- The brand new instalment of Disventure Camp All Stars, Episode 5, was just released, and this episode was FANTASTIC! In this video, I recap the ENTIRE episode from the very start to the very end, whilst also giving my overall opinions on the episode as a whole! At the end, I also reveal who my FAVOURITE character of the episode was, and who my LEAST FAVOURITE character was, and give the episode an overall ranking!

The division of the Cyan team is pretty interesting and Tess will have to pick a side whether she likes it or not, as unless something breaks the duos up, say Gabby finding out the Villains Alliance is in fact real, they’re gonna vote together and Tess can’t keep choosing to not vote with either of them every time, she needs allies in the game especially since she lost Hunter at the end of the episode.
The Magenta team, we see Ashley and Jake showing actual strategy, they may hate Fiore but they needed her vote here, as avoiding a tie is always a good idea especially with someone as strong as Hunter, and even if the Magenta team loses again they can either boot Fiore by working with Ally, or force a tie between one of them and Fiore that they’re more likely to win then against Ally or Hunter.
With the Yellow team despite a 4 person alliance on a team of 5 there’s a ton of division even between Grett and Yul along with Riya and Connor, Yul's continued awful treatment of Grett despite their relationship, shows how awful a person he really is, this will very likely lead to Grett joining up with Connor and maybe Alec as the 3 all share troubled relationships.
The division will only worsen for the Yellow team especially once the others of the villains alliance find out somebody leaked info about them to the other teams, and when they discover how Riya has actively been working against them since they formed it, with her not helping Ellie or Fiore in the 2 challenges, along with her vote against Yul, could lead them to suspect her of leaking the alliance to the other teams, instead of Connor.
AGREED, there's gonna be so much tension on the Yellow Team and I'm worried that Connor will reveal himself since he's such a chill and nice guy lol

The writers forgot that Alec existed in this episode, lol. He only had one line. But still, Alec has been carrying these All Stars episodes, I guess his back is hurting so much, so he just decided to take a chill pill, lol.

1st: Ep 4 ALEC DONT BE THE BEST CHARACTER LIKE THAT
2nd: Ep 5 the screentime between all the characters its just so well distributed (except for alec but he had been the star of last episode)
3rd: Ep 1 it was such a great start and seeing them talking without having to vote for eachother and stuff is so refreshing
4th: ep 2 a great start to the competition
5th: ep 3 dont get me wrong its still good but i feel like it didnt add much to the show overall and its the most forgettable episode so far plus some of the interactions seem to not affect the next episode (Fiore finding out the clue and Hunter and Ally being impressed but then dont care next episode, some out of character moments and overall the episode didnt even try to achieve much, and it has a bs elimination too. plus underwater episodes arent my thing
yeah I gotta agree with this, it looks as if the episodes are getting better as they're going by which is great!

3rd: Magenta (While some people say Magenta will be left alone next episode for plot, game and even challenge logic can and do apply to this shows over other animated reality shows. While you can argue that Hunter wasn’t their best performer (you can argue Ashley for that), that team is hurting, especially, physicality. While it would be nice to not have a challenge so physical, that has been the trend so far. Unless the next trailer shows something otherwise, the challenge will likely have some noted physical components, which Fiore (especially with Hunter out) will have to compete in that light.

Grett (possibly courtesy of Yul and possibly blamed for exposing the villains’ alliance over Connor),
Alec (Presumed overplay/due to, Miriam’s words, getting perceived as playing too many sides. Plus, Alec going out that way would be something sweet revenge for Miriam as well.
Possibly Riya, depending on how Yul’s “meeting with Emily goes”. That said, should Riya go out like this, there is a very high chance Emily hit a landmine to enable Riya to return should her connection (possibly Kristal’s boss as well) in Reynold Chaddington becomes more of a character (for both DC as a prequel for him and later on with the Mysteries of Kruger Mansion)
Cyan: Tess with Ellie as secondary. The next elimination for cyan, should they stay intact depends on who Tess target. If she targets Ellie, Ellie stand a high chance to get oust (with a good possible re-entry should she go out on what is likely a salty elimination). However, that makes Tom the swing vote, which Ellie or Tess will depend if he is more loyal to either Aiden or Gabby (While it wasn’t assume Aiden based on their bonding, these two may not be each other’s closest allies though). If Tess targets anyone else, notably land mining on Gabby, Tom may get back at Tess for that burn vote.
Tom: since it looks likes something looks a subplot may be finally be in motion, which Tom may or may be a part of it again.
Should teams shake up and even have a team absorption (3 into 2), like it did in Survivor AS season, then the most projected as swap screwed:
Jake: Villians’ scapegoat courtesy of Miriam
Aiden: If he ends up on the same team as Jake
Ellie: should her interviews get re-visited to reveal they were worse (at least some to half of them) than originally shown
I definitely think a twist could happen, such as a swap or even a complete team shake up

You made a really good point about Derek. While Derek is essentially a knock-off character, they haven’t sugarcoated this at all with him. That said, ever since episode 12, they have worked into humanizing him more and willing to do something and even speak up more than just being an unapologetic ass. It was for that reason I like Derek more than Trevor.
While people like Trevor for being nice, silly, and even groovy, that gets mistreated by Derek, Trevor, also from E12 of remake, did start to show that he is a bit of a pushover, even beyond how Derek treats him. While Derek can say or do that are idiotically wrong, Derek is at least willing to say or doing something while Trevor is too passive for my liking. While he can raise some concerns or question, he often does more commentary than engaging into more initiative. Like Fiore, the biggest thing I like about him is the VA. I even admitted to SillyBilly that he saves this character.
YEAH I really like the bond between Derek & Trevor this season! hopefully we see more from them potentially
Watching A few episode I think I know what's going on with tom why he avoiding jake Ignoring his calls. Obviously I think tom afraid to get hurt again I mean, think about it.He lost his job.He lost the game.lost a chance to win one million jake Begging tom to save him Tom have a bad experiment to be in a relationship And if every time he sees jake or things about him the memory comes back And that was hurting tom The pain hasn't going away This this things takes time
yeah I definitely understand Tom's stance on the subject, but I also feel bad for Jake as he clearly wants to make up with Tom but he doesn't seem to want any part of it lol, at least right now
Obviously tom just wants to be alone And focus on his career as a police Until he's ready to talk to jake Because I look like he is not Ready?

its just funny how other than the first 2 eliminated the only characters to be worse than last season are the ones involved in a love triangle
and making this made me realize there are 10 women and 8 men and not 9 each
I didn't even realise myself that there were more guys than girls in this season LOL
Obvious tom is afraid to get hurt Avoiding jake ignoring his call Refuse talking to him I mean, come on, falling in love takes time not right away. And every time he looks at Jake. The memory comes back from what happened in episode 10. And that was mess up tom was crying and Hurt 😢😢😢
For rating this episode, I’ll give a 8.5-8.75.
Despite being the shortest episode to date this season, it was one of the most balanced episodes so far this season. Also, we are finally getting something calling a subplot plus a bonus scene for the first time this season, which I wondering if they would do at all this as they mostly did in the remake. Since this was the shortest episode this season, I’m confused and even frustrated at why some things, like Yul’s rogue vote (from Riya), was fleshed out while other things weren’t as well explained.
While this seems as a bit of an unpopular opinion, I wished this a little more either explanation or something shown as to why Ashley opted to oust Hunter over Ally. Even compared to Ally (Plus, Hunter is someone you actually wanted to keep around at merge to hopefully use to oust someone like Tom later on), Hunter has been the most vocal for Fiore going. In addition to being more useful at challenges, it keeps Ashely and Jake more in control of their team. By keeping Ally, Fiore has an out to survive the next elimination while she has next to no option, as things stand now, had Hunter stayed over Ally. While I typically don’t like to call this, this elimination seemed more like cases of plot convenience to have Fiore staying another episode, notably have more focus on Ally but also plot inconvenience for Jake to keep him envious (this is starting to get to past jealousy at this point) Aiden for his bonding with his ex. While some eliminations can be cases of plot convenience vs game logic, they have found the balance with this before. It could have made better sense why Hunter over Ally was more optimal to go for Ashley and Jake, but there wasn’t enough shown (and there could have been with maybe additional explanation from Ashley, post-elimination or some scene with Jake (like looking concerned at Hunter talking to Tess, who is on another team and friends with someone his dislikes (Ellie)). As Fiore noted, she, as far as we know so far, had to vote for whoever Jake and Ashley instructed her to do so.
(Side note: Depending on who else gets ousted, Hunter, if re-entry is more competition based, could come back. While I don’t think he has highest chance, it would not be that far fetched either, especially since his bus stop exit was notably different from prior three eliminations. While people have said that wasn’t much that could have done with Hunter on another season, I slightly disagree. While he admittedly, compared to others, is a more limited character, there are quite a few things that could have done to give him more depth. Also, I read a comment elsewhere saying that Hunter’s VA (English at least) was very confused and even notably displeased with how they mostly treated him and his respected line he has to say)
Before I go further into other frustration this episode (notably with one character), there other things I want to mentioned:
Gabby made at least two reference this episode. While I miss this (and found this out later), Freckles is the name of baiting chicken that Courtney Yates refused to kill in Survivor HvV. Also, Gabby beating out Fiore was a beta reference to how she beat out Fiore (and Will) during their canoe challenge (beta episode 2 for reference)
One of the most highlight characters in the episode was Ellie. Mostly, Ellie was well received in light having much needed moral complexity added back to her that arguably lacking so far with her this season. However, people dislike, and in turn having Ellie fans concerned about lying (badly once again) to Gabby but notably with her conversations towards Tess (notably regarding Tess about “trusting” Hunter). With how Ellie was this episode, she was starting to show some sign of paranoia with Ellie fully being aware of it. If in small amounts that a person keeps themselves in check with, paranoia, like in shows like Big Brother and Survivor, isn’t a bad things and even as an internal smoke detector. Ellie’s concerns about how close Tess and Lake is a good example of that. However, even small amounts of said paranoia can cause anyone to spiral to go out control. Should paranoia spiral out of control, it can anyone to derail in some fashion and even, on reality shows, into derailment as contestants or even as a character. As of now, Ellie hasn’t arguably derailed and is still in the ambiguous area, which is part of her appeal as a character. However, she could go either way on potential derailment in some fashion based on her current arc and direction.
While people loved how Miriam, via Connor exposed the villains’ alliance, this could slightly be foreshadowing on potentially screwing over Alec and/or Jake. With the alliance getting exposed, this could blow-up in Alec’s face for playing too many sides, as Miriam pointed out. In turn, this would be some retroactive sweet revenge on Alec for both direct and misperceived overplay. Regardless how this affects Alec, Miriam have screwed over Jake as well based on intel with Jake was in an “alliances” with Alec. Should this alliance staying intact despite the revelations, their scapegoat, which they can use Connor to better sell how Jake is “one of them” while Jake’s antics can also be exploited to discrediting him as well.
Beyond Hunter’s elimination , the most frustrating aspects of this episode for me were Tom’s confessionals. With his first confessional, which the ending part was the audio trailer portion, who typically, even indirectly, is meant to showcase something in the episode proper. However, they didn’t do much with that post-confessional, even as indirect context. Even ahead of the episode, I’m noticing they been mentioning, both directly and indirectly, that Tom is a cop quite bit. Out of 5 episodes this is the 4th one, and at least the 7th time, they have reference this. While you can “argue” they haven’t made that clearer in Tom being a cop, why do they keep bringing this up when it hasn’t really lead to anywhere so far this season?
With his second confessional, I feel like Tom talking about still feeling burned by Jake could have been a bit being executed by saying feeling that way when he watched his season, in full, back at home. Despite how these two were at the end of the remake finale, things can hit different for reality show contestants when they are able to watch the show themselves upon returning home and back to their everyday lives.
That said, one thing quite a few people have miss (based on over-focusing Tom saying still feeling burned by Jake) is that he cut himself after saying the word “and”, almost like he was about to mentioned something else that happened. While fishing with Ashley last episode, Jake hinted, but then refused, about something that happened with Tom as well. Based on both these scenes are leading into something else happened between Jake and Tom, post-season, that caused Tom to lose too much trust in Jake to ghost him afterwards. Despite Tom arguably lying of promising to talk to Jake later, I get a feeling, even if Jake gets eliminated next episode (to be flipside of Tom self-eliminating to spare Jake in beta via a totem use) and should he make it to the end, Tom, whether he likes it or not, will say something. Likely, these will have some blowup, possibly like next episode to reflect how episode 6 tends to cause this these two either fallout and/or feud from their original season (both versions). However, Tom’s second confessional can be very lightly interpreted as still possibly being in love with Jake (possibly always will), but Tom getting burned, beyond what happened in the remake, caused a loss in trust in Jake. Thus, Tom is trying to cut his losses on a broken relationship that may not be worth repairing. At this point, we need to wait to find out what happened to see if they should “talk this out”
Based on this episode, many people are noting how hands-on Tom and Aiden have been, with Tom being more receptive to this. While people, moreso Jake fans, are wondering if Tom has some feelings for Aiden, I don’t think so as Aiden may have some complicated stances regarding his boyfriend and his current bonding from Tom if that was the case. Personally, I see Tom and Aiden are more of brotherly/bromance relationships. What is throwing people off a bit is nothing that Alec and Connor, despite what happened in the prior episode and are both straight, as a bromance too that is nowhere near as expressive. However, bromances, especially in IRL, can be even more affectionate that what Tom and Aiden are displaying towards each other, regardless of which way they actually swing. The fact Tom and Aiden are both gay may be playing into this (Two gay men can actually have a bromance without it going into more noted sexual attraction). Furthermore, whether it’d by personality or culturally, some people can be expressive and even more affectionate, even moreso than when Tom stop concealing himself so much in the remake. Despite being more expressive and friendlier, Tom hasn’t really initiated to kiss anyone (Remeber, Jake was the one was who did that in remake). Also, Tom has couple of tells of possibly being attracted/into someone, which he hasn’t, at this point, shown towards Aiden.
