It is that old this master piece?? Jesusss!! Long live to Neil, the one that makes you fall in LOVE in an eternal relationship full offff....wonders and gifts and ... He is ENORMOUS!!
I found this on a record that was actually a collaboration with Buffalo Springfield in the mid 90s and was absolutely obsessed. It was so achingly beautiful, it nearly made me cry. Still listening in 2024, lol. Just not on a record player. Utterly timeless.

I played this record constantly in the 70’s. I just couldn’t get enough of it.
To me ist meens trying to be everything for Someone… Selling Cars, Washing windows, even shining their Stars for them. But at the same Time not getting this back from the other… just being a ”junkman“
@@Joseph-qe7mtagreed. I love the lyric too. It also nakes me think about how the people who make the world go round (essential workers, like grocery store employees, mechanics, cleaners, etc.) usually don't get adequately compensated. They're all still just junkmen.
I miss the 70s it was a unique time. I graduated 79. I remember some great times. Neil was putting his heart into the best music; it was unique and defined an era. There was stupid songs like Disco duck, loving you, and others. Yet, there was greatness too that came out of the 60s and 70s. I was too young in the 60s but in the 80s I made it my mission to listen to a lot of 60s music. It was unique too a lot of music experimentation. Music like this fills and inspires our souls... I still listen to this, but I do listen to music of today too. Some of the newer music does start to sound a like but not 60s and 70s. They etched a new pattern and I cherish their extraordinary innovative vision and rare distinctive styles!!! PS - I am also from Southern California! Grew up in Hollywood, San Fernando valley, and Simi valley California..
If anyone named Ginger who attended Los Al high school, please respond!! Ginger had a lovely boyfriend named Keith who at her saying how I so wanted to go to a Neil Young concert, kindly bought me and my friend Kelly tickets to the concert! That performance was spectacular and I’ll never forget it but even more so, I wish I could tell Keith what a difference he made in my life after that lovely gesture!!! Oh, Keith, I owe you big time for that act of kindness!!!
Like democracy, words often fail us, but they are the only things that work well at times. All these decades later Neil Young's music has stood the test of time.
When I was young, how many trips did I travel with my mind, I let myself be carried away by this melody, sweet, wonderful voice, sentimental, sad, Neil Young with Harvest will never die, after 50 years I always listen to vinyl harvest and above all words.❤☮🌈🙏🌏🌍🌎
Back a long time ago/ somewhere on the danger line/ she slipped away at the water's edge/I was awake but I didn't see the signs/All of the king's horses/ And many of the people around/ Saw me fall to my knees and pray/I was a stranger seeking common ground
Why do you think that is 🤔❓ look with in your self it can be the Answer to your life's Question 🙃⏳❓our it could just be a flashback from the old Dazeeee 😂👍🖖
Definitely my favorite scenes, with CSN. Particularly with Graham and Stephen. My buddy who accompanied me, doesn't know one thing about Neil however, he was impressed as Neil, Graham and Stephen all were playing around on Keyboards in the same room!!
Someone and someone were down by the pond Looking for something to plant in the lawn Out in the fields, they were turning the soil I'm sitting here hoping this water will boil When I look through the window and out on the road They're bringing me presents and sayin' hello [Chorus] Singing words, words Between the lines of age Words, words Between the lines of age [Verse 2] If I was a junkman selling your cars Washing your windows and shining your stars Thinking your mind was my own in a dream What would you wonder and how would it seem? 😢
So many great lyrics…. Neil Young’s body of work is no less than Dylan. And after all, there’s Dylan n Hendrix… everybody else just trying to get there….Neil Young did it.
Never managed to understand what he meant in this song, and always been frustrated by this.. eventhough I 'm able to translate it in French ( what I am ) , I 'm not sure I get all the metaphors he uses.. and first, the title itself.. words.. between the lines of age.. isn't very clear to me , despite its apparent simplicity ! if some good soul could lighten my darkness..😅
It aint all that clear to us native speakers anyway… whats our excuse😅. The way i see it is the first verse uses vague non-descript language while the second verse is more descriptive despite the subject matter being relatively the same. Perhaps the solo represents the passage of time between different eras, yet the same struggles. Idk im not a particular smart person, nor old enough to have grown up understanding the zeitgeist of the 60s/70s
No one else like Neil
He speaks a language all his own
The soundtrack of our youth
He made a huge impact on our lives
"Thinking your mind was my own in a dream what would you wonder and how would it seem" -- hard to believe it's been 50 years ❤
Yeah,,,50 years. I cannot believe it either.

Proof that Neil's songs from. The 70s outshine anything put out today by contemporary artists.
Pero solo se habla de los 80. Kos 70 lis han borrado del mapa. Solo existen, los que nacieron en los 70. 😢
the drummer on this is superb !!!! as are all the instruments.....takes me somewhere i cant explain

The steel pedal is my favorite on this track. Haunting…
The rhythm section (bass, drums, piano) are sublime. The pedal steel guitar just before 2 minutes brings a tear to my eye, so beautiful.
Oh man... how awesome is this
The guitar solo is a wonder. Don’t miss the full version on the Journey Through The Past album ;-)
