There are diesel treatments you can get to stop/kill off the bug in tanks, because once its started you won't get rid of it unless you clean the tank fuel lines and filters
Nice wee tractor Dan it's a pity she hasn't the original engine but she runs very well looking forward to your next installment ps hope you have a happy Christmas 👍
Hi Dan thanks for that . Good job done . I expect the look of that non Perkins engine is troubling you 😂 …….would you consider putting a genuine ad 152 back in her ? Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Nice little professional bodge/none bodge job Dan😁👍. The diesel bug is a pain, I’ve just found it’s in my trac tank now🤦♂️ Plus the estates tractors! As far as I known it lives in the diesel/water bit. Least you’ve some diesel for cleaning parts now 🤪. Hope you and the family have a good Xmas
The Fud Weasel is doing a great series on Multi Power, go and take a look at that, it's packed with all the information you need ua-cam.com/video/42pzutz5naM/v-deo.html
Love the 500 series tractor 💪 but would have to say that engine although sounds good would annoy me as not a Perkins but that's just my opinion 🤔 good video 👍
I had the gunk in the 471. I changed the filter and just run it often. Never saw it again. I keep fuel barrel in shade and under a roof. What is the motor??? I liked the 152 in the 231s🙂. Merry Christmas Dan👍🏻
Hi Dan, Bit of a random question but I recently was given a 550 free from my uncle. The power steering isn't working in it. I'm not sure where the fluid is located. Where would I find it? Sorry for the stupid question..
I forgot to say your videos are excellent 👍
Very interesting and another great video as always Dan 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Good video, excellent, informative commentary. Looking forward to your metalworking skills on the exhaust video.
Tidy little tractor that, can't beat a bit of red-top 500 action. Thanks for sharing.
I prefer single door silver top 500 series

The fuel tank on the 550’s may not be large but these tractors sip fuel slower than it evaporates 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm on the lookout for a correct engine.
A few years ago my Land Rover was plagued with diesel bug and when I drained the tank it came out looking just like Birds custard. Horrendous stuff,

It's a licenced Perkins copy, made by Simpson in India and widely used in Tafe tractors.
It should have a Perkins AD3.152s
Get an original engine for the poor old girl!
I'm looking!
Why don't you replace the injector pump with the correct one from a perkins would make it look a lot better
I have considered that, but there's no opening onto the camshaft to fit a lift pump onto.

The steering oil is held in a reservoir that's Integrated into the pump.
It's just below the alternator.
It takes automatic transmission fluid.
@@CowfarmerDan thanks so much. I really appreciate it
Can I ask as I must of missed it what engine is in the 550
