I was born and raised in Hawaii and when I went into the Army in 1970, I felt lonely and was constantly discriminated against but I met a white guy from Marengo, Iowa (Birch Everette) while stationed in Germany and he became my best friend. He treated me with respect and was a true friend. Many years later I searched for him on the internet because I never forgot his kindness and amazingly we finally connected on Facebook in 2016 and within two months he and his wife came to Hawaii to visit me after 40 years. I told him I met a lot of people from the mid-western states in my life time and that they are just like people from Hawaii, always smiling, friendly and will give you their last dollar if they had to. Bless people from all walks of life who are kind to each other. You make a difference in other people's lives.

My grandmother was looking out her farm window one day at her Iowan farm (recalled by my mother) and exclaimed, looking out at the flowing crops and cloud dotted blue sky, "How can there not be a God?" She was just so in awe of the beauty. The rolling hills are beautiful! Not everything in this world is senseless. Beauty and gratefulness truly exists.

Yess sir I met him while I was on vacation, and I saw him on Hollywood blvd and I was scared to go ask him for a picture cus I mean he's a huge guy and I didn't want to bother him but he saw me staring and walked up and said "ahhh are you a fan I was like uhh yeah Yess!! I am and he gave me the tightest hug and his smile oh my it's just so beautiful and genuine, my mom took a few photos of us and then he looked at my mom and said come on now there's room for more and hugged her as well the whole ride home we we're just talking about what an amazing laid-back guy he is.

Hearing my favorite super hero was from my state and lived so close to where I grew up was one of the coolest things. Having a chronic illness and being home a lot being sick I have a lot of time on my hands and I would always go back to watching super hero movies. Even as a teenage girl it makes me still feel powerful. I'm lucky enough that I don't have an illness that won't kill me but sometimes I would wish Aqua man would just take me to the ocean where I could meet every species of sea life.

This guy.... I swear.. I see him in movies and on various web pages and I think “here’s another movie star.. another guy the girls all obsess over...” but watching this and the video of him in Hawaii.. man.. this guy has it all. You rarely see someone who has the world in their hands like he does right now and yet he is so humble... he’s got so much love for friends and family.. I have gathered an all new appreciation for this man. This right here is what separates him from all the other actors and stars. This guy can and does change lives. And every life matters to him. You never know what you may find. I found out that Jason loves the farm land. For me I travelled to Ohio to see my grandmother and grandfather. They lived in the farm land all their life. One of my favorite things to do when I am up there is look out across that back field and just relive childhood for a little while. Thank you for this. Much love to you and your family from Georgia!

I said on a post a few days ago that Hollywood was losing the great role models like the Duke, Clint who is 88 and others. Jason is just a down to earth great guy, you can't fake being this gracious and caring. We need more like you and I will leave it there as far as Hollywood goes. Yess sir I met him while I was on vacation, and I saw him on Hollywood blvd and I was scared to go ask him for a picture cus I mean he's a huge guy and I didn't want to bother him but he saw me staring and walked up and said "ahhh are you a fan I was like uhh yeah Yess!! I am and he gave me the tightest hug and his smile oh my it's just so beautiful and genuine, my mom took a few photos of us and then he looked at my mom and said come on now there's room for more and hugged her as well the whole ride home we we're just talking about what an amazing laid-back guy he is.

I grew up about 20 miles east of Momoa’s home town. The fact that he showed us his love for home, for Iowa, and his family was outstanding. Without fame, he’d still be larger than life. Yeah he’s cool on screen, but it stuff like this makes me a fan of his. From one Iowan to another, thanks for all you do, Jason.

Hearing my favorite super hero was from my state and lived so close to where I grew up was one of the coolest things. Having a chronic illness and being home a lot being sick I have a lot of time on my hands and I would always go back to watching super hero movies. Even as a teenage girl it makes me still feel powerful. I'm lucky enough that I don't have an illness that won't kill me but sometimes I would wish Aqua man would just take me to the ocean where I could meet every species of sea life.
