This has to be one of the most underrated channels on UA-cam, honestly, Mark is one of the most entertaining riders and trail builders! Keep up the good work!
Totally agree! I watch alottttt of the mtb channels going! And this guy is a savage on the bike! 😯 and his content on the building side is perfect too! Amazing land to work with and amazing building! DREAMS!! 😂
Dude your content is awesome! My 11 year old rides a Hawk hill jr 27/26 mullet and loves your channel and as a dad it’s hard to find good role models, you my friend are a great role model nothing dodgy! We are excited when your edit pop up and watch em together! Thanks mate
It’s been a blast watching you create videos and build up your trails and your skills. Your camerawork is miiint right now. I can’t wait to get out and ride myself. Keep up the good work
That last jump is the bomb! I loved this video. Seeing that cable cam setup was pretty cool too. Timing is everything. You and Scott are true artists! Please keep the videos coming.
The whips you throw down on the step up and the sheer amplitude of that last jump must make this one hell of a run! This trail looks absolutely insane!
Searching for HH vids and found MM! Your channel is...mint! As an extremely intermediate rider, I love the occasional run where you kind of narrate what's happening with features and technical aspects while you're riding. Not that I'm gonna hit anything remotely like these big old nasty jumps you got going on in this vid lol That air time is ridiculous!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB big time man! I'm sure its a nightmare trying to get the timing! Haha Some brilliant shots already tho! be class to see what else yous get! 🤘
For the cable cam buy a rc car and take it apart then rig up the motor from it to the pulleys on the cable cam as then you can monitor the speed of it and put it in reverse for the buffer
100000% making my own cable cam, now. How the hell did I not think of this before? I assume you have a way to quickly release the cam and return it to the top in hand? Which gimbal is on it? Also, is the still the gopro max that you are wearing? I've had 4 evo SS gimbals and they have all died, 2 of them in the verh first ride. Getting quite sick of it.
Yes, it’s seems pretty easy. Scott did a killer job! You can pop the wheels off easily with a pin to remove the whole setup off the line, or use a shorter rope as a leash to pull it back up the line. Getting a remote setup eventually would be the most dialed. Yep, the Evo gimbals are crap. You need something big and stable like a karma grip. In all these shots I’m just using the GoPro max. No gimbal! Pretty killer stabilization.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB does it involved much post processing to get the stabilization to work, given its based off of 3d? Or does it have a pretty simple mode for it? Not versed on the max.

Your whips are insane! Great idea with the cablecam, gonna have to make one for myself. Sick mate!
Ask Scott for ideas, he did it for $100 !!
I'm gonna make one too, mabey a few ball bearings. Paracord, duct tape and my phone
Such a fun day man! Thanks for helping put this rig to the test. Can't wait to put it to use for some Marin vids!
oh ya!
Boah! This trail is one of the prettiest I have ever seen! This is serious prime workart! Can't wait to see those cable cam schots :)
Holy crap Mark! The hang time on that step-up and finish jump is insane 😳!

I can’t believe the trails you build you are surely the best
Thanks so much!
I need redemption on that last jump 😂
yes you do lol
That’s one of the best trails i have ever seen. Love your videos!👍🤘
Epic! Thanks for leaving a comment.
Just an idea you could put a 360 camera on the cable so you could change the view to always see the rider
That would be epic! If only 360 cameras were better quality though. The quality is really what sets cable cams apart from drones
@@MarkMatthewsMTB the new insta 360 is pretty good
Every video you put out is so good 👌
Thanks Conor that means a lot, I’m constantly trying to improve
This is by far your best video, you definitely need to come back out to this place the jumps are massive keep it up 👍
Thanks! before the landscape closes out into a cliff I think I can fit one more jump too!
sending it!!!

Hi bro, I have a question for you, did u use gimbal in your gopro hero max chest mount?
MTB RIDER ESPAÑA no the max is this smooth! Crazy hey?!
Nice bro, yes it is great 🔥 thanks for answer 👍
You should do mtb film on that trail it would be sick
it wil leb part of an upcoming raw video for Marin bikes.
What type of camera do you use that comes on at 204, that quality is insane!!
Panasonic gh4
Gh5 😉

Massive hits make me wanna take my feet off the pedals. I currently working on an electric cable cam system for MTB viddies
just stay strong on the bike. That's awesome! I would love to see how you rig up a setup like that.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB still in development, will make some viddies on it when I'm nearing completion
Very good upload. I need a new PC for better exports!
Thanks! Yea I just upgraded to the quickest MacBook I could configure and it still works hard on the exports. Videos really work your machine.
What are your settings on the max? looks amazing
Max view with one lens open on the chest, 1440 30fps
Is that a tld d3 helmet, ive never heard of the brand kavu and it looks exactly like a D3
It's a d3 with a KAVU paint job. Kavu is a clothing/lifestyle brand.
Have you ever been in red bull rampage? Insane vid
In 2013, broke my femur on my run! Haha such a gnarly event.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB are you gonna ever take another run?
I’m a new subscriber, do you own that land?
Thanks!! No, the logging company does. Many of the trails here get logged eventually, unfortunately this will too. Hopefully not for like 10 years!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB great I’m building a trail too in just open space!

@@MarkMatthewsMTB thank you just watched a few more of your vids, love them!
do you ride a 29er bike?
Not yet, bundling up a Marin alpine tail right now!
How long did it take to build this whole line?
I took my time with this one and picked away at it over the 2019 and 2019 seasons. So early 2018- December 2019
