The Brooklyn pastor who says he was robbed in the middle of giving his Sunday sermon stole $90,000 in retirement savings from one of his own parishioners, a lawsuit filed last year in Brooklyn Supreme Court alleges.
Lamor Whitehead, the bishop at Leaders of Tomorrow International Churches in Canarsie, is accused of convincing 56-year-old Pauline Anderson to invest nearly her entire life savings in one of his firms - with the promise that he could help her buy a home despite her bad credit history, the court papers say.
Anderson wrote Whitehead a $90,000 cashier’s check in November 2020 and relied on him to give her $100 monthly allowances to pay for her living expenses, according to the lawsuit.

I may not be a lawyer nor a realtor but assuming that a 1.6 million dollar home is in your name means you can use it as collateral for a personal loan granted there will be a lein against it. Transferring the deed to a company now means that you can get a business loan and use the home as collateral...yeah why else would someone do that all for $20 🤔

Last week, The City reported that a parishioner was suing Whitehead for stealing her life savings of $90,000, which she’d entrusted to him to help her buy a house. She’d had trouble getting a home loan because of bad credit; Whitehead had helped her son find a place to live, and he encouraged her to seek Whitehead’s help. But the pastor, after taking her money, allegedly told her he was treating it as a donation to his campaign for Brooklyn borough president. Last summer, he accidentally emailed her son a contract to purchase a $4.4 million mansion in Saddle River, New Jersey, although the sale never went through.
What does he own, then? A more modest (by comparison) home in Paramus, New Jersey - a six-bedroom McMansion that he purchased for $1.64 million in 2019. It has a double-height living room, lots of cherry-stained wood, and the main bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub overlooking the yard.
Some of these church folk can be so stupid...some don't think or realize they're more educated than the woman or man of God. Yes, some of these leaders are ignorant an uneducated.

I don’t understand how a Pastor can take anyone’s money. I have not hear yet that he put a gun, knife or any weapon to this woman and robbed her. Nor have I heard that he threatened her life if she didn’t give him the money and or forced her to go to the bank and withdraw the money, or if she had that kind of money in her home and he saw it and robbed her! I have not heard that the woman was senile or has a memory deficit, confused in her thinking and he bribed her out of her money. If her own son referred the Pastor to his mother because the Pastor previously did a good deed for him and helped him find shelter then it appears to me there was some level of trust there for the referral to exist. That is a sizable amount of money to hand over to anyone without legal consultation and or a sound person present when this transaction occurred. it’s going to be interesting when we discover the basis of this allegation and all parties involved. I just can’t image the character assassination of this Pastor/ Bishop by so many people and fellow ministers, whom God only knows what we all have repented for with our terrible thoughts and misdeeds to others.

People low rating this house have no idea about NJ and the cost of living. Paramus, pronounced Par-ram-mus. It’s in the “city” area of NJ, so to get that much square footage is rare. This ain’t Atlanta, so what you can get for 500K, will cost well over a mil here. The only thing I don’t like about this NJ house is the architecture and materials choosen. I’ve passed by this house. It’s near a freeway. The architecture of the exterior is wanting. The interior is nice enough, and maybe folks in the south can do better, but based on the cost of living in NJ, the house is considered exceptional. New Jersey has the highest taxes in the nation, but Paramus has lower taxes because it’s near the mall. For NJ, the average year property tax on a house like this would be at least 26-38K in taxes alone. But like I said, the town he is in has Lower taxes. I don’t have a house as substantial as this, so me to judge would be petty. I’d take this house! Lol. But, I know the area, this house would be considered a 7-8 in Paramus’ ms mansion world simply because of the square footage and acreage. You can buy a new bathtub or tile at a whim, but not land in a prime area, and the area is considered to be prime based on access and proximity to NYC.
