    Is it ok to take ihram while ur mensurating? And perform ghusl before actually performing umrah. Please answer

    • @NafisasPearlz
      @NafisasPearlz  6 років тому +104

      Shamla Basheer yes, that's what I did. The Islamic consensus is that you should not delay entering into ihram just because you are on your period. So enter ihram with others when you reach the meeqaat but do not follow them to the praying area or perform umrah until you have completed your menstruation and had your Ghusul inshallah. Hope that helps.

      Shamla Basheer yes, definitely. u put on ihram, recite talbiyah (but not praying). then u need to be a bit patient. wait till bleeding is over -u r in ihram all that time - then do ghusl, without any fragrant soap and be careful not to pull any hair. you r in.ihram, after all. then, once you r done with periods and ghusl, go ahead, do your umrah.

      Megalina Wong you could make dua and ask Allah for friends that remind you of hi. Also try to visit a local mosque and try to attend islamic events, that way you can make more friends inshaAllah.

    Just came back from the Holy Land about 3 weeks ago, and missing it tremendously!!! Lemme share with all the sisters out there some tips to make your umrah easier, in addition to what Sister Nafisa has shared here:
    1. If you think that the number of abayas you have there is not enough, you can always buy coz they're freakin' cheap there :)
    2. Having long and loose blouse and pair it with loose pants: good to go so practically every single thing you want to do there. They're easy to mix-and-match, and you can still be fashinable (ahem) whilst performing your ibadahs. Wear handsocks and normal socks, you're solat-ready already!
    3. Always be ready for random checks by the security when entering the mosque, so be sure to bring a bag that is easy to open. Especially at Masjidil Nabawi, the security will check every single bag before you enter.
    4. Not sure if this is widely practised amongst those from wherever you are, but us South East Asians (Malaysians and Singaporeans) are always advised to bring a spray bottle for you to renew your wudhu' should you accidentally invalidated it :D. Wudhu' for women especially at Masjidil Haram is quite far outside, so it's a distance to walk in that massive arena. Fill this spray bottle with zamzam water and you're good to go to renew your wudhu' ...without ever leaving your solat spot! :)
    5. The price for personal items over there can be quite expensive, just a heads-up (example: SAR15 for a toothbrush, SAR10 for a packet of sanitary pads-yikes!)
    Those are the ones I can think of for now. Oh gosh I miss Mecca and Madina so much!!

    • @ymiyasmin
      @ymiyasmin 5 років тому +3

      Salam Suraya. Thank you for sharing those additional tips. Can you tell me how do you use the spray bottle to take wudu' without leaving your spot? What kind of bottle and won't you have to have your arms exposed etc to take wudu'? Also what type of footwear do you use for tawaf? Thanks a lot!

    Quick tip about the medicines - if you are taking any prescribed medications make sure to take a copy of the prescription or note from your doctor. Also some medications that are available over the counter here in the UK may be controlled there, and some prescriptions meds may be illegal. This particularly applies to psychotropic medications & painkillers.

    Woww Nafisa you summarized my many years of experience into a few minutes! I'm very impressed!
    Personally I found 'decentralising' my stuff useful. For example I would wrap each outfit change separately including top, bottom and underwear and seal this bundle with tape. This made changing and showering real quick when you don't have to fumble around for clothes in your suitcase.
    Also I carried a small shoulder bag with my ID, spare change and inhaler (I have asthma) instead of a big heavy bag pack. This little bag stayed on me at all times.
    Hope this helps (:
    The shoes the shoes the shoes those are so important! And water and granola bars those saved my life during Hajj!
    Never have I ever used measuring tape for my hair tho. Always used my fingertips as measurements 😂💇

    This was great. Thanks for the video.
    From what I understand, FYI, for reasons related to hygiene/cleansing we are allowed to use products with scents. Of course be sensible and not use anything with too strong a scent. So for example, shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, facial cleanser, moisturiser, sunblock, lip balm, detergent (to wash hand socks, socks, inner etc), products with fragrance/scent are ok.
    Also, it's a good idea to bring panty liners/pads/tampons, just in case.
    For anyone with a bad back, may want to look for those air cushions so that sitting at the mosque in between prayers are not as uncomfortable, since the floor is hard.
    There are a lot of shops that sell those type of express/instant hijab/shawl that you showed (white with flowers) that don't look so "granny". Unfortunately, I only know those in Malaysia, but they may ship internationally. Due to exchange rates, could even be cheaper! try shopee.com.my or lazada.com.my and search for express hijab, express shawl, instant hijab, instant shawl or double-loop shawl.
    For myself, I prefer wearing long top (like a salwar khameez) with loose trousers. Much more comfortable to walk in.

      Mounira Goldeneye Follow whatever your country guidelines are but you will need a scissors to cut your hair since shortening of the hair IS a requirement of the umrah.

      I believe cabin baggage will not allow scissors, but your baggage which you will not carry into the cabin will allow scissors. This is what I know from my experience. 😃

    • @NafisasPearlz
      @NafisasPearlz  6 років тому +3

      Raweeha Abdul Rab yes, in the UK, scissors less than 4 inches can be carried in the checked in luggage but NOT in the hand luggage so you have to follow the inside the country where you live inshallah.

      The police and local administration try their best to, but at times after the tawaf there is so much crowd that men and women end up praying in sections that are not for them.
      But fardh namaz and salatul janaza is not like that

    Sister your video is very informative. Regarding the unscented products I have a question that I have few scars on my face due to a medical condition and I have to put on makeup or a concealer all the time to keep it hiding. At umrah i came to know we cannot wear niqab which I thought I would do but now I came to know i cannot cover so do you know any altrenativ that i could do or any cosmetic brand that produce unscented products.

    Thanks for the video, it’s good to know what to take but can I just let you know the Soap Simple brand is haram as it has Sodium tallowate in it and Sodium tallowate is basically PIG FAT!! you can google it if you want and as for other brands of soap you can check them before purchasing. It’s better to be safe than sorry later. Salaam sister. 🤲🏼

    Dear sister please please I would be grateful for a prompt reply, I’m going umrah this Saturday Ofcourse during Ramadan, I have requested medication to stop my period however my doctor has advised the only medication that gaurantees to stop the cycle is is the norethistarone which should be taken 3 times a day, I’m really confused as I really want to maintain my fasts and be from the period, is there any medication that u can recommend as the my doctor seems to be clueless about this and asked me to get advice for her???

    Hi I am worried about my period as I am going Umrah this month on the 21st and I finished my period on the 4th Dec so it is likely that I’ll start while I’m there if my periods are regular. However my period has been very irregular lately because I started my period for the first time in 3 months so I’m not sure what to do regarding taking tablets etc? I had my period towards the end of August but then it didn’t come until 28th Nov.
