- The 2000s' era of basketball was unlike any other. Innovation was happening at a rapid pace and the NBA's newest star players were debuting their signature sneakers. Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and Vince carter were all donning their own sneakers. Anyone who grew in this era, knows that these 2000s' basketball sneakers were unforgettable! I bought the Step Over 4s when they were re-released in 2021. With the current fashion wave being more loose fitting / y2k, they def go well with modern fits while holding the status of a memorable time and player. Best part was copping them under retail.

I miss the Starbury line. For a kid who wasn’t allowed to buy expensive shoes, they made me feel cool to still rock a signature shoe.

When I was playing in college our team shoes were the Nike huarache 2K5’s and the air jordan 19’s my freshman year in 2005-06. The 2K4’s and 2K5’s legitimately lasted for 12-15 months. Miss those days and the sneakers from that era. Keep up the great work Nacho! 👟

Late '90s mid '00s is what I like to call the "Moonboot" era of Basketball shoes. An era where basketball shoes became more specialized for the court and less appropriate for casual wear (not that it stops people from wearing Foamposits, a very interesting shoe, imho), they got crazier and crazier looking as tech improved and was added to the shoes.
T-Mac 1 & 2 were my life. Such a good shoe and affordable back then.

Man, I owned the bb4s, vc2 and especially the tmac 1s! the tmacs brought back a lot of memories, took my 1 yr savings to purchase them for my summer league and injured my left ankle back in 2002 during my sophomore year in high school, so nostalgic. great content, keep them coming.

For me, the best two shoes of that era was the 04 and 05 Reebok Iverson 9 & 10 auto pumps. Both are outrageously comfortable and have some wicked tech in them.

Awesome list. Some other shoes worth mentioning, at least for me, are the Nike Flightposite line worn by KG and the Nike zoom hyperflights. I miss the old Nike commercials with the players bouncing the ball to make beats.

I was on a film set a couple years ago. It was a dirty, filthy war show on a farm so nobody was wearing their main kicks. This one guy, purely at random, was rocking a fresh looking vintage pair of DaDa Supremes. He wasn’t some OG swagster or anything. Said he didn’t even remember when, where or why he got them and had zero idea why it would be significant at all. Literally one of the most random things I’ve ever seen in my entire life and I own tons of sneakers over 20 years old.

I am 31 turning 32 in a couple of months and I remember every bball sneakers 👟 while wearing baggy clothes which was great hip hop style.
Yo this brings back so much memories for a millennial kid😭. The first basketball shoes I ever owned were Shox VC3. I bought the 2016 reissued Huarache 2K4 for my brother’s birthday because those were his favorite kicks growing up.

Dude I'd kill for those AJ XVII !!!! I remember when they released, they put them in that suitcase haha, they were 200$ or something, no idea how much that would be in today's money....the only must have shoes remaining for me are the 13 playoffs (releasing in feb luckily) and those seventeens...

The Toyota Sequoia was really nice. My homeboy Mom had the 1st model generation and that was fully loaded. I haven’t been in a better suv since.

I had the original above the rim pumps in 93. Black nubuk upper and a gum outsole. Man, they was delicious.

Man that was a wonderful video and brought me back a lot of memories. I turned 20 y/o in 2000 and saw a lot of those shoes in my rec outdoor league, having many of them or a follow up version: had both the kobe and kobetwo, t-mac 2 from adidas, reebok answer V, didn't have the BB4 but I owned the VC 2 and loved them, the huarache 2k5 and years later grabbed the 2k4 retro. One shoe from that era that's pretty underrated is the Zoom GP2. Keep doing these amazing and nostalgic videos dude, great work!

I still have a Deadstock pair of 2003 Jordan 18’s in that white/royal color....wonder how much they are worth since they re-released these a couple of years ago 🤔🤷♂️

Something about this Era was special! The double last Era. There were some bangers like the Tmac line but some stinkers like the kobe 2. The last Era to feature leathers before everything became plastic.

I was 17 working at McDonald’s when the white and red released the first weekend in august. I worked for like 49.75 hours the next 2 weeks and only had $170.00 but they were on sale for $169.99. My mom shoe budget was low because I had “low grades “. 😂😂😂

It was a great decade for Basketball shoes. You can just waltz through any basketball shoe store and get a pair of signatures and the prices were reasonable. The commercials were an event and I felt like I was the coolest kid in High School whenever I get a new pair of Nike's. haha
The T-Mac 1 was the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned, great long lasting blacktop shoes. Love your content.

This was great video and brought back fond memories of my college ball days. I personally wore some of the shoes for my competition years. The one shoe that is loved was the Players Ball by Adidas. I had 2 pairs of these and I wish Adidas brings them back. I recently bought some T-Mac’s 1 which I found in Adidas store in Thailand ! 3:51
As a player my favorite shoe was the KG III. Light, thin sole that kept you grounded, good traction. I also liked Nash’s Nike Air Jet Flights.

Fave era of basketball shoes. Bb4, hyper flight, ultra flight, flight posite, adidas kobes and nikes, tmacs, iversons. I loved them because i was a student back then and basketball is my life. Even loved it more because i couldnt afford those as i was a student back then
And 1 Crossover for outdoor hooping was my go to. It was also a mesh version not the leather. I wore those till they fell apart!!!!
2k5s, 180 and 360BB, air lightning models from nike, colorful ben wallace and1s and the „game day lighning“ adidas kicks… great times.
Performance wise 2k4 sre still the best I played in and should be brought back imo

One of my best friends said the Adidas Kobe 1s were the most comfortable performance shoes he's owned.
In my time when I played youth ball in Germany, I saw a lot of folks play in those you mentioned (the Huarache not so much), as well as Adidas Pro Models, T-Mac 2s, Dada C-Dubbz Woodgrains, and every so often the Nike Hyperflight/Ultraflight and Flightposite 1s and 3s. Myself I played in Fila Stackhouse Spaghettis, And1 Mad Game and Uprise.
Rocked the Yellow and Black Hyperflights back in 02. Damn those were nice.💯
And I’m sure they still hold up on the court!

the original hyperdunk and the huarache 2k5 are hands down the best basketball shoes i've played in

I played a lot of ball in the ‘00s, some of my favorite pairs were Reebok answer 11, Nike zoom Kobe II, Adidas T-Mac TS light speed and Nike LeBron 4s.
The Answer V & Tmac 1 & 2 were the start if my sneaker addiction lol
the Iverson answer 4 & 5 were dope I had both, black/grey 4s and red/white 5s also had some red/white tai chis and some red/white 2k4s. one thing that was underrated about Reeboks was how comfortable they were. the Nikes and Js from the '00s weren't as comfortable as they used to be in the 80s and 90s or as fresh lol

Those Adidas kobe 1 (AKA crazy 1) where a great basketball shoe,the traction was top notch, I still have a pair in my closet to this very day.
Brooooo, that Eddie Jones swift 6s are so clean that even Lebron Wore them in highschool as well. The Jumpman post are also really clean and a better fusion of the 12 and 13 model. The Jumpman team 1 are still high up there in clean kicks imo. Did you guys saw the post on ig of lebron's game worn swift 6s from his highschool days?

I love a lot of shoes from that particular era. Early LeBrons, middle era Iversons, MJ's Wizards shoes. And1 had a bunch of fantastic shoes too. Wish they got retroed more often, but so many sneakerheads are fixated on only Nikes from the 90's.
