Truly amazing footage. What I love about Davis and McNenney is how they headbang and have a great time on stage. Today's shredders are pretty static, they barely move and seem fully concentrated the whole time.
I share this sentiment. Just as well for MORBID ANGEL. I prefer Mike's vocals over Vincent's, always have. Even though some would say there is little to no difference. I can tell.⛧🤘
It was the record label's decision. They didn't want the drummer to be the vocalist. Harder to market a band when the singer is behind everyone. They said, either get a new vocalist. Or have Mike just do vocals and get a new drummer otherwise they'd get dropped. Mike didn't want to stop playing drums, so they had to get a new vocalist, they did their best to try and get him to sound like Mike, but it didn't fit.
Mike Davis and Sean McNenney are an incredible guitar duo. One of the most underrated guitar duos of all time.
