This is a good car, and one that stands out. Not an exciting or dynamic one. Still, I can see this car being pretty nice to live with. Great video though, extremely enjoyable!
Still need oil to make all the plastics inside and out, tires, mining for the raw steel and aluminum. List goes on and on. Batteries aren't exactly good for the planet either. Soooo all this eco crap is a sham.
@@MD-pz3cn For now, yes these things require oil. Eventually though, 3D printing will take over, along with non-petroleum based forms of plastic and rubber. We may even find an alternative and more sustainable way to power our electric cars without mining lithium. As science helps us gain knowledge, technology will progress along with it.

VW is infamous for electrical gremlins. A VW EV should prove...interesting. It looks nice, but there are nicer EVs coming to market from Hyundai and Kia. This was quite an entertaining video considering there was no engine noise. Trapped in the backseat by child safety locks and almost witnessing an accident.

I live in Germany but looking at the US websites from VW and Tesla, the ID.4 starts at 40.000$, the Model Y at nearly 60.000$. Real world winter tests at 120kph come up with the result that the ID.4 can reach up to 300km, the Model Y around 330-340km, so a range difference of 10-12%. And even though I have a Model 3 I don't care about FSD, sooo... 🤷♂️
vw seems to have traded off extra body weight for less range. maybe thats the reason why the id.4 is easier to repair for insurance rates purposes. tesla uses too much aluminum which is very hard to repair but very light. insuring a tesla is super expensive. the FSD is a gimmick I dont really care about. both cars have the issue of a very expensive battery replacement (almost guaranteed in 15 years). although i would trust tesla more for its battery reliability. One big advantage tesla has is the mobile mechanic that comes to your home. My past experiences with vw repaid have been horrible. Their dealerships hire the dumbest mechanics. but i expect vw to have figure out basic things like water splashing on bumpers, trunk etc that most car companies have figured out 50 years ago. unlike tesla.
How can people say this car looks good... It's just another flavorless eco-box with a terrible interior, full of screens and poor ergonomics. No emotion at all, no sound and overall nothing to like about this. It's not original, ugly, and no fun to drive. Better off with a Corolla Hybrid.
