If Charles wasnt hurt, he likely goes down as the best. He was holding the highest ypc until his last season where he tried playing hurt and it sank his overall stats. He was significantly better than Holmes, Holmes ran behind one of the most legendary OL's in history, Charles had one of the worst in the league and still averaged over 5 ypc. He was the ONLY weapon on the team and everyone knew he was running the rock, and they still couldnt stop him.

And can't forget Tony Richardson one of the best FB's leading the way for Priest.

This video was very well done. The 2000s truly was the golden era for backs. When I watch CMC play today , he reminds me of Marshall Faulk and LT from that time. He’s a throwback to 20 years ago, in a sense. If running backs were as valued today as they were then, Christian McCaffrey would’ve won MVP this past season, and in my view, should have..

Ya know, sometimes you have a running back who is just THAT GUY. And this imo is not one of those times.
The Chiefs had the best oline in the league in the early 2000s and it stayed that way for a while. Larry Johnson followed the Priest years with consecutive 1700 yard seasons. The next year, in 07, the line fell apart and Larry and Priest together combined for 700 yards. The special ones: AP, Jamaal Lewis, CMC, they get it done whether there's studs around them or not. Priest had an amazing run, but was NOT that guy on his own.

And I think it’s a crime that running backs are undervalued these days. Only a few teams really feature the running back, and those teams are usually consistently good. The running back should be valued, they should be used more often and they should go back to running the ball like they dated in the early 2000s. Who doesn’t love a great running game? I know passing is the name of the game today but after a while it gets boring honestly. I prefer well balanced attack but a great running back is so much fun to watch and teams can really grind out and demoralize the other side by running the ballso they should really stop the valuing the running back it’s a damn shame.

I could have ran for a thousand yards behind that o line. Willie Roaf was basically a grizzly bear playing left tackle.

Holmes was badass but he’s no walter payton, barry sanders or emmit smith.

      Nobody ever said he was

Saying he’s the most dangerous running back in history is putting him up there with those guys. Im not hating on Holmes dude was awesome but Bo Jackson & Marshall Faulk would be higher on the most dangerous list than Holmes.

@@groverstreet7128 he never said any of that lol Marshall was definitely more dangerous, but nobody is claiming that Holmes was more dangerous. He never said any of that lol If you're going off the title of the video, don't, the titles are just meant to make you click on the video they bear no real weight, it's not the actual claim he's making in the video

The title of the video is the most dangerous running back in history. It mentions just about all the greats but its about priest holmes.

Gayle Sayers.....was the best ever period because he could run full speed and shift.....and they played dirty in those days.....watch the highlights...then bo Jackson after him....the crazy part is they both got injured after the same ammount of years

Before I continue with the video, let me just say that running backs deserve so much more credit than what they are given these days. I'm having such a hard time with my top 3 let alone top 5. And I believe that running backs transcend ages.
Derrick Henry and Barry Sanders could swap places and both would still dominate.

After watching this video.... Dear Lord are Running Backs undervalued. Or maybe... Athletes are so much better that they can do much more than what is expected in previous years. Food for thought
