Local on the 8s // Chicago O'Hare - Nov 3, 2023 8:18 PM CDT // WeatherSTAR 4000 Emulation

Let's mix it up once again! Here is a quick recording of the TaigaNet WS4000 emulator configured for my area. The emulator has got a lot of issues, sadly, due to a lack of recent development. But this thing is still very cool to mess around with. I might upload these to fill gaps, since my IS1 emulations can be very time-consuming to produce.
I threw in some Allen Jackson narrations just to spice things up (obviously, not accurate to the WS4000!). I may or may not use those for WS4000 videos in the future. Let me know what you think.

ABOUT THE WEATHERSTAR 4000
Arguably the most iconic of The Weather Channel's local forecast computers, the WeatherSTAR 4000 debuted in 1990 and was "the source" for weather throughout the rest of the 90s. The WS 4000 brought several advancements to TWC local forecasts, including graphical icons, doppler radar, maps, and the iconic blue, orange, purple backgrounds. Although the follow-up WeatherSTAR XL debuted in 1998, some WS 4000 machines served forecasts through 2014, when all units were discontinued in favor of the IntelliSTAR 2 family of systems.
