In the newest installment of Fly Girl, Lindsay Mendez brings viewers along for a typical day in the life of the "Wicked" star. See her secrets and find out what she wouldn't give up to play Elphaba.
"At first it's really upsetting, and then you start to wear it like a badge of honor" Basically Elphaba's character development.
WickedFrozenHeart yeah. except then she also gets the badge of shame and people celebrate when she is “dead.”
Harmonizer yeah but she kind of stops caring. People always tried to shame her. I don’t think she is ashamed at all in the end. She knows she has passed on her fight and gets to walk away with her head held high.
I feel all the swings and understudies have been in the show longer than the main cast members
It's probably because Elphaba is such a demanding role, and your voice is worn out really easily doing a show 8+ times a week... Since the ensemble is a smaller role than Elphie, the cast most likely isn't belting like she is.. The voice is so fragile, and it's hard to be belting every night and keep your voice in shape..

I love how dedicated they are to keeping their voices healthy. I've performed with people who will arrive to the hour-call and not have warmed up, coffee in hand, not giving a damn since they think downing a bottle of water will make it all okay. Lindsay, Derek and everyone else has to be in tip-top shape. Kudos and props to them!

One day I will be on Broadway and I will be elphaba hopefully it's been my dream since I was 3 to be a actor first on Hollywood then when I was in grade 7 I started musicals now I am in grade 10 and I know I can make it no matter how many people tell me I can't

Ad actually one of the girls that is on the cast of wicked here in Mexico was in my high school and that makes things very exciting! It is really my dream to sing and dance on wicked! I love how totally natural and homeopathic Lindsay is in her approach to vocal health. And then there's the Book of Mormon guys plugging Mucinex! Personally, I think Mucinex is amazing. I think it was Jared Getner who called it "Magic Singing Pills." Andrew Rannells said he was mildly addicted to it. W/Evs. I am in awe of all of these brilliant B'Way performers.
