Hi Ben, Great review and appreciate the insights into board progression. Know that you have heaps of support from so many people for your next steps moving forward. Stay strong 💪 🤙
Thanks Peter! Having an epic time on this thing haha, I really really appreciate that - great seeing you recently at the Island too!! You doing round 2 at Poss? Yewww!!!
Nice edits and nice board review… but what the beeb was that at the 14:30ish mark? Sitting down to a quick hang ten… is that even legal🤣🤣🤙 Awesome waves buddy! Yew!
Really good discussion, more than one board is needed, even in longboarding, this looks like a great model. In my opinion proof lyes in the bells WSL longboard last year when it was head high waves some people stuck to logs and didn’t look like top level surfers by any means.
Hey Ben, great vid mate 🤙🏽 great Model & loads of design work gone into this board. So good to see you ripping on it 🤙🏽 I got a Oz Noserider of the boys & love it down in the bottom of NZ. Got the wifey a Slasher so she getting back into the slide now & she been loving your Vids for inspiration 🤙🏽💯 thanks again mate Bon
The new board & Noosa fit you well! This armchair expert reckons you should just free surf like that in the contest & you’ll smash it out of the park! 🤙🏼
Hi Ben! Nice review, the board looks amazing under your feet! I want to get one myself. Do you feel like 9'6 is a good size for you? I'm a bit taller I think at 6'1 with about 165lbs. Would you recommend the 9'6 or the 9'9?
Hey! Thanks so much - yeah I love this model I could go anywhere from 9'3 - 9'6, I'm approx 74kg and 5'10 (sorry I'm not sure in lbs haha) I think given the board carries a lot of hip (width in the back 3rd) you really shouldn't have too much trouble with the 9'6 and I'd recommend that. I actually rode a grey 9'9 by 24 low pro for a while however, and this board was huge for me but still manouvred well and noserode insane - I just say that to say either would be okay, but I'd still recommend 9'6 for yourself!! Yewww
@BenConsidine thanks Ben. I'm the same at 74kg. Went with the 9'6! What fin are you running? I can't get that powerflex fin around here that CJ recommends
@@stevem3814 ahhh so sick!! Hope you’re loving it!! Haha we’ll I’m a little bias - but the last year I’ve been running the Jack Rabbit by Longboard Sessions, developed the prototype over the last 18 months or so and it launched about a month ago, the fin has another level of manoeuvrability and hold, stable in a straight line and locks in well, I have some pics on my Insta (has a massive art of a jackrabbit on it, can’t miss it in my feed haha) if you want to take a look - that’s all I’ve run in it so far, apart from that in other boards I’ve run a standard 4a and a pivot/Greenough hybrid :)
@@BenConsidine Ohh sick that may be the fin for which my friend Trevor designed the graphic?! Epic. He was raving about that one too. I have a bunch of 4a so ill probably give those a go and maybe grab one of those rabbit fins :P
I'm look for a board main purpose should be logging... Mostly for beachbreaks (if it's logs well in small mushy onshore conditions as well, or with a fat shoulder like Immesouane in Morocco it would be great). other than it's main purpose "noseriding/ logging" it would be great if the board is good for progressing on carvy (not just pivot) drop knees turns... it's the slasher a match?
It’s a great board - and fits some of what you’ve outlined here!! With boards though there’s always give and take it doing one thing very well vs another not as well as another design. For the purpose of noseriding and logging, it’s an insanely good board, it is an advanced board however with regards to its noseriding is done best right in the pocket. It can still manage some noserides on the shoulder, but I wouldn’t be promising more than a more forgiving design. In terms of riding mushy conditions as well, I’d personally be advising a different design - it’s rare you’ll find a one size fits all board that does everything. It depends on how advanced your surfing is as well - I’d say if you’re an advanced surfer with great board management on the wave, and you’re good with pocket noserides and want to advance that it would be perfect and worth getting in even the mushy conditions. If you’re looking for something more forgiving, great for improving noserides which may be sitting further from the pocket, and then something more forgiving in tricky conditions I’d be leaning towards a model with wide point middle, plenty of nose width, medium level rocker throughout the board. It’s really hard without seeing more obviously but I hope that helps!! Hey Ben, great content. Thoughts of this board and CJ’s Sprout 2.0? About to press the button on my 4th longboard to add to the quiver; specifically for nose riding.
Hey!! Thanks so much really appreciate the support 🙏🤙 For people of our size I’m typically recommending 9’4-9’6 and the rest does depend pretty heavily on what you’re after and where you’re at with your surfing!!
@BenConsidine I have a wide point back locally shaped 9'8 that I go pretty well on. It has too much volume though and feels a bit boggy. Looking for something more refined. I can cross step but not properly nose riding. I guess what size low pro would you recommend for this 75kg intermediate longboarder? Thanks :)
Hey! Umm I’ll need to get back to you on how heavy this one is glassed I’m not sure - not light though - this one is 9.2kg without a fin - the back hip and curve makes it so you don’t have to push too hard though I find 🤙🤙
@benConsidine what are the dimensions of the board in this review video…interested to know which of the options you went with and if you tried any others?
Ben, quite small here but my slasher lp with the convave n flip in tail really calling for some paddle--in adjustments; much more difficult to catch waves then my 98" flat bottom Kai Sallas. Any tips?😊
I definitely think it will be an okay board for smaller/mushy waves, won't lose a lot of speed with the flat outline - depending on where you're at with your surfing though if they're the waves you're surfin most often it may be better to go with an outline where wide point is closer to middle and a little more rocker throughout - very much depends on what you're looking to get out of the board though! Haha sorry i hope that kind of helps
Hey!!! Haven’t personally tried the different materials but I know they’re developing it under Thunderbolt technologies as well - which from riding other models allows you to keep a similar volume/feel but a lot lighter and more responsive - but again have not tried this for this model - would love to though!! Haha 🤙🤙🙏
You guys talk about "it's to be surfed in the pocket", but you seem to be noseriding it anywhere and everywhere, even on waves that aren't even breaking! So sick!

Cheers Dave!!! Yeah this one is a 9'6 , yewww!!!

Your turns are outstanding, what is the fin your using , I’ve just bought a SLP !✌️

Hey!! This one is poly! Haven’t tried the thunderbolt yet!! 🤙
@@BenConsidine what size / dims?
Hey ben, where can we get one of these here in aus?
thanks
Hey! They're sold at South Coast Surfboard by Ian Chisholm, so I'd contact southcoast or chissa via instagram and they'll get back to you! :)
What's your height and weight? Which length size board did you ride in the video?
Hey! I’m 5’10 and 74kg - board is a 9’6! 🤙🤙🤙
Hey Ben, would you say the 9'6 version board is decent for when the waves are smaller and mushy? I weigh 170lbs, 6'1.
@@BenConsidine of course! Waves are usually beach breaks, 1-3ft, pretty gutless...
Is this a board that a beginner/intermediate surfer could progress and grow into?
Hello Ben, have you tried different material/construction on this model? Appreciate if you could elaborate a bit on that.
Hey!!! Haven’t personally tried the different materials but I know they’re developing it under Thunderbolt technologies as well - which from riding other models allows you to keep a similar volume/feel but a lot lighter and more responsive - but again have not tried this for this model - would love to though!!
