Hi, pre-debut Stay here. JYP's official notice came out on Oct 28th, 2019 citing that he chose to leave the group and end his contract for "personal reasons". No other info has ever been made about it. The bad blood is emotionally based as SKZ were getting ready for their Cle: Levanter comeback and their first world tour. Everything had to get pushed back and all the songs had to be re-recorded as 8. Chan sent a letter out apologizing to Stays because he had always promised that the group would remain as 9 (the "9 or none" phrase had been a calling card since pre-debut during the survival show). So he felt like he had let everyone down when the 9th member left. There were several clips shortly after of the members just being very emotionally drained (Hyunjin was crying during tour because he was afraid Stays would leave). The 9th member has a solo career now, he wasn't blacklisted. I personally don't mess with him or his music as I did feel like he betrayed the group by leaving, but I had good memories when he was around so I just focus on the beautiful family that SKZ are now. The "8 is fate" has become the new calling card, and the members have regularly re-iterated that they are 8 (I mean the album ATE is literally a play on words for that reason) - on purpose that it's the 9th EP and named ATE? Maybe...plus the guys have all re-signed with JYPE so they will continue to be 8 moving forward. They've also re-released nearly every song as an OT8 version now so we don't even have to deal with him on the playlist.
He was also the main vocal and ex sm trainee that didn't debut in nct probably because he didn't meet their visual standards. He was also the oldest and Chan rly counted on him in the vocal department. He was suppose to be a person on whom the maknaes could rely on and learn from. It must have been hard on the vocalists and Han when he left. After that for a while skz were "known" for not having a strong vocal. It was amazing how esp Seungmin and Han stepped up

Lol He became my bias so quick.. it was crazy because at first I had a obsession with Felix and Hyunjin but my eyes just kept going to HAN and how beautifull his face is. Its just the kind of guy where your eyes wander off too. Not alot of people can have that type of attention grabbing feature. He stole my heart in 2 months of knowing stray kids and has been my Ult bias for 5 years. He for me is a way deeper level than just visual and voice. There is just this thing about him.
LONG STORY SHORT: The member that left is Woojin. He is a soloist now and for the sake of both him and the members it's best to seperate them, no one knows why he left besides for the JYP statement that said 'personal reasons' and none of the members ever talk about him, they only mention how hard of a time 2019 was for them as a group. LONG VERSION: He left randomly due to 'personal reasons' mid comeback preparations in 2019, skz had to delay their comeback and rerecord/rearrange/refilm everything in a rush, that was the levanter album, and whenever they look back on the time theyre all very quiet and sad, they havent mentioned basically anything about it, they dont speak about the member and havent directly done so since he left but, they have made some remarks about how they all felt at the time, chan has made some indirect comments too about feeling 'betrayed' in some earlier lives which a lot of people have taken as a comment regarding Woojin. SKZ also often say how they think 'levanter' is their true beginning, which in many ways is wholesome but does bring ideas that his leaving was not taken well. Both skz and Woojin are better left of not associated with one another and better to just try not to engage with stuff regarding the situation. Tons of Stay at the time that he left were confused and most of them often still talk about how they can see how hard it affected all the members. It's also strange that skz went on to later rerecord previous songs without him, it's not common for companies to do that when a member leaves. Another key thing to mention is that during their first concert as 8, all the members broke down in tears during their ments, Stay have never seen them like that and since then we haven't seen them that distraught. Hyunjin was basically on the floor and begging Stay to not leave and keep supporting skz through the hard times. Even members that rarely cry at concerts were massively affected. If you want reasons for why he left, no one knows exactly, there's speculations but nothing confirmed. There were some strange allegations made against him around a similar time as he left but as far as I'm aware they were proven to be false. Although, if I may add my own thoughs and some extra info, he announced he's joining a new company to debut as a soloist on skz anniversary, and then proceeded to release his fandom name on Stay's birthday. Could be coincidental but yk. Another thing that happened a few months ago was him signing to a different company, releasing a video about an upcoming album which included a weird ass random apology to stay and stray kids (which was deffo way too late and could've been done privately), only to release his new song the day after. It just felt very calculated but yeah. It's normal to be curious or to make assumptions but it's best to not really be vocal about them as there's a lot of people who either are extremely hateful to him or the skz members. WJ gets a lot of hate and since we don't know what happened I don't think it's fair to start the hate train. Best to ignore him and focus on SKZ. :)
I think skz’s debut day and stays debut day has significance to him too considering he was apart of the group. ( ofc I can see why stays would be mad ) He had one apology in 2019 ( which no one mentions for some reason ) in his goodbye letter and decided to apologize again in 2023 because it was his new beginning and he was unfortunately still getting hate for leaving. First thing you see when you open his comments are people calling him a a rapist ( which was proven false )
With his new start he could have made his own days and new beginnings. When he did that, that was the last straw for me. He is shady and calculating and he just needs to make his own stuff separately from Stays and SKZ.

I can see why he’d choose those dates and I can understand why you’d be mad at him for not choosing new dates. You have no arguments from me here. No because I completely understand the feeling that Esosa gets when she sees Han, he is my most favorite kpop idol ever. When I got into stray kids I could never not smile and be happy when Han shows up on screen he delivers his lines sooo well and his personality is to die for he’s soo freaking adorable I love him sm!! And also there is Minsung, Minho and Han. But also if you didn’t know Han and Felix are known as the sunshine twins.
Still figuring out why some of their btracks arent rerecorded, like 3rd eye and Hero's soup. They removed his written verses on their mixtapes, so it doesnt seem to be about him cowriting the nonre-recorded songs.

I think skz did what other groups are afraid/or can’t do when a member leaves the group & I honestly admire them for that. If other groups had the chance I’d think they’d re-record their discography too. It was a harsh time, so I suggest you find someone who talked about the situation without bias.
I'm the happiest stay ever rn and I'm sooooo excited for more stray kids content since y'all are my fav reactors with my fav group ughhh . Voices was the first ever skz song i heard of theirs. That time, I didn't know K-pop at all, but when I heard this song, I literally broke down and was on repeat for days, then went on to check more of their songs and to my amazement their songs just resonated so much with me then. Fast forward to 8 months later, I went on to find out more of who they were on youtube and finally put some faces on those voices I've been listening to all these months. Side effects tho, cemented me, a true fan, that song to this day is THE best one and I wish I could listen to it for the first time again a true out-of- body experience listening to that song. Also, I was more mind blown at the fact that when I finally read the english lyrics of the songs months later, I already understood the songs. Their music truly speaks to people who really need it.
With woojin there was rumors that end of being false and I think that was after he left but he left for personal reasons we don’t know why. And he isn’t black listed but he just doesn’t have a big fan base but he’s a solo artist now
Agreed. I think he just didn't want to go in the same direction as Stray Kids were going. His solo music is very different. We all make decisions when we're young that we regret doing the way we did, so I don't think folks shouldn't still be holding animosity. Life's like that and I think everyone's in the place they need to be now 😊

My favorite OT8 version of My Pace is from the Hi-Stay Japan concert. If i remember correctly it was their first big concert with only 8 members and they killed it!

The member who left the group is Woojin He left the band, Ripped his contract with the company and did not explain the reason why he left He left them during their upcoming album (comeback) The guys had to reshoot music videos, redo choreographies, re-record songs within a month. They were so tired to do all of these things in the shortest possible time. A lot of "stays" left the Fandom because Woojin left. Hyunjin later cried at their first eight-piece concert and begged fans not to leave them.
it was a rlly hard time so whenever we see him on mvs he's kinda like the dark sheep 😭😭 he had a lot of rumors and false accusations of SA and many more but it was proven false so there's no specific reason to his exit but bang chan went live on that time and talked about how if u promise ppl something u have to do and a lot of personal stuff and at the end he added "stays know who im talking about" so the fandom kinda has bad blood against him so they blurry him or censor in mv, compilation and etc! he apologized for leaving but never said anything more and yeah they have ot8 versions of everything! he rlly left at the worst time tbh😭

If Esosa will bias was Han and Ozlem bias was Lee know which what she said, this channel will the first MINSUNG BIASES, even their color was a symbol of Wants so bad which is the minsung color (green & pink)symbol. 24:54 Yes, there is an entire album of Ot8 versions of their songs its under 'Skz2020' and 'skz2021'. Some songs, dont have Ot8 versions, but most of them do!
The craziest thing about the Woojin situation is those SA claims were in retaliation to him leaving the group. I wonder what goes through peoples head to try and ruin someone’s life like that. So yeah some stays were mad about that rumor + him leaving the way he did right before a comeback ( which is valid ). It’s been 6 years now and I would hope everyone is over it now
Idk about the SA rumors but I know some ppl still dislike him because they think he used SKZs success and milestones to drop comebacks, teasers and mini documentaries promoting himself. There is still animosity.

Idk if the constant harassment is valid tho, especially considering we always claim that we “don’t care about him” but if you check his comments … anyways stays should just ignore him
that's my biggest problem with some stays. i was obviously very mad when he left, and i stayed mad for maybe a year. after that, i just forgot about him. i don't see why they need to hate on him anymore? i got over it, skz is successful, woojin is a soloist, why keep a grudge?
48:35 yeah Chan does take a back seat a lot, especially in their earlier stuff. During their survival show, JYP even told Chan that he needed to be more selfish on stage to let himself shine and that was one of many pieces of advice that Chan ignored from JYP lol. But actually, I think Voices is one of the songs where Chan's vocals really shine. His part in the chorus has me ascending every single time I listen to it, and the first time I listened to this song, I had to go back and listen to his part again and again. It's still one of my favorite Stray Kids songs.

I'm late to this and I don't know if you'll see this but I wanted to comment on the woojin situation. I'm a stay since debut. In 2019 they were promoting their song Double Knot as a pre-release before Levanter album. After a week the promotion suddenly stopped. There was silence from the official skz acc and from the members for two weeks. We all felt uneasy and we guessed something bad would happen. I woke up one day and saw the notice from the official skz acc saying Woojin left for personal reasons. Till today we don't know why. It was just strange to us that he would leave in the middle of promotions and after already filming content for Levanter album (which he had to be edited out of). Later on Chan did a live where he mentioned how hurtful it is when people break their promises. Felix started using the hashtag 8. They were already in the preparation for their first concert when he left the group. At the concert Hyunjin broke down crying begging stays not to leave. The kids re-recorded their entire discography so have ot8 versions and they now refer to the start of stray kids as 2020 after he left the group. That's enough for me to make up my mind on where I stand as a stay.
I think I understood what she was saying at the end. They definitely have too many songs for all of them to be on there, like they have solos and duets, and even just side group projects that aren’t attached to any albums. but you guys can always check out the “skz-record”s in their skz-replay playlist on their channel, which has all those songs. They’re soooo good and it’s like the members’ chance to express themselves creatively in their own ways, all the songs are amazing.
you don't have to ignore Woojin, don't worry, he wasn't a bad person. its just that he left so suddenly that a lot of people felt really betrayed bc it happened out of the blue and a lot of work had to be put in to fix things. he was one of my favourite voices in the group so thats why i dont like to diminish him completely, it kind of feels weird that people want to act like he wasn't there. he also worked hard to get there but he left without feeling the need to explain or apologize. anyways, he didn't do anything criminal, he just made a selfish decision that hurt the group and the fans. So y'all can still enjoy the old music without feeling iffy :)
I know. I understand the pain the members must have felt when he left but Some stays they just take it way to far like even after the SA allegations where confirmed to be Fake and made by Anti Fans in Brazil it really is sickening how some Stays will go to his Instagram and still hate on him and even comment they waited until he left to become stays because they didn't like his visuals and still treat him like a Criminal, Like yeah Stray Kids at 8 now but leave the man alone now. Also he explained over the years before he officially apologies to the members, that he was in a very negative and dark emotional place, like when it was revealed that JYP had him on a corn only Diet and not the other members just because fans weren't happy with his looks in the group. I am glad that he put his health and well being first as I have seen to many Idols over the past 7 years keep it bottled up and lead to hurt and pain, felt bad for the rest of the members though. I have been a Stay since Jun 2018 and Woojin was my Bias (Still is but as a Soloist) with Seungmin (My current Bias) and Felix always fight for Bias Wrecker for me back then. Still support both and Woojin is now under SM which seems like it was meant to be he was originally an SM trainee so.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. It's been so long since I listened to some of these songs, that I forgot how much I love them, not actually a stay but I've listening to them since the beginning and rooting for them because they deserve it.
I LOVEEE the Seungmin's voice appreciation 😍, like he was that good since the start and has improved so much more ❤. Also you being shocked at the talent they all have since they were so young is so real, and lets not forget all this songs where written and composed by 3racha and some even arranged by Bang Chan (M.I.A is one of those), like that is insaneee, they where 17 - 20. And we know they mean everything they sing because it's their words.

Hey guys❤ I want to say thank you for all these SKZ reactions. It literally brings so much memories back. I became a Stay during Levanter era and everything was a little chaotic but they became my safe place for a longggg time, especially my little Hyunjin. Watching this now, being also a Carat and Seventeen being my ult group, it brought me into tears. I don’t follow SKZ as much I used since SVT became my everything but watching your journey it made realized how I miss them (or maybe miss old times were life was simpler and happier for me). Voices was and still my favorite SKZ song. Hearing it and reading the lyrics after a long time, made realized how I have being able to kinda shot down those mean voices in my head and how that song was my company through tough times. Anyway hahaha I’m enjoying this re-journey (for me) with you guys🫶🏻💘
If yuo are really interested , the russion Stay made a video " The Story of Stray Kids : from " company failure " to Leaders of Generation " ( История Stray Kids : от " провала компании " до Лидеров Поколения " ) in two parts . They talk about what the group went through ( all the hate) and the diparture of Woodjin , which divived the fandom . You can turn on subtitles . The group survived not only Woodjin's departure ( just before the comeback ) , but also Hyunjin's suspension for 4 months ( because of which he did not participate in " Kingdom" ) and Han's panic attacks . The film is really interesting .

Yes, SKZ2020 and SKZ2021 are the OT8 versions. I love Question, it played in the arena prior to the Ft Worth (along with Wolfgang) and the whole crowd was singing along, it was so much fun.
Every time i watch someone deep-diving into skz, the woojin "talk" is what I fear the most because of the misinformation and plain hate that I know the comments will be filled with. Some stays never waste a chance to paint him as a bad person for reasons that are entirely subjective to their own feelings. Yes, him leaving caused the members to be emotionally distraught for the obvious reasons (them being overworked tho was not woojin's fault, the company should have handled all of this better from him leaving to the group to their schedule), HOWEVER what most forget is that it was tough for woojin too, he didn't wake up one morning and told the company "bye I'm leaving", he opened up many times about those times where he even thought about quitting music altogether (and if you know a bit about woojin you know how he LOVES singing). Both parties were hurt and BOTH of their feelings should be respected without the need to villanize one of the parties involved. Anyway I always encourage people to NOT trust what they read and try to inform themselves from official and reliable sources which yt/twt/tt/insta comments and posts are NOT, to form their own opinion. Btw you should definitely check out woojin solo stuff, it's really good and I believe you both would enjoy it!

Lol He became my bias so quick.. it was crazy because at first I had a obsession with Felix and Hyunjin but my eyes just kept going to HAN and how beautifull his face is. Its just the kind of guy where your eyes wander off too. Not alot of people can have that type of attention grabbing feature. He stole my heart in 2 months of knowing stray kids and has been my Ult bias for 5 years. He for me is a way deeper level than just visual and voice. There is just this thing about him.
LONG STORY SHORT: The member that left is Woojin. He is a soloist now and for the sake of both him and the members it's best to seperate them, no one knows why he left besides for the JYP statement that said 'personal reasons' and none of the members ever talk about him, they only mention how hard of a time 2019 was for them as a group.
LONG VERSION: He left randomly due to 'personal reasons' mid comeback preparations in 2019, skz had to delay their comeback and rerecord/rearrange/refilm everything in a rush, that was the levanter album, and whenever they look back on the time theyre all very quiet and sad, they havent mentioned basically anything about it, they dont speak about the member and havent directly done so since he left but, they have made some remarks about how they all felt at the time, chan has made some indirect comments too about feeling 'betrayed' in some earlier lives which a lot of people have taken as a comment regarding Woojin. SKZ also often say how they think 'levanter' is their true beginning, which in many ways is wholesome but does bring ideas that his leaving was not taken well.
Both skz and Woojin are better left of not associated with one another and better to just try not to engage with stuff regarding the situation.
Tons of Stay at the time that he left were confused and most of them often still talk about how they can see how hard it affected all the members. It's also strange that skz went on to later rerecord previous songs without him, it's not common for companies to do that when a member leaves. Another key thing to mention is that during their first concert as 8, all the members broke down in tears during their ments, Stay have never seen them like that and since then we haven't seen them that distraught. Hyunjin was basically on the floor and begging Stay to not leave and keep supporting skz through the hard times. Even members that rarely cry at concerts were massively affected.
If you want reasons for why he left, no one knows exactly, there's speculations but nothing confirmed. There were some strange allegations made against him around a similar time as he left but as far as I'm aware they were proven to be false.
Although, if I may add my own thoughs and some extra info, he announced he's joining a new company to debut as a soloist on skz anniversary, and then proceeded to release his fandom name on Stay's birthday. Could be coincidental but yk. Another thing that happened a few months ago was him signing to a different company, releasing a video about an upcoming album which included a weird ass random apology to stay and stray kids (which was deffo way too late and could've been done privately), only to release his new song the day after. It just felt very calculated but yeah.
It's normal to be curious or to make assumptions but it's best to not really be vocal about them as there's a lot of people who either are extremely hateful to him or the skz members. WJ gets a lot of hate and since we don't know what happened I don't think it's fair to start the hate train. Best to ignore him and focus on SKZ. :)
I think skz’s debut day and stays debut day has significance to him too considering he was apart of the group. ( ofc I can see why stays would be mad ) He had one apology in 2019 ( which no one mentions for some reason ) in his goodbye letter and decided to apologize again in 2023 because it was his new beginning and he was unfortunately still getting hate for leaving. First thing you see when you open his comments are people calling him a a rapist ( which was proven false )
With his new start he could have made his own days and new beginnings. When he did that, that was the last straw for me. He is shady and calculating and he just needs to make his own stuff separately from Stays and SKZ.

I think skz did what other groups are afraid/or can’t do when a member leaves the group & I honestly admire them for that. If other groups had the chance I’d think they’d re-record their discography too. It was a harsh time, so I suggest you find someone who talked about the situation without bias.

Voices was the first ever skz song i heard of theirs. That time, I didn't know K-pop at all, but when I heard this song, I literally broke down and was on repeat for days, then went on to check more of their songs and to my amazement their songs just resonated so much with me then. Fast forward to 8 months later, I went on to find out more of who they were on youtube and finally put some faces on those voices I've been listening to all these months. Side effects tho, cemented me, a true fan, that song to this day is THE best one and I wish I could listen to it for the first time again a true out-of- body experience listening to that song. Also, I was more mind blown at the fact that when I finally read the english lyrics of the songs months later, I already understood the songs. Their music truly speaks to people who really need it.

The craziest thing about the Woojin situation is those SA claims were in retaliation to him leaving the group. I wonder what goes through peoples head to try and ruin someone’s life like that. So yeah some stays were mad about that rumor + him leaving the way he did right before a comeback ( which is valid ). It’s been 6 years now and I would hope everyone is over it now
Idk about the SA rumors but I know some ppl still dislike him because they think he used SKZs success and milestones to drop comebacks, teasers and mini documentaries promoting himself. There is still animosity.

48:35 yeah Chan does take a back seat a lot, especially in their earlier stuff. During their survival show, JYP even told Chan that he needed to be more selfish on stage to let himself shine and that was one of many pieces of advice that Chan ignored from JYP lol. But actually, I think Voices is one of the songs where Chan's vocals really shine. His part in the chorus has me ascending every single time I listen to it, and the first time I listened to this song, I had to go back and listen to his part again and again. It's still one of my favorite Stray Kids songs.

I'm late to this and I don't know if you'll see this but I wanted to comment on the woojin situation. I'm a stay since debut. In 2019 they were promoting their song Double Knot as a pre-release before Levanter album. After a week the promotion suddenly stopped. There was silence from the official skz acc and from the members for two weeks. We all felt uneasy and we guessed something bad would happen. I woke up one day and saw the notice from the official skz acc saying Woojin left for personal reasons. Till today we don't know why. It was just strange to us that he would leave in the middle of promotions and after already filming content for Levanter album (which he had to be edited out of). Later on Chan did a live where he mentioned how hurtful it is when people break their promises. Felix started using the hashtag 8. They were already in the preparation for their first concert when he left the group. At the concert Hyunjin broke down crying begging stays not to leave. The kids re-recorded their entire discography so have ot8 versions and they now refer to the start of stray kids as 2020 after he left the group. That's enough for me to make up my mind on where I stand as a stay.
Watching these past few videos has allowed me to experience find SKZ all over again, thank you for allowing us to go on your journey with you ❣️

I think I understood what she was saying at the end. They definitely have too many songs for all of them to be on there, like they have solos and duets, and even just side group projects that aren’t attached to any albums. but you guys can always check out the “skz-record”s in their skz-replay playlist on their channel, which has all those songs. They’re soooo good and it’s like the members’ chance to express themselves creatively in their own ways, all the songs are amazing.
you don't have to ignore Woojin, don't worry, he wasn't a bad person. its just that he left so suddenly that a lot of people felt really betrayed bc it happened out of the blue and a lot of work had to be put in to fix things. he was one of my favourite voices in the group so thats why i dont like to diminish him completely, it kind of feels weird that people want to act like he wasn't there. he also worked hard to get there but he left without feeling the need to explain or apologize.
anyways, he didn't do anything criminal, he just made a selfish decision that hurt the group and the fans. So y'all can still enjoy the old music without feeling iffy :)

I understand the pain the members must have felt when he left but Some stays they just take it way to far like even after the SA allegations where confirmed to be Fake and made by Anti Fans in Brazil it really is sickening how some Stays will go to his Instagram and still hate on him and even comment they waited until he left to become stays because they didn't like his visuals and still treat him like a Criminal, Like yeah Stray Kids at 8 now but leave the man alone now. Also he explained over the years before he officially apologies to the members, that he was in a very negative and dark emotional place, like when it was revealed that JYP had him on a corn only Diet and not the other members just because fans weren't happy with his looks in the group. I am glad that he put his health and well being first as I have seen to many Idols over the past 7 years keep it bottled up and lead to hurt and pain, felt bad for the rest of the members though. I have been a Stay since Jun 2018 and Woojin was my Bias (Still is but as a Soloist) with Seungmin (My current Bias) and Felix always fight for Bias Wrecker for me back then. Still support both and Woojin is now under SM which seems like it was meant to be he was originally an SM trainee so.

Hey guys❤ I want to say thank you for all these SKZ reactions. It literally brings so much memories back. I became a Stay during Levanter era and everything was a little chaotic but they became my safe place for a longggg time, especially my little Hyunjin. Watching this now, being also a Carat and Seventeen being my ult group, it brought me into tears. I don’t follow SKZ as much I used since SVT became my everything but watching your journey it made realized how I miss them (or maybe miss old times were life was simpler and happier for me).
Voices was and still my favorite SKZ song. Hearing it and reading the lyrics after a long time, made realized how I have being able to kinda shot down those mean voices in my head and how that song was my company through tough times.

They talk about what the group went through ( all the hate) and the diparture of Woodjin , which divived the fandom . You can turn on subtitles . The group survived not only Woodjin's departure ( just before the comeback ) , but also Hyunjin's suspension for 4 months ( because of which he did not participate in " Kingdom" ) and Han's panic attacks . The film is really interesting .

Every time i watch someone deep-diving into skz, the woojin "talk" is what I fear the most because of the misinformation and plain hate that I know the comments will be filled with. Some stays never waste a chance to paint him as a bad person for reasons that are entirely subjective to their own feelings. Yes, him leaving caused the members to be emotionally distraught for the obvious reasons (them being overworked tho was not woojin's fault, the company should have handled all of this better from him leaving to the group to their schedule), HOWEVER what most forget is that it was tough for woojin too, he didn't wake up one morning and told the company "bye I'm leaving", he opened up many times about those times where he even thought about quitting music altogether (and if you know a bit about woojin you know how he LOVES singing). Both parties were hurt and BOTH of their feelings should be respected without the need to villanize one of the parties involved.
Anyway I always encourage people to NOT trust what they read and try to inform themselves from official and reliable sources which yt/twt/tt/insta comments and posts are NOT, to form their own opinion. Btw you should definitely check out woojin solo stuff, it's really good and I believe you both would enjoy it!
