills with old school boxing as i feel that the skill level in boxing now is so poor, thanks for the video, i bought the book because of your presentation
good, thanks, i ordered the book because of your video. This is sound teaching and can be integrated into the old school boxing system which is best. Modern boxing is so shallow when it comes to basic skills, just watch to professionals and tell me how they could possibly rank amongst the great technicians of the past

Hey not everyone's video or sound will be perfect but this was good video This can be confusing for new folks to try and learn while reading the text, and many really do not understand the history behind what you are doing unless they read the text or do some research on Col. Monstery, but this was way before JKD, and Bruce Lee. Thanks for the video.

The Colonel learnt a style of Boxing from a German gentleman named Lidersdorff, which he mastered and went on to teach it. I have no idea to what extent he adapted it to suit principles he learnt from his fencing background. He notes similarities between the line of power when fencing and that described in his boxing notes but I don't know if that was incidental or additions to the system by himself. It says in his treatise that it was radically different to anything he'd seen in the popular Bendigo system of boxing so I wouldn't totally discount the notion that Lidersdorff incorporated some other principals from other Martial Arts of the time.
You know what I think? I think people have always taught bullshit martial arts/self defense. Courses like the Col.'s (and does it explain where he got this rank of Col. since he was discharged from the Navy at around 17) were marketed to "Gentleman" fearful of the "Ruffian". Now considering how much manual labor took place in those days, these Ruffians were damn strong men AND they fought regularly as part of their lifestyles. Contrast that to the soft life of the Gentleman. Physically it's no contest! And these pathetic fighting techniques served to only enrich the good Col.'s bank account. They are not going to stop the Ruffian.
Here's some modern day Ruffians, the good Col.'s methods will not work!
